NIST didn't claim fire melted steel BUT there WAS melted steel there, again NOT false. Towers DID fall at free fall speed. Building 7 for instance 46 stories fell in exactly 7 seconds. There are a lot of people who saw the impacts with their own eyes - the second one probably thousands and the different videos came from such a variety of sources that every conspiracy theory that even denies passenger planes hitting the WTC are a substantial as stories about pink unicorns.

@redcapedjoker I just met with one of the leading civil engineers in the US two months ago at a convention. He completely annihilated every single point of any conspiracy theorists have brought up. He was very specific about the 'molten metal' issue. After speaking with him, I'm confident that it was less of a 'cover up' than people have mentioned. Still won't trust the government. I'm sure they used the situation to their benefit.
@acmilanfan79 how did this guy explain the molten steel issue? Because there is footage of non-connected beams melting together and large beams banding without cracking. Also the satellite footage showing 1500F heat 1 week later. Was the unusual temperatures explained at all? Also, how come the plane that crashed in pentagon isn't seen on any of the cameras? The next door hotel had their roof cam footage taken by CIA after the even. Hotel owner fought to get footage back in 6 years
@redcapedjoker I'm meeting with him tomorrow at 7pm for a dinner and to go over some of the projects he currently has. He was in graduate school during 9/11 and in class at University of Illinois. His professor who actually worked in the private sector consulting for the building of skyscrapers was watching the attack and started talking to the class about how long the buildings would stand before they fell. The professor was right with a 5-10 minute margin.

So the technical reason why the buildings fell was that the buildings are built to withstand that type of heat intensity. the problem in 9/11 was that the planes took out the integrity of the building as soon as they hit it and the structures didn't have the designed reinforcement anymore to withstand the heat for that long. I, as a mechanic, spent many years cutting and melting metal. Oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutter and MIG and TIG welding.
But I've also seen metal fatigue and failure due to heat. The most obvious example that comes to mind is an exhaust manifold I pulled off of an early 90's Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder motor. It was the factory original, but was old and warped and needed replacing. It had spent 15 or so years being exposed to temperatures of several hundred degrees....
Not 800 to 1500 degrees, but several hundred. After I pulled it off, and to demonstrate to a new mechanic we had in the shop, I took a hammer--not a sledge, just a regular ball-peen hammer-- a smacked it. It shattered like porcelain. And this was just pot metal, just junk cast iron, and it shattered into a dozen pieces. That's what heat does, it degrades metal and it causes it to fail. It doesn't need to melt, and in fact, in the WTC, it didn't melt. Steel melt at 2700 degrees...

@redcapedjoker No-one pulled snifer dogs from the site, The Article headline states 'sniffer dogs removed from wtc' or words to that effect but the article goes on to say that the ammount of dogs were reduced from 24 to 12, or 12 to 6 one of the two. Sniffer dogs were removed, but only back to a normal level.

The largest building up to 911 was a 35 story building in chicago I think, it took 3 months just to prep it for demolition, without workers, security guards/cameras and full access to the building. @ConspiracyCult they used a military drone planes for the towers. Many of the witnesses who saw the planes described them as having no windows when 747s have many windows. And as for the pentagon there really wasn't any plane there buddy. No plane was captures on any of the dozen cameras in the area. Near by hotel's roof camera had a perfect view of the area. CIA agents took footage, after lawsuit 6 years later the footage is back and it show NO PLANE. No wing marks on building.

Nothing had to melt. nothing had to become "molten," it just had to reach a point of such degradation that it failed. Heat will do that. It will weaken steel. The only "explosive" that will turn steel "molten"? Thermite. Not exactly the tool of choice for bringing down a building...

It is the classic example of a reversable reaction. back at the turn of the century, the reaction of iron and steam was used as an industrial process for the manufacture of hydrogen. He was very specific about the 'molten metal' issue. After speaking with him, I'm confident that it was less of a 'cover up' than people have mentioned. Still won't trust the government. @redcapedjoker I'm meeting with him tomorrow at 7pm for a dinner and to go over some of the projects he currently has. He was in graduate school during 9/11 and in class at University of Illinois. His professor who actually worked in the private sector consulting for the building of skyscrapers was watching the attack and started talking to the class about how long the buildings would stand before they fell. The professor was right with a 5-10 minute margin.

So the technical reason why the buildings fell was that the buildings are built to withstand that type of heat intensity. the problem in 9/11 was that the planes took out the integrity of the building as soon as they hit it and the structures didn't have the designed reinforcement anymore to withstand the heat for that long. I, as a mechanic, spent many years cutting and melting metal. Oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutter and MIG and TIG welding.
But I've also seen metal fatigue and failure due to heat. The most obvious example that comes to mind is an exhaust manifold I pulled off of an early 90's Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder motor. It was the factory original, but was old and warped and needed replacing. It had spent 15 or so years being exposed to temperatures of several hundred degrees....

After I pulled it off, and to demonstrate to a new mechanic we had in the shop, I took a hammer--not a sledge, just a regular ball-peen hammer-- a smacked it. It shattered like porcelain. And this was just pot metal, just junk cast iron, and it shattered into a dozen pieces. That's what heat does, it degrades metal and it causes it to fail. It doesn't need to melt, and in fact, in the WTC, it didn't melt. Steel melt at 2700 degrees...

@Daneoid81 the only thing is fake is Fox News. As far as I know all those photos were taken from magazines or televised news at the time. You get two non-connected beams melting together in a cross. How is that not a proof of molten steel present? Also did you know BBC News reported the complete collapse of building 7 twenty minutes before it collapsed? Are they profits or did they read a pre-made story at the wrong time. The news are corporate owned, their product is your opinion.

@redcapedjoker molten metal found 6 weeks after was most likely caused by an exothermic reaction between steam and iron at temperatures above 400c. This reaction produces Fe3O4 and Hydrogen. It is the classic example of a reversable reaction. back at the turn of the century, the reaction of iron and steam was used as an industrial process for the manufacture of hydrogen. Now add in gypsum reactions with H2 and CO and we have a great source of SO2 and/or H2S to sulfide the steel.

I'm guessing you've just watched some convoluted, overly compelling 'film' like loose change or zeitgiest and haven't even bothered to see if their facts hold up to scrutiny.
