  • A steinway model D costs almost 175 grand. How do you explain a 49 grand for this instrument.

    Thanks for your inquiry. A new Steinway D costs $123,800. This piano is selling on consingment with us, and the consignor is anxious for us to sell the piano. During the last 2 years, the disparity in pricing between new and used pianos has widened considerably. This is a great instrument -- it was selling originally for $65K, and we lowered the price.

  • @sclay050 Just 2 days ago I visited the Steinway Piano Gallery in New Jersey. A model S, the smallest model costs 48 grand. Prices are confusing.
