It was recorded 6/24/70 in West Palm Beach, FL so you my friend Lmcdan1313 are right on this one. Of course GFR signed the Capitol contract right after the 1st Atlanta Pop Fest in ’69 (at least rumours saying so…) not the 2nd in ’70.
On the other hand you rockmeyes (who I thank for the posting) are damn right about the existing of the 2nd Atlanta Pop Fest film!!! Actually, I’m trying to buy a 16mm film reel with a small portion of GFR performing at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Fest.
@Lmcdan1313 I think you got it wrong this time my friend , this is a recording from Atlanta , and yes there is a film from that festival not on youtube but there is one
@rockmeyes If there is a film of the Atlanta Pop Fest, where is it? Everyone has been loking for one for over 40 years.Just look on album or cd sleeve and it plainly tells you where the Grand Funk Live album was recorded,Florida, not Atlanta. Grand Funk did not sign a record contract with Capitol until a month after the ATlanta Pop festt.

this was recorded on tour in Florida in 1970; there are NO live recordings of Grand Funk from the Atlanta Pop festival.
