nice one doc there's been some beautiful flares recently, these ones are a new type for me i shall keep an eye out for more of these bright areas /ribbons . like the yu55 jape , couldn't resist a laugh at all this myself.the only asteroids that will hit us will probably be one we didn't see coming,as we can only moniter so much sky and its vast,but Ce la vie

@mariss711 Actually I just like the music and the Sun so the two seem to go together. My wife is the classical music expert, I cant even play an instrument.

When I was at school we were asked to bring in something that we can play in music lesson. I asked my dad who had a wicked sense of humor what to do & told me to say I will bring in a recorder. So I did & the teacher signed me up for that. On the day I struggled in to school with our heavy Grundig tape recorder - the teacher was not happy

@yodaferret I have been retried for 5 years from working at a leading US defense contractor for my whole professional career as the head of their space physics group. So this has become my hobby (apart from golf), though I wish I could find someone to pay for my time for doing this (and the golf actually, but they dont let high handicappers on the senior tour!) but they all know I am doing it for free anyway so why pay me?

awesome use of the skull I send this to the D& G people who now have AR 1339 a monster death spot which will face us for the next month ,I then asked if the sun stopped revolving and then they gave me the 30 day NOAA forecast Ha ha . I then referred them to the Noaa site but they kicked me out ,oh well , maybe you could draw in some death stars and angry comets in your videos or say the sun will implode caused by Darth Vader in the Brown dwarf death star looming in the distance

With all the technology up in space..why won't they show us a high res version instead of the junk they release? They are lying to the public....

@freecanadian33 Actually that (fuzzy picture) was the hi-res version. The thing is not that big and it is going very fast. Try taking a picture of a football stadium moving at about a million mph at a distance of a few million miles see how fuzzy it looks.

Awesome, Dr. Strong your website is the best! The next great harbinger of doomsday, of course, is the sun it’s self. Apparently all this sunspot, CME, and flare activity is causing the earthquakes and volcanic eruptions around the globe, we are all doomed. A dose of real science education could go a long way toward quieting some of these individual’s fears. Thank you for your time and effort.
