@jowrab You really couldn't be further off the mark there if you tried. Fanboyism doesn't come into it. You people have destroyed gaming, everything now MUST BE dumbed down to your level or it's doomed to fail. Gamers like you are the absolute worst thing about gaming today, and depressinly there are millions of you.
i say the monk dude he is a great player for noobs but also i would go with the grandpa for advancers because u school everyone in the campian even the noob at the ende with the shiny skin and pretty much every charecter in the game put together
These are fine for a beginner but punish you more if you buttonmash. This is actually a good thing. My Wolf-playing friend learned higher level play than my Pai-playing friend in the same time, because Pai could afford to be sloppy now and then.
Don't pick Akira, Lau, Lei Fei, Sarah, Brad, Kage, Jeffry or Shun Di. You don't want to be diverting your attention to stances and technical execution while starting out.
I've read all these comments, and I just gotta say - those who go ripping on Virtua Fighter, but then turn around and defend crap like Soul Calibur/Dead or Alive/Tekken truly don't know what the hell they're talking about when it comes to 3D fighters.
Virtua Fighter is the game that started the genre of 3D fighting in the first place, and to this day remains the absolute best game in the genre.
VF is easily one of the deepest fighting games ever made - if not THE deepest ever made.
All of the fighting styles depicted in VF actually exist in real life, and all the moves in the game were recorded with motion capture by real martial arts masters. Not to mention, the game's engine was developed with the intention of simulating a real-life fight, what with character movements and physics bearing uncanny resemblances to what they would be like in a real-life fight.
And as for Virtua Fighter's core gameplay - all the basic combat functionalities are very well-balanced, & must be used wisely or else your opponent will punish you. Not every move can be blocked depending on your position, jumping attacks/movements will not always help you, and the dodge window is VERY narrow and can only be done depending on the angle of your character as well as the angle of your opponent's attack - and the same rule applies for reversal-type moves as well.
Also, each of the characters in Virtua Fighter has a whole ass-load of moves, and just about every one of them is useful for at least one thing. But on the flip side, just about every move in the game also has AT LEAST one weakness that can be exploited depending on the situation at hand.
Strict timing/loads of technical skill/mind-games galore are what it takes to win in Virtua Fighter - completely unlike most other 3D fighters.
And the characters themselves are insanely well-balanced. Sega-AM2 actually takes the extra time to go into the game and remove as much of the broken bullshit as possible. And whatever broken stuff they do find, they remove from the sequel.
Seriously folks, Virtua Fighter is so balanced that it is pretty much the one fighting game around in which tiers do not mean anything at all. The one and only thing that I have EVER seen determine a victory in Virtua Fighter is the skill level of the player.
Well spoken. It really gripes me that the masses that defend Tekken, DOA and Soul Calibur... are the same group of people who still do not have enough respect for Virtua Fighter, or any whatsoever. VF has been and always will be THE BEST 3D fighter of all time...
when i played VF4, I feel difference in tekken( i played tekken since tekken 3)...very hard to master than tekken specially the guard system(unlike tekken u just neutral the joystick or down backward or downforward for auto parry)...now i understand why VF pros insist the depth of this game and I though it just one of factors
It depends of perspective. As a long time VF player, I find Tekken guard system broken. Some moves that are supposed to be low like Nina's papillon palm are high. Neutral joystick for all characters completely ruins the game IMHO. All that after trying in vain to get into all Tekken series.
World sucks. Next we'll see Sonic and Mario in the same game, Darth Vader in Soul Calibur and Tekken 6 will have 5 usable moves per char, but still sell more than VF5. ...oshi
VF will always be the best fighter out there. Your opinions that Tekken 5 and other games are even close to it just fund why gaming as both a hobby and a fanbase was more fun in the 90s. Back then a game was about its gameplay. Now people even factor HD gaming as a degrading factor in the face of design, and have no patience for deep games. The same wildfire has spread and killed many fun franchises, Shenmue and other classics included.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Come on man, VF is good but the system is far too complicated IMO and is less fun to play than Tekken 3,4 or 5. If your an expert on this game which many ppl are who play tournaments, then this can be regarded as the best fighter. But id rather play tekken or mortal combat since they have more interesting characters and moves and is easier to play IMO.
Actually, i must say that from a technical point of view 2D and 3D games can't even be compared...
Even though in my personal opinion I still believe u can do much more in a 3D game than in a 2D, the conception is so different that well, we can say both are original in their own way.
I will correct and say VF games are more realistic.
