Hi Ken; Thanks for the wonderful video of down home. I may be far away but Port Morien remains very close to my heart. A perfect choice for the music & I really enjoyed reading the comments. I'm sure it took a lot of time on your part but if you make any other videos you can be assured that they will be very much appreciated. Thanks from Tricia Giovannetti in New Caledonia :)
Hi Tricia - I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video - it was fun to put together, and satisfying to receive so many good comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it - it may bring back a few memories. Good to hear from you. Ken
Beautiful Video, I have't been back to Morien In a number of years now, but i think of it all the time. I Used to Live on Hanway St. My grandmother Elizabeth Cochrane still has her house there. Thanks For the Memories - Joe Cochrane
Hi Joe - I remember you well - we've been good friends of your family for many years...particularly your uncle, Fr. Joe, who attended school with me all the way through. Thanks for the great comments. Ken
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Your grandmother was probably from one of the families who worked in coal mining in the village. Thanks for the kind words.
Hi Archie - I'm glad you liked the video. I hoped that it would be something that would give a little snapshot of life here in the past and present. As they say in Cape Breton, "Who's yer mother?". I'm not from Hanway Street, but my father, Hughie, grew up there. Thanks for taking the time to pass on your kind comments. Ken
Hi Carol - Thanks for the great comment - I put together the video with the intention that it would be able to "transport" us back home when we felt like doing so. I hope that everyone enjoys it. Thanks - Ken
Why did I go and pla that now...I couldn't sleep so decided to check through here for a bit. I haven't been back home in years and seeing those images - how can you not be moved.
So many memories and tears when I played this video. Thank you Ken!!

Great video Ken.
I too remember the store when it was Prendergast's and later Bray's.

Someone owes me a box of kleenex... wow! My fathers store (Prendergast's) was a heart stopper for me.

My Mother's home is Port Morien and I spent many summers there as a child.
