  • Hey! I am a film student in North Carolina making a short documentary about sea turtles for my class. I love this video, and I was wondering if I could use it for my project? I would really appreciate it! I would of course credit you for it

  • @lbm3116 Hi. Sure you can use it.

  • @quizitta thanks so much! do you have the original video that I could get somehow? I could send you a dvd and return envelope to mail it to me, or you could post it with the "download" option. But I can't take it off youtube as is.

  • imaging finding your closer brother! lol

  • don't most of the baby sea turtles get eaten if they're in the big blue world called the ocean?

  • its amazing how they know right after they hatch they have to go towards the sea..

  • @AnimeLover098 It's amazing that they know which way the sea *is*! You and I can stand up and see it, but their viewpoint is about half an inch off the ground so if there's any kind of rise in the sand between them and the water they really have to pick a direction on faith.

  • @dadoctah i dont think its just faith, im sure they know where it is despite the fact that they might not be able to see. im sure they have a keen sense of smell or hearing. cuz otherwise mother nature is too cruel

  • @AnimeLover098 its the light of the moon actually. They usaully hatch at night, and use the moonlight as a bearing to get into the sea. Thats why beach resorts and such have to turn their beach front lights off during turtle hatching season.

  • @blinkbiker87 o cool! i didnt know tat. <333

  • this one is named andy that one iz named andy and oh yh u cant for get about andy oh and you andy lol

  • Where do sea turtles hatch and do they in canada? cause i would LOVE to see this in person...this is jjust...biutiful!!!

  • i want 1 lol

  • woah thats one mad moshpit

  • go go go!! lol

  • did anyone notice that one of the turtles got out of the hole....and then fell back in (someone pokes it)

  • thats the only time that they are on the beach, when they got born, running to the sea where they will spend 150+ years in.

  • Aww look At'em go! you are so lucky to have seen that up close and personal! I wish i could! They are soo F***en Cutee!!

  • -lol, how cute

  • indimew: 99% of hatchling sea turtles don't even make it to adult hood, so that is a pointless statement...in addition, it doesn't matter where the turtle lays it's eggs...as long as it is on land....they will find land to lay their eggs....after head starting they can just release them on the beach...but they should wait until they are around a foot in length before being released....otherwise they are feeding the fish.

  • Comment removed

  • people = TO THA CHOPPA! turtles = TO THA WATA!

  • it stinks that these aren't head started in captivity to help increase the population....they are just feeding the fish....

  • @TheCrazybaseballfan

The turtles need to hatch on the beach and then make the exhausting journey down it to imprint on the location so that when they're adults, they can come back to lay their eggs.

  • seeing them go into the ocean without any harm made me happy =)

  • @pokemaster1234567899 me too. ;) thank god those people where there!

  • holy shit

  • there like RUN RUN TO THE WATER!!!!!

  • haha.. there so fast!! but when their old there SLOW.. lol

  • LOL turtle fell back in his own hole .

  • You shouldn't really intervene when baby turtles hatch, anything they do by themselves afterwards is very vital to them to gain a better chance of survival, like developing their muscles as they run (crawl, flipflop...idk what to call it >_>)around the sands, and learning to find the waters by themselves

  • love this :) it's like freee we're freeeeeee :D

  • 0:20 LOL FAIL

  • mui bien echo =)

  • Ah just a heads up you shouldn't really touch a baby tutle as it heads for the ocean, if it can't find it itself then its migrations insticts can get messed up. i love the babys though they are adoroable

  • lls thats funni when u toghched i and it started to go away then it stoped then it fell into the whole

  • daerah mana ini?

  • Maybe mommy put the eggs together lol

  • i bet u there all thinking FOR SPARTA

  • hahaha like the first one out of the hole falls back in it hahahahahahahah

  • i love how there's a few that has no idea wtf is going on...

  • lol :20 one falls back in :p

  • It's lovely to see how they know where to go.

  • To War!

  • rur little turltes!! search and destroy!

  • Each and every turtle that survives helps the turtle species survive :]

  • freedom party at the reef everyone

  • very cute little guys. i love how thier flippers go flap flap. so cute. i just hope they all make it.

  • Never touch them ur going to kill them becase they need to do it by them selfs because they need to build muscle

  • why r u releasing them during the day? They need the moon! But very cute btw

  • Freedom!

  • Amazing :o! I'd love to see this

  • SPAWN MORE OVERLORDS

  • i think i saw one of them trip lol

  • i like hpw people help the baby turtles there so cute!

  • What a beautiful sight. New baby turtles going off to explore the world. :]

  • SCRAMBLE!!!!!!!!! LOL they are so cute!!!

  • Sea Turtles are just so cute...i wished many people were like them...

  • how do they find the sea? O_o

  • @cuteboymimmi...i think they find it with their instinct...kinda weird but thats why the mother lays the eggs on the beach, so that when they hatch they could get quickly to the water...unless some big animal eats 'em up first O_O...please people....DONT LET BIG ANIMALS EAT BABY TURTLES....='[ T-T

  • the wonderpart is they all know where to head for the sea ! :)

  • most ppl dun help newly-hatched turtles cas they're often in isolated beaches.

  • what kind of turtles are those are the leathers'

  • :) I have to thank you for helping them out. I love sea turtles and now I know there are a few more out there. :D

  • It's awesome that you are helping the baby sea turtles. They are so precious xxx

  • It was kind of you to assist them to the water. They encounter so many perils on the short distance to the sea that a little assist goes a very long way with them.

  • Wtf, sadistic, much?

  • Cows and pigs aren't endangered animals that are illegally hunted.

  • so cute :)

  • dick go fuck yourself!!!!!

  • xD try watching this with fast-paced rock music...

