  • None of you know anything at all. Only a witch knows real fighting, and something else if similar enough to a Witch, and that would be someone like Anderson Silva or a very high level Samurai like Musashi and some very nasty Chinese from the Ancient Land of China whom were schooled in the Martial Arts, and none as deadly as the Five Deadly Venoms.

  • @CrafterApprentice

i don't know whether you're truly crazy or just plain stupid

  • I did Taekwondo for a long time, and then I did a trial lesson on Wing Chun. I sparred with the teacher and wasn't even able to hit him once. We sparred for 30 minutes, but I couldn't touch him once. Not one single punch landed. I find it so ridiculous when people say that "Wing Chun sucks". They have no idea.

Surely, Wing Chun and a lot of other arts (like Taekwondo as well) are being trained the wrong way. But the art itself is ridiculously strong.

I was really fast, but not once...

  • there is a way to probe it,Go to the ring, octagon and fight.I do not see a kung fu practicioner win in a ufc or pride.Well except cunan lee .el Guy the sanda kung fu

  • @ronaldtor5: I don't think that a serious kung fu practitioner will go into a competition that restricts them from fighting 100% (meaning eyegouges, throatpunches, groinkicks and other techniques that effectively work in the street.)

When you fight, you fight 100%. You can spar with eachother if there's nothing on the line and learn from eachother but fighting over prestige and belts is not helpful in the long-term. On the contrary, it will more often deteriorate your body and mind.

  • @ronaldtor5

a ring is not real life ronaldtor5, it has all sorts of rules you need to apply yourself to.

believe me when you learn several styles of martial arts-NOT SPORT- you don't get into fights because you know many lethal moves, a more balanced matchup would be a soldier versus a master of martial arts on hand to hand combat, in a concrete house. provided they have no weapons i give my money to the martial arts master. people like paul vunak, benny jet or dan inosanto train special forces

  • this is not my opinion, it is a fact. look it up for yourself.

dan inosanto and his students paul vunak and rick young, not only helped DIRECTLY INVENT US NAVY SEAL TRAINING (search paul vunak) and rick young teaches the same moves that israeli commandos use. to name a few, because i am sure they also had to do with police and military training in the philippines. dan inosanto is a master of several martial arts, only rivaled by benny the jet and bruce lee himself, and then his studen paul vunak

  • they will tell you kung fu is not child's play.

did you know the bodyguards of mao zedong practiced kung fu? they were lethal, they also invented their own form of kung fu when they fled to south america. it is devastating

  • traditional kungfu is the root of modern styles but you have a clear misunderstanding of drunken boxing wingchun and mantis boxing its really quite sad. mantis boxing does not resemble mma fighting even in the slightest. if you mean mantis uses throws and grappling then you are correct but a mantis style fighter would be much more skilled than a ufc fighter. actually all traditional kungfu styles have grappling and throws that includes wingchun and drunken boxing.

  • traditional martial arts are more practical for street fights in fact. moves like stepping on feet, groping below belt, kicking of the groin, are all practical n usable moves in the street, in modern martial arts, lots of dese are taken out, as they move into the ring, safety is taken into consideration. TMA works

  • you got some smart ideas guy. i realized a lot of the same things myself. i've seen hundreds and hundreds of traditional forms. its hard to disceminate all of it, but its not that traditional arts are uneffective. it is more correct to say that traditional practicioners are lacking in athletic ability and competitive experience and practicality.

  • good stuff hopefully people will open up their minds more

  • my cousins friend does drunken boxing he can kick ass while hes drunk for real

  • i really appreciate those videos of yours, but i would recommend you to compare the real combat situation just with the traditional kung fu, and not moderns ones.. cause those are just dancing tricks ^^.

traditional kung fu have an application of every single technique, even if you can't catch some of em in a taolu or whatever.. still, i don't think using kung fu is the best way to defend yourself in a real fight, you can use your experience with it, but not, for example, the drunken moving lol!

  • you got good points here. i remember when first started getting good at boxing i stared to put my hands far out bent like a mantis and tucking in my chin behind my shoulder not realizing where it came from. and i seen that it impossible for my opponent to get in because he'd have to hit my hands b4 he could get to my face and that trigger'd me to hit or get back becuz my face was so far from reach. then i realize wat it was. it got to the point where i had to let him hit me becuase felt bad 4him

  • Hey, just wanted to say that you really know your stuff as far as application and martial arts usage in modern day are concerned. Great video and great work. Keep it up!

