whats this song is all about?every one can understand and translate the song according to his/her ideas and beliefs and how its related to, but the thing is what does Bob Marley mean? to my understanding and knowledge of Bob Marley's philosophy and beliefs, this song is the revolution against Christianity,Jesus peace be upon him and the church,if we have a good look at the lyrics we can see that clear, its anti Christianity, Bob didn't believe in Jesus PBUH,he believes in Rastafari.
i dont know! just the main name stand up for ur right!to me it has nothing to do with union but some ppl understand it that way. so do u think what i said is correct? or not
I know more about Bob Marley and Peter Tosh then probably anyone here. This song is in no way a revolution against christianity. Bob belived very heavily in the bible and everything the bible says, and he did belive in Jesus. Bob and Peter are sayin get up stand up against corruped things like in any cases the government. Bob Marley once said when asked about why he doesnt belive in Babylon or in that case the some of the governments laws he siad "them crucify christ remember"
What Bob is sayin is most people thing god will come and take all your troubles away. But if you want to live right dont wait for god to save you do your best to save your self while your on earth.
Im sick and tired of people livin like the devil and sinning and then before they die they give there life up to got and ask for his forgivness when they should have been good
Eh! but Ill never forget no way: they crucified je-sus christ, thats so much things to say, well to Bob Jesus was crucified, but he retruned as the bible says and its Haile Selassie, not Jesus son of Marry BPUH.
And please do some research about Rasta before you make your oppinion ask and rasta and they will say they belive Jesus was the son of god. Bob in no way ever batterd down another religion. In no way was Bob ever anti any religion. Bob Marley said "I dont stand on no mans side I stand on Gods side."
I have a better idea of this songs meaning then annyone hear and all I'm doing is tryin to make others more knowlegable and help.
well,in too many live concerts Bob says'' Preacher man dont lie to me'' and Jesus peace be Upon Him to Bob marley is haile selassie, the living God. ok
Are you serious what is wrong with telling a preacher not to lie to him?
And in no way is diein and goin to heaven in Jesus name a game. They are sayin were sick and tierd of people who take life as a game then get serious when there diein.
Its just sick how you claim you know Bob so well when what your sayin is poposterous.
Readin the bible will not get you to overstand Rasta. You got to live it man.
I cant belive you would message me sayin you know Bob more then his own family. That is so disrepectful. I guarentee you dont know more Bob then his own family. Come on man its common sence
i know whats rastafari is really good, i have read the king James Bible 5 times in Arabic and English,i know the book well. i read it because of Bob Marley,Bob has his own vision of the bible.
What if your own employees felt they needed better wages, benefits, or working conditions. NO doubt you'd do the same as they do in AFSCME, brow beat them, refuse to bargain with them, and blackmail them!
Union is wrong to associate this song for their course........

But how can anybody get this union crap out of the song?
Seems to me that so-called common sense isn't all that common.
Always,
Robert Mason

If you were refering to this part of the song,
Great God will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
What Bob is sayin is most people thing god will come and take all your troubles away. But if you want to live right dont wait for god to save you do your best to save your self while your on earth.

But you cant fool all the people all the time