Come to think of it, maybe, this is what i truly like about it. Some would say this lack originality. Well, everyone has their own tastes and preferences.
PS: BTW, no connection but I started learning Kungfu at a school when i was 12 years old, and i'm practicing with my father since 10... I still think that what u can learn from fighting movies (or games) are not to neglect. Contrary to what it may looks, some moves can be quite useful too.
It's only because they say there was nothing new added. But the SF series were considered the best of 2D for years and years, so... Although i prefer SSFII to all others.
You ask for respect when you put down 2D fighters, i don't understand. Coming from a martial artist, that, I don't respect, in fact, that just tells me, you don't know shit about kungfu.
I practice wrestling and Judo (for years) BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VIDEOGAMES. If putting down games or other people is all you can do, I have no repect in what you have to say. I don't get you, you are very hypocritical. Everything you say can go for every other game out there.
Well, I guess u won't understand unless u play the game. Please don't tell me i don't know shit about kung fu when u don't practice urself. I don't remember putting down 2D video games, I just said 2D video games were more about flashy moves, and people do like this about them. Tell me u can attack me with a hadoken in real life, then i'll shut my mouth.
VF creators always said they made their games as a dedication to all martial arts even if it may not look attractive to all the audiences, they don't care. Same for Shenmue (u probably don't know about this game either).
While take a look at DOA = fan service lolicon big boobed girls
Tekken = robots, electrecity in punches??, living deads, half animals half humans, cyborgs and so on. They don't care a shit about matial arts. They try to attract the audience with cheap appealing.
And u suck, if u can't afford to see what can be used in real life and what cannot when u watch a movie or a fighting game.
+ try to fight people who can really punch and kick then dare to tell me timing is not important. Yes, it applies to most of the games but much more with VF. This is a well know fact to any hardcore game player. And if u read reviews about VF from magazines they'll all tell u so. I only repeating a well known reality.
It may have sounded foolish when i talked about "vital points" for a fighting game. My english may not be good enough but i just wanted to tell that in VF there are postures u can take that make u very vulnerable to ur openent, while it allows u powerful attacks, and others in the countrary that can be used to dodge (apart from the dodge touch). And sorry, I was not the only one who said VF was a good figting simulation, it's real martial arts masters who were asked their opinions.
"real martial arts masters who were asked their opinions"
That shows again how Yu Suzuki and his team care about reflecting reality, and their interest to martial arts espeacially in "chinese martial arts" (Yu Suzuki).
"They try to attract the audience with cheap appealing."
Sorry, i guess i must say it's just another way to attract the audience... nevertheless they are taking distance from the real mean of a fighting game. That is, the fighting naturaly.
"u know all the combos of one chara. and u are considered a hardcore player"
Is this the line that shocked u? I was thinking of GGX and SFA when I said this, but don't u think it's mostly the those who knows the best combos who win the fights (when u watch the finals in competitions)?
While in SFII there's not that much combos, so u can't "cheat" (except with ryu and ken), sorry for that word. That's why SSFII is my favourite...
I play 3rd Strike, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Tekken 5, Guilty Gear XXSlash, Melty Blood, Capcom Vs SNK 2, Soul Calibur 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3, SSmashBrosMelee and some of everything else. I don't have friends who play any Virtua Fighter so I never got into it. I've only seen it in Evolution one year and only this year they will have VF5. Fighting games are only good if people play them. 3rd strike has the most competition. Why? cuz it's baddass and you suck at it.
"Fighting games are only good if people play them"
Hell no. VF is not played a lot because it's for hardcore players. You can play only if u practice a lot, so many people just don't have the patience to. Anyway, generally speaking, 2D games are less deeper than 3D's most of the time (few moves)(i play kof because i find some ch are "cool"). Tekken and DOA have success because of their chara. design, their "kickass ambiance" and because the controls are intuitive (anyone can play).
Any player who has got good in both tekken and VF games will admit VF is better in terms of fighting possibilities, it's just that the design sucks. But in VF5 there's no longer this problem. Also any fighter in real life will tell u VF is more realistic. It's based on real fighting moves. VF was and still remains the 3D fighting reference.
Gotta love VF5: best fighting engine + cool chara design. = currently the best figthing game ever
u meAN THE BEST 3D fighting game ever! U can safely consider 2d and 3d fighting games to be totally different genres, as both offer a totally unique experience.
