LMFAO!!! when she started singing about "2 driftin down the river" it made me think of huckleberry finn (b/c we just finished reading it for english yesterday...lol then she said her "huckleberry friend" lol
ZSUZSI, olyan bájos ez a film, ez a dal, a vörös cica na és persze Audrey. A mi szüleink biztosan nem láthatták '61-ben. Akkor a mozik szovjet filmeket vetítettek Európa közepén.
I miss the times when the desirable, sexy women of the screen were the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Rita Hayworth etc. Nowadays it's, well, I think you know where I'm going with this.
I always get teary eyed when I watch "Breakfast at Tiffanys" and her sing this. And it's only when I hear her singing it! I hear someone else sing it and I'm just like -_- , but when she does it makes me cry. Every time!!
@eizhowa She was not a slut she was a high class escort for whom New York City Manhattan gentlemen paid for a date and dinner. She would then go home and close the door on them when they wanted more. LOL In this movie she never had sex with anybody didn't you see the film LOL
@TheAmericanEvita Fine, prostitute, then. However, the phrase "50 dollars for the powder room" does not refer to money given to her for powdering her nose. Audrey played her role so well people don't usually interpret her words for what they really mean.
@nyanyakoyo she was like Alicia Keys, undercover slut. sure you had others like Monroe that stood out more, but Audrey did more then her fair share of hollywood humping
my alltime beautiful actress ..just style and panache, she had a beautiful heart as well working for unicef...they paid them £1 a year for their efforts lol (source...Roger Moore).
I am completely infatuated with Audrey Hepburn, and I'm gay! She is absolutely gorgeous and beautiful. Her look has something so special in it it makes my heart jump whenever I see her in any movie and this song makes my heart cry. She was simply the embodiment of beauty, class, loveliness, kindness, purity, talent, and innocence. R.I.P. Miss Hepburn, truly the world couldn't ever possibly forget you!
@Europecon People's color has no matter. But I understand what you wanted to say. Yes, now they stop producing masterpieces, instead they count how many black people in their movie and how politically correct is it.
You know the director of this movie originaly wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Audrey's part, but sadly she past away before the movie even went into production. To me I don't think it would of been as good of a movie though with Marilyn.
@kaibigibignadilag I don't mean this to sound annoying, but she was British. Everything else is true though - her beauty was truly exceptional and she remains a timelessly elegant icon.
@consciousmixture Actually, I just recently read her biography and kind of had that issue cleared up for me. She was born in Belgium, but had a British citizenship and attended school there when she was little. Then WWII happened and she moved to the Netherlands, to stay with her grandfather.
Stunning voice, fits perfectly with the woman who I think was the most beautiful and classy lady alive. Rest in Peace Audrey Hepburn, you were beautiful both inside and out. xxxxxxxx

What a beautifule world. Just white people and peace on the planet. No collored terrorists no collored social problems in our cities. Just close your eays and immagine its the 50's....
@Europecon Oops, sorry, I commit some mistake in the previous message, I'll write again. :)
Hi, first of all I am white. But it really worries me that there are people in this world who can hate so much another human being simply for the color of their skin. A beautiful world would be a place with people who were good and smart, instead of hating each other... people different of what you seem to be, unfortunately.
You can't be such a bad person if you desire a peaceful world, please.
So suppose you feel it, that you've finally met her. And she is too busy looking at the stars ... or another man ... or is scared. How does one get past this without chasing her off? I mean, you feel it, but can't say it.
@guccigirl6 ooops i acidentally gave this a thumbs up on accident i totally disagree with you. Men marry women like this the easy sluts are the ones that end up with nothing.

@guccigirl6 "today no one likes women like her" that's why audrey hepburn is a household name and international star known by most everyone today though her career ended 50 years ago, right!? "stupid" isn't exactly a world I would to describe this person who is beautiful inside out, i feel sorry for you for not being able to see it
Maybe that was acting - singing folksy & rough in character....
Critics were already on to something when they said she was miscast here: Audrey is so elegant, refined & aristocratic as a person.
But Holly Golightly is supposed to be this somewhat low-class Dixie huckleberry who moves to NY and becomes a wannabe-snob...... so she's not supposed to play the character too classy, singing like a Euro noblewoman. Perhaps the crack-voiced singing was good acting.
@MrLarryLessorPlaying a part and being who you are are different did you know that? There is something called Acting that was what Ms. Hepburn did in Breakfast At Tiffyany's. Its okay if in real life your not like your character again its called Acting! Holly Golightly wasn't a wannabe-snob she wanted the money for her and Fred haven't you seen the movie? Did you not understand it or something. Hmmmm Intresting.
@piztachi0 i actually like the way she sings this song.. BUt she herself said she couldnt sing and didnt even want to sing this in the movie.. (i watch TCM all the time)
Being born in the 1940's I saw her movies when she started her career. There was ready something very special about her that is lacking in so many actors today.
I saw this movie in 1962 when I was 9 years old. The storyline was beyond my comprehension, but the music was understandable to anyone with a heart. This scene is as iconic and classic as anything that Hollywood has ever produced.
(Remember that it was Hepburn who insisted that this song be included in the movie). Hepburn: beauty, taste, and class personified. Cinematic Goddess.

I've got a big poster of Audrey Hepburn, it's a pic from Breakfast at Tiff's and she looks so sweet on Maryln Monroe (I guess that's how you spell it:)I didn't watch the movie yet, but I've read the book, the song and this video gave me an idea about it. This song is so slow and one of the only songs I understand without reading the lyrics:)
I can't find this song anywhere with her singing it without the sound of the typewriter (for downloading..) ... where did you get it? i have the soundtrack from the movie but this version isn't on the CD :'(
@MaryhadaLtmb123 Although I agree, not all of us have the class and poise as Audrey, Not all of us are "sluts" or pole dancers. Some of us have class in that we aren't trying to seduce every man that comes into our sights. Nor are all of us as insecure to think that is what we have to do to get a man. :) You just aren't finding the right girls to surround yourself with.

Audrey Hepburn is the epitome of beauty.
Many look good, but she just had that thing which made her above all others.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
she's actually acting like skank, passing out, jail. being too skinny is a sign of drug abuse.

There probably are versions where this song is sung better but the way Audrey sings it here is just perfect for the movie. It simply makes it!!