  • i would keep one or two

  • So sweet. ^.^

  • This makes me feel like holding one XD

  • They're so cute! I love the way they ran across the dry sand, all flippin out. They're too adoreable to be endangered!

  • wow i would love to see that!

they look like giant black ants in the video, lol..

  • beautiful

  • If I was in the ocean and saw 30 little black things running towards me....I'd scream. XD

  • FREEDOM! lol

  • You know, that was a beautiful scene, and made a great video... but because you did that, I don't think 1 of those turtles are strong enough to survive... Environmentalist freaks need to really think about what there doing... If I was in there position, I would have not touched the turtles at all, but made sure nothing would hurt them on there way to the water. Meaning, preventing people coming near them, and preventing predators from coming near the babies. I hope at leas half survived. ^^

  • I don't know where the eggs were kept or if the nest was disturbed prior to the first hatchling moving. Though placed close, the natural instinct to head for the water kicked in.Getting to the water fast avoids some air born predators but that is just a start. Not many make it to the adult stage. Some intervention is needed now and then so people don't tamper with the nests in a bad way.The nests should be left alone, humans etc. make it tough for this species to thrive.

  • beautiful video, what a moment, well done!!!!!! hoping to see this next month on the island of Sal in the Cape Verde Islands!

  • AWH

  • why cant you keep one????

  • because theyre sea turtles and they grow very big...

My friend has one and he is gonna give it to a zoo

it is good to take em in and let them grow up because a lot of turtles die in the wild

  • cause they get HUGE.

  • OMG

    BABIES

  • Beware Of the Segull Birds !

    They will eat them.

  • Its like an army of Zerglings

  • @Buttertoast57 lol this aint starcraft bud, but if they were zerglings then damn, we'd be dead by now lol

  • @Buttertoast57 Dude, I lol'd when you said this. FTW.

  • WOW I THOUGHT CRAB WAZ TRYIN TO COME IN

  • Wow look at them go and i thought turtles were supposed to be slow?! LOL

  • lol shes vietnamese

    shes like

    di di di di

    go go go go

  • thats amazing how you are helping to guide them out to sea. may god bless you.

  • hahaha nice i wish i could be there :}

  • theres so many and so cute

  • I love how they flapped around everywhere! They were all falling into the footprint holes, so cute!! ^_^

  • OMGsoo sute

  • that was beautiful

  • dude o.o that was soo cute O.o

  • that's the Leatherback turtle

  • can people pick them up and put them in the water

  • I was told that the're better heading to the water on their own, so they know where to return later in life, to have their own babies.

  • It is not like they will walk to the exact same spot as soon as they get on to the beach..

It's better to pick them up, especially in well-lighted places, the young sea turtles are confused (since they appearantly move towards the moon/sun) and will head away from the beach. That's what i've heard/read.

  • 0:18

  • OMG A ZERG!! Slowly. o_O

  • 0:18 XD

  • HAHA , I know that was hilarious

  • They should have netting about 6 inches from the sand leading to the ocean so that sea birds can't get to them during their race for the ocean!

  • THATS A LOT OF TURTLES!

  • there so cute its too bad only a few of them will make it most will probably get eaten

  • They are soooo cute!!!

  • thats a good place for turtles to hatch becuase the waves are like nothing

  • since they had them in the bucket they shoulda just put them deep in the water at least to there waist.....1 of the most common ways they die is by trying to get deep in the water...

  • I know you always want to, but you just can't touch them. You could kill them, just by touching them!

    was this video sped up?

  • 100 meter dash.

of course the african one wins pfft.

  • its kinda strange seeing them all running for the see like that .. luk like scarabs from a distance and thru the camera :P

  • 0:19 :D lol

  • aww isnt that nice

  • cool

  • the turtle at 0:26 is like MAMMA! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU! WHY THE HELL DID YOU LEAVE US! YOU SICK BASTARD! GET BACK HERE!

  • i would pick them up and help them :D

  • No you DON'T help THEM!

  • okay

  • They're like "FREEDOM!! RUN! RUN!! TO THE WATER! WE'RE ON OUR OWN! WE'RE COMIN' MAMA!! RUUUUUUUUUUUN!"

  • lol

  • omg theyare so small they look like spiders

  • I'm just curious about what would have happened if she had released them but with the bucket facing in the opposite direction like away from the water... would they all just immediately orient themselves towards the beach or what? it would be something interesting to watch.

  • lol charge comrades!

  • Thank God there aren't any birds around. You aren't supposed to pick up baby sea turtles, but you can certainly shield them from birds as they crawl into the ocean.

  • It's so amazing how they come already programmed as an instict to run to the water!!!

  • They follow the natural glow of the horizon.

  • Oh thank you for explaining it Ellie37713

  • No problem.

There's a problem with brightly coastal cities where turtles hatch, because sometimes they follow the glow of the city instead and end up being easy pickings for birds and run over by cars.

  • Thats so sad I hope theres a lot of help from people, like on the video, but i guess its impossible to keep an eye on all the eggs!

  • i witnessed a hatching in mexico and the birds were just picking them off

even though we were helping we couldnt help them all

  • and once they hit the water almost all of them are fish food.

    it's a hard life!

  • they look like a bunch of mice

  • Its amazing to think that most of these are gonna grow up to be so big!

  • if only, a majority get killed attempting to reach their destinations..

  • Wow that must of been so amazing to watch! Thanks for the great footage!

  • lol one fell back in

  • As Soon As I See A Hole Of Turtels like That Im Gonna Put Em ALL In A Bucket... I Dont want them to die!

  • You shouldnt do that. They have to do it alone :)

  • go little dudes! go!! YAY!!!