It still means you suck at 3S, MVC2, GGXX, and T5 because you "just don't have the patience." (Man you had that one coming) If you're saying, "because it's for hardcore players," any game could claim itself to be "for hardcore players" I mean heck, Clayfighters is "for the hardcore players." VF5 sucks because I don't know anyone who plays the damn game. I guess playing AI is pretty "hardcore."
Don' tell me 2D games are not repetitive. I don't like MVC2 and GGXX because I think (pers. opinion) their chara. has no style. I already told u i only play 2D games when I find some chara. cool, while i know it's a bit repetitive, i just enjoy waching the moves.
On 2D, actually i mostly play with K' from KOF. I won't say I'm a pro but i trained enough to finish KOFXII and delock all the chara. and added options, I can easily beat the AI in the hardest mode (i guess it's not that a big deal though).
When i play a VF i need a lot more concentration. It's not just about "u know all the combos of one chara. and u are considered a hardcore player." You need a lot more timing, anticipation, feints, and u have infinite combinition possibilities to create ur own combos. U feel a lot more like u're figting for real. That's why VF5 was considered as a good figting simulation even by real martial arts masters.
Fighting games are not all about flashy spectacular fancy moves, if this is what u're looking for, go buy some naruto games.
If u can't appreciate the real value of a VF, that means u're just a cheap guy who only plays fighting games to feel like their taking it out on somebody (like a lot of the main audience...).
Ps: I'm not telling u to get rid of ur 2D games nor am i saying that Tekken and DOA suck. I'm only asking people to show a bit more of respect to the founder of 3D fighting.
All you really need to tell me is why you like VF5. I believe that all fighting games could be equally good. I mean SFAnniversary didn't get a good rating (on sites and magazines), yet so many people play it to play 3S, it's not about rating or what another person thinks about a game, it's what the player thinks. You are right, I am cheap, I can't afford a PS3. To me PS3 is going down hill and investing into it will be a big waste of money. Um KOFXII hasn't been out yet...
I practice kung fu, and i'm used to do amical fights with my friends. When u're in a real fight, u always have to observe, ur openent, see how he reacts to ur feints, anticipate, then strike in the good timing. People who only knows to attack because they think their openent won't have time to think or because they suppose that if they attack exessively they'll some how manage to get one blow in, most of the time, they got owned severly agst experienced fighters.
What i like about VF5, is this depth in the fights. In fights if u don't pay attention and let ur "vital points" opened, u're done for (ex: BOXING). When u play VF5, u kinda have this feeling that at any mistake, u're dead. It is not always the one who attack the most who win the mach. If u fight against Wolf for instance, he can get u KO with only two strikes (no combo). U have to fool ur openent to win. And u have to do it quick. VF is the only game that can reflect this reality so well.
Plus the fact they u can customize ur characters' oufits, the very cool design, the amazing graphics etc.
Plus i like how the game is done so that experinced players definitely can't loose against beginners, or should i say they often get them perfects. Contrary to SC for instance, though i love this game too.
But anyway, i can understand u don't wanna buy a PS3, it costs too much, indeed.
I was always frustrated to see how there's always ony a few characters in VF. But, each character has so much to be discovered that u can spend months with only just one of them. Certainly the game was done that way on purpose. But if u don't have the patience...
Street Fighter 3rd strike is an example of why Street Fighter is no longer popular and tournaments are rarely held. The game is wowfully unbalanced anybody just can pick up Ken, Yun and Chun Li. There is no real inovation in the fighting and many of the Street Fighter games like Turbo and MVC 2 have not aged well.
Games like King of Fighters and Virtua Fighter have aged well because there is a deep fighting system and balanced gameplay.
SF3S is balanced well, hell tournaments are won with Alex, Dudley and even Ibuki. MVC2 is the MOST PLAYED GAME AT EVO EVERY YEAR. Kof is FAMOUS for being unbalanced, remmeber KOF03?? KOF hasent ages well, its popular in err...err...Korea? KOF96 still remained the most played for balanced, ages well.
Maybe you shouldnt base your posts on polls you find on forums?
maybe you should go jump off a cliff and die now shut it mvc 2 is for losers who tap buttons and i dont base my shit off forums maybe you should try playing some real fighting games dummy street fighter 3 is tilted toward yun chun li and ken and alpha 3 was popular for only i dont know a few moths till people realized that crouch canceling and the air recovery sucked unbalanced? play kof 98 and oh learn how to spell (ages?)
