You should hold the other button until your speed hits about 200 mph, and then switch. You accelerate faster that way, try it.

How did you manage to recover from skidding so fast? Is this the NES version of the game?

BTW, I first played this game on the Game Gear back in 1993 (^_^). IMO, it was harder than the NES version I came to play later.

to manage the skidding, just press the arrow to the direction where the car is skidding, dont try to pull it back in the other direction. I loved to play this game, specially for the 400 km/h hahahha....!

Me encanta ese juego de Road fighter yo más lo conosco como los carros chocones ya que cuando jugaba me encantaba chocar con los demas para no perder chocando al costado rapidamente rapidamente presiono las teclas de todo el alrededor rapidamente, con una tela para que te proteja la yema del dedo y es mas facil. y me mataba de risa en algunos cuando hacia que se maten solos, en la course 4 hay una parte que puedes destruir al 1er camion ponerte detras hasta que aparesca una obra en el medio.

As for me, I oftenly get frustrated playing this game but as you get the grip on it you absolutely enjoy it..but then again when you are too expert playing it you can easily get bored..maybe coz this is an old game..perhaps..the tips on the first course is to drive on the right lane and stick as close as you can at the border..this is good especially when avoiding the red and blue car which is maybe driven by drunken master..hehehe..

Zippy Race is definitely tough on 2nd loop plus. Not to imply I beat the second loop of it... :(

Road Fighter is definitely crashprone at 400mph. Sometimes I chicken out and use the low speed, 199mph. It's more exciting to go faster though, but I'm not sure about fuel econonomy of these respective modes. Hrmm.

FZ = ownership and pride!!!

And if you are in the racing video mood, there's always the horse level of Circus... ;)

Heh, that actually wasn't meant for drama. Road Fighter can be kind of touchy, even on the first level. I didn't slam into that truck on purpose either -lol-. But it is great for pick up and play, as I mentioned in the Zippy racer vid, this game is more challenging out of the box, though Zippy surpasses it on subsequent circuits.

Formation Z is on its way tonight or tomorrow, hopefully.

Dude, nice dramatic touch spinning out just as Konami Man makes his appearance - which he won't if you crash before that point.

This game is ill, perfect pick up and play, make-your-own-"story"-for-fun game. I've played this many times in my day.

Not sure which of the four repeating levels is my fave. Looking forward to your upping the rest of them.

With all of these seminal multicart hits, can FOrmation Z be far behind? ;)