  • great video!!! its sad how narrow minded some fighters are thinking modern lol

  • Awesome vid, you should do one on how BJJ invented absolutely nothing and that Wrestlers and Judoka (Before modern rules) have been doing every move that the Gracies cliam they invented for thousands of years.

  • Congrats to this guy. I've studied Lau Gar and severall chinese arts before I moved onto aikido and mixed martial arts and all through my career I've been taught the practicality of the style. I'd have it no ther way. I learned much of the so called drunken style and have seen the practicality in it. Drunken boxing was never intended as a complete style, more as a set of principles to add to your fighting style

  • What do you mean in the end about the peekaboo stance that it shouldn't be use lightly, didn't rampage jackson use it successfully in MMA? I think any stance shouldn't be use lightly on any street, why mainly the peekaboo stance?

  • including the shaolin gung fu

  • you still got to admit wushu is awesome to look at

  • love the music, too

  • Seems like nowdays traditional arts have been ruiend as they came to the US... Now theres lots of fake teachers that just want money... But back in the day, people trained all their lives to be good at kung fu

it isent a easy thing to be good at. Though I find the basic movements of Karate to be more effective and more powerful, I cannot help but respect kung fu as the orgin of my Karate. Kung fu is pretty, but choose a right one, and it can be deadly. I personally like wing chun best =D

  • that is known as McDojos

  • good stuff, good research, very objective and really informative, i like to see things like this on the internet, people should know a lot more about traditional styles, youth in this days is very far away from it, they are becoming blind groupies of BJJ or any other style they just saw on tv, and they practice these styles without discipline or values, avery martial art comes with a tradition behind, and its for a very important reason.

  • egads is this castlevania music? I know ive heard it before from back in the day.

  • street fighter 2. these songs are from the arcade version on which the sound was so much better than the snes

  • i disagree i like the snes version better... but good good good vids... keep em comming also look up Snow Tiger Kung Fu or Lin Kuei.. youtube some1 name Genob7 ... das the style lemme know what u think

  • awesome videos where does the sound track for this video and the one befor it come from. it sounds like old video game theme music i love it

  • great vid. very educational. i appreciate your effort dude.

  • True traditional martial arts involved a whole lot of weapons. Spear, short sword (or dagger), stick, etc..

  • Drinking while doing drunken style will get your neck broke.

  • i drunk when i do drinkinb style./ it makes me a verrer fighter. i wiun lot more.

  • it makes him better at typing as well it seems

  • hahahaha good one man lol!

  • He talks about being unpredictable in regards 2 drunken boxing. Those are the same principles of Capoeira, which alongside drunken boxing, many people take it as a joke. When in reality, being unpredictable is one of the best fighting tactics 2 have. If u throw the same offensive & defensive manuvers over & over again, ur opponent already knows u & how u fight. If u fight 2 be unpredictable, it's harder 2 predict where ur coming from & 2 predict ur next move.

  • drinking heavliy while doing drunken stly has its advantages and disadvantages

  • I think it's only possible doing thinks like "drunk" boxing in a ring when you are extremely good in your boxing/Muay Thai basics,

People like Muhammed Ali, who fight with their hands low and dancing around their opponent are only able to do it, because their basics are so damn good, better than their opponent's.

  • you would be 100% correct. there are simpler ways to fight and probably more useful most of the time, even if i made this video i still think it would be the most difficult martial art to learn

but the reason i made this video is because some bullshido people dismiss the whole of oriental arts without even considering that they might be washed down by tradition over the centuries. thanks for your comment very good observation, as for me i'll stick to simpler things for quite a while

  • Very good video

  • Heheh. Nice. I practice drunken boxing and wing chun, myself. Of course, I still train and build muscle with MMA and poxing styles but my style is mostly those two. Then for weaponry I've been watching some of chosonninja's videos. You should check them out. Sorry if I've already said that. My memory is a bit busted.

And of course classic stylisations have affected modern sport. The signs are all around.

  • choson is great. i wish i had asian weapons, the only lesson of his that i could follow was the bo staff that i practiced with a broomstick :P.

on the other hand i do own a few european swords (Sabers) and i know fencing which isn't as effective as kendo but i try to pick up a few tricks from videos

  • Well there was a video on the chinese longsword. That's pretty close to european. Hahah, maybe I'll send you some bamboo, then.