SF3 is an amazingly skilled and fine tuned game system; amazingly unbalanced and unfair character roster however. MVC2 takes skill to do them combos, but its cake when you can. VF4 isn't about the skill in execution or combo memorization, or such, but rather psychology and how good your defence is. Knowledge of the physics engine and character crumples is good, too.
even street fighter games like SVC Chaos are balanced, and street fighter has only gotten better with each installment. What exactly are you talking about?
DAM what was I thinking I played SVC the next day after posting this and found an infinite combo with Geese. SVC isn't balanced at all! (But thats not officially a SF game anyways)
"street fighter has only gotten better with each installment"
Umm, no it hasn't.
SF2: Sorry, but Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo automatically makes ALL of the other SF2 rehashes completely unplayable.
SFA3: V-Ism's Custom Combos totally break the game. Plus, the crouch canceling/bad air recovery doesn't exactly help.
SF3 Third Strike: the engine itself is great but the character balance is terrible. All you really need to do in order to win is to whore out Ken/Yun/Chun-li all day long.
After Tekken 2, it became a piece of crap. Keep in mind that Virtua Fighter 4 was made as competition to Soul Caliber 2. Not only was it better than that SCII, but it prevailed against Tekken 4's boring old system and DOA 3's Lame Reversals. VF4 is even better than Tekken 5 and DOA4 if you ask me. All you Tekken fans need to hop off Kazuya's meat already. Lightning on one's fist stopped being cool after the Street Fighter movie.
i dont agree with vf4 being better than sc2. I think their about even if you ask me. SC2 has the coolness of a 2D fighter and the deepness of a 3d fighter (like vf4).
sc2 deepness????????, lol I didn't feel any diff between the 1 on dreamcast where is your deepness if the game didn't change since 98? LOL why does people talk when they don't know anything? I mastered nightmare in 5 minutes because I playes SC But I could even win a fighhting with sarah after nearly 10h in VT4 despite I played the 3 so now answer me which game is the have more depness? NOW YOU KNOW lol
I'm not sure the GI and counters make SC or DoA bad games, but it makes them a lot less interesting. VF4 requires you to use your loaf and it's probably the only fighter where even the practice mode is fun. Yes it takes some time to get good at, but the controls feel so great that I can't see why you wouldn't want to learn it. But obviously the public would rather continue to spend their money on Namco's inferior, rip-off series Tekken.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
How is it inferior? seriously there is no best fighting game, Tekken has more characters, more modes and interesting characters than Virtua Fighter. Mortal Kombat is great and so is DOA . I like VF but find the others more fun to play than VF.
isn't there air juggles for VF5 too? In fact I saw a combovideo for an older version of VF will 100% air combos. All I'm saying is that, VF5 has air juggles too.
Tiers exist in VF like every fighting game but overall the game is extremely balanced. There is no one character that dominates. And tournament play is usually pretty well represented for every character.
I've seen tier lists, but they don't make a whole lot of sense to me. Akira's in the middle tier, supposedly, but I've seen plenty of top Japanese players with Akira. Virtua Fighter is the only fighting game I've seen where just about any character has a fighting chance. I think the least used characters are probably Sarah, Brad, and Goh. That's just a guess from what I've seen of tournament play.
@jowrab You really couldn't be further off the mark there if you tried. Fanboyism doesn't come into it. I don't know why people speak of KOF. They made so many versions of the game, people are only favoring certain versions. KOF is only for the fans.

Why? cuz it's baddass and you suck at it.
lukass64 4 years ago
"Fighting games are only good if people play them"
Hell no. VF is not played a lot because it's for hardcore players. You can play only if u practice a lot, so many people just don't have the patience to. Anyway, generally speaking, 2D games are less deeper than 3D's most of the time (few moves)(i play kof because i find some ch are "cool"). Tekken and DOA have success because of their chara. design, their "kickass ambiance" and because the controls are intuitive (anyone can play).
tamplet 4 years ago
Any player who has got good in both tekken and VF games will admit VF is better in terms of fighting possibilities, it's just that the design sucks. But in VF5 there's no longer this problem. Also any fighter in real life will tell u VF is more realistic. It's based on real fighting moves. VF was and still remains the 3D fighting reference.
Gotta love VF5: best fighting engine + cool chara design. = currently the best figthing game ever
tamplet 4 years ago
u meAN THE BEST 3D fighting game ever! U can safely consider 2d and 3d fighting games to be totally different genres, as both offer a totally unique experience.
yoshi1825 3 years ago
It still means you suck at 3S, MVC2, GGXX, and T5 because you "just don't have the patience." (Man you had that one coming) If you're saying, "because it's for hardcore players," any game could claim itself to be "for hardcore players" I mean heck, Clayfighters is "for the hardcore players." VF5 sucks because I don't know anyone who plays the damn game. I guess playing AI is pretty "hardcore."
lukass64 4 years ago
Don' tell me 2D games are not repetitive. I don't like MVC2 and GGXX because I think (pers. opinion) their chara. has no style. I already told u i only play 2D games when I find some chara. cool, while i know it's a bit repetitive, i just enjoy waching the moves.
tamplet 4 years ago
On 2D, actually i mostly play with K' from KOF. I won't say I'm a pro but i trained enough to finish KOFXII and delock all the chara. and added options, I can easily beat the AI in the hardest mode (i guess it's not that a big deal though).
tamplet 4 years ago
When i play a VF i need a lot more concentration. It's not just about "u know all the combos of one chara. and u are considered a hardcore player." You need a lot more timing, anticipation, feints, and u have infinite combinition possibilities to create ur own combos. U feel a lot more like u're figting for real. That's why VF5 was considered as a good figting simulation even by real martial arts masters.
tamplet 4 years ago
Fighting games are not all about flashy spectacular fancy moves, if this is what u're looking for, go buy some naruto games.
If u can't appreciate the real value of a VF, that means u're just a cheap guy who only plays fighting games to feel like their taking it out on somebody (like a lot of the main audience...).
tamplet 4 years ago 2
so unfortunate...
tamplet 4 years ago
Ps: I'm not telling u to get rid of ur 2D games nor am i saying that Tekken and DOA suck. I'm only asking people to show a bit more of respect to the founder of 3D fighting.
tamplet 4 years ago 2
All you really need to tell me is why you like VF5. I believe that all fighting games could be equally good. I mean SFAnniversary didn't get a good rating (on sites and magazines), yet so many people play it to play 3S, it's not about rating or what another person thinks about a game, it's what the player thinks. You are right, I am cheap, I can't afford a PS3. To me PS3 is going down hill and investing into it will be a big waste of money. Um KOFXII hasn't been out yet...

"Um KOFXII hasn't been out yet..."
I corrected it. Please read below.

I practice kung fu, and i'm used to do amical fights with my friends. When u're in a real fight, u always have to observe, ur openent, see how he reacts to ur feints, anticipate, then strike in the good timing. People who only knows to attack because they think their openent won't have time to think or because they suppose that if they attack exessively they'll some how manage to get one blow in, most of the time, they got owned severly agst experienced fighters.
tamplet 4 years ago
What i like about VF5, is this depth in the fights. In fights if u don't pay attention and let ur "vital points" opened, u're done for (ex: BOXING). When u play VF5, u kinda have this feeling that at any mistake, u're dead. It is not always the one who attack the most who win the mach. If u fight against Wolf for instance, he can get u KO with only two strikes (no combo). U have to fool ur openent to win. And u have to do it quick. VF is the only game that can reflect this reality so well.
tamplet 4 years ago 2
That's what i like about the game.
Plus the fact they u can customize ur characters' oufits, the very cool design, the amazing graphics etc.
Plus i like how the game is done so that experinced players definitely can't loose against beginners, or should i say they often get them perfects. Contrary to SC for instance, though i love this game too.
But anyway, i can understand u don't wanna buy a PS3, it costs too much, indeed.
tamplet 4 years ago
I forgot to add the animation fluidity in VF5 which is better than TEKKEN6, if I'm basing on what i saw fom the video trailer.
tamplet 4 years ago
I forgot to add I also love this game for its diversity and athenticity to martial arts.
tamplet 4 years ago
I was always frustrated to see how there's always ony a few characters in VF. But, each character has so much to be discovered that u can spend months with only just one of them. Certainly the game was done that way on purpose. But if u don't have the patience...

i kno of a 2d fighter that feels the same way to an even further extent...SMASH BROS MELEE! Make a dumb move playing against pro and your DEAD.

Games like King of Fighters and Virtua Fighter have aged well because there is a deep fighting system and balanced gameplay.
songoku350 4 years ago 2
Songku dont post please, it hurts people.
DsGovier 4 years ago
Even Q!
lukass64 4 years ago
maybe you should go jump off a cliff and die now shut it mvc 2 is for losers who tap buttons and i dont base my shit off forums maybe you should try playing some real fighting games dummy street fighter 3 is tilted toward yun chun li and ken and alpha 3 was popular for only i dont know a few moths till people realized that crouch canceling and the air recovery sucked unbalanced? play kof 98 and oh learn how to spell (ages?)
songoku350 4 years ago
SF3 is an amazingly skilled and fine tuned game system; amazingly unbalanced and unfair character roster however. MVC2 takes skill to do them combos, but its cake when you can. VF4 isn't about the skill in execution or combo memorization, or such, but rather psychology and how good your defence is. Knowledge of the physics engine and character crumples is good, too.
Cabbitpowah 4 years ago 4
even street fighter games like SVC Chaos are balanced, and street fighter has only gotten better with each installment. What exactly are you talking about?
yoshi1825 3 years ago
Auctually, SVC Chaos is not balanced. Athena, Red Arremer, Goenitz, Shin Akuma and Serious Mr. Karate are all broken.
MaximusDread 3 years ago
DAM what was I thinking I played SVC the next day after posting this and found an infinite combo with Geese. SVC isn't balanced at all! (But thats not officially a SF game anyways)
yoshi1825 3 years ago
"street fighter has only gotten better with each installment"
Umm, no it hasn't.
SF2: Sorry, but Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo automatically makes ALL of the other SF2 rehashes completely unplayable.
SFA3: V-Ism's Custom Combos totally break the game. Plus, the crouch canceling/bad air recovery doesn't exactly help.
SF3 Third Strike: the engine itself is great but the character balance is terrible. All you really need to do in order to win is to whore out Ken/Yun/Chun-li all day long.
EnigmaticPhilosophy 3 years ago
sorry, i agree with zin. i've played every tekken except tekken 6, and i still think virtua fighter 4 and 5 are better than tekken.
hate to break it to ya.
sirehedora 4 years ago 3
Whats Tekken? oh, that thing where you launch opponents into the air and dial combos in...
zxclobber 5 years ago

SC2 has the coolness of a 2D fighter and the deepness of a 3d fighter (like vf4).
yoshi1825 3 years ago
sc2 deepness????????, lol I didn't feel any diff between the 1 on dreamcast where is your deepness if the game didn't change since 98? LOL why does people talk when they don't know anything? I mastered nightmare in 5 minutes because I playes SC But I could even win a fighhting with sarah after nearly 10h in VT4 despite I played the 3 so now answer me which game is the have more depness? NOW YOU KNOW lol
thesniper321 3 years ago 2
not to mention SC2 has the stupid Guard Impact much like DOA's counter system...
spam it FOR THE WIN
legendaryhero90 3 years ago
I'm not sure the GI and counters make SC or DoA bad games, but it makes them a lot less interesting. VF4 requires you to use your loaf and it's probably the only fighter where even the practice mode is fun. Yes it takes some time to get good at, but the controls feel so great that I can't see why you wouldn't want to learn it. But obviously the public would rather continue to spend their money on Namco's inferior, rip-off series Tekken.

How is it inferior? seriously there is no best fighting game, Tekken has more characters, more modes and interesting characters than Virtua Fighter. Mortal Kombat is great and so is DOA . I like VF but find the others more fun to play than VF.
Draken4426 2 years ago
isn't there air juggles for VF5 too? In fact I saw a combovideo for an older version of VF will 100% air combos. All I'm saying is that, VF5 has air juggles too.

I think i'll give Virtua Fighter 4 another chance now. After seeing this game play, I think i'll put more practice on this and give Tekken 5 a break.
chocolatethunder85 5 years ago
Tiers exist in VF like every fighting game but overall the game is extremely balanced. There is no one character that dominates. And tournament play is usually pretty well represented for every character.
DonkeyFist 5 years ago
I've seen tier lists, but they don't make a whole lot of sense to me. Akira's in the middle tier, supposedly, but I've seen plenty of top Japanese players with Akira. Virtua Fighter is the only fighting game I've seen where just about any character has a fighting chance. I think the least used characters are probably Sarah, Brad, and Goh. That's just a guess from what I've seen of tournament play.
jackwader 5 years ago
whats the tier list in VF4?
sowutifmahsnsux 5 years ago
sho nuff what Maximus said...VF is the deepest fighter out there and there is always somethin different in matches i love VF ^_^ can't wait for VF5

3rd Strike is repetitive man. Everything they do in that game I've seen 100 times. Virtua Fighter is far more deep than 3rd Strike.
MaximusDread 5 years ago 3
I don't know about repetitive but the main problem with 3rd strike is that excluding 2 player mode it's linear; there are no other modes.
