  • Pete, Under the leaves of the old tower, as the almond tree blossoms, a friendly swallow has returned. Every year she returns, always in the same day. She crosses mountains and sea to get back here. Only love flees and does not return. It makes you hope in vain, but it does not return. It makes you hope in vain, but it does not return. Godspeed
  • Dove posso trovare lo spartito per pianoforte?

  • amazing !

  • BRAVO MAESTRO!!!

  • BRAVOOOOOO LUCIANONE !!!

  • SUBLIME DELICIEUX PIANISSIMI

  • que sentimiento wow

  • Absolute heartbreaking song,so beautifull, the writer and the performer are a match made in heaven!!!

  • This makes me feel like God has come down and touched my heart as a butterfly would.

  • My favorite Pavarotti, well one of my favorites

  • not many songs can touch my heart - but this one does

  • My absolute favourite..

  • My favorite song. God bless you Maestro.

  • I know this version for nearly 20 years now. Who could forget how Pavarotti sings "In the soft twilight of evening springtime is passing... But I am sad and lonely..." It's like reading your favourite poem in the warm sun. Thank you, Maestro!

  • bravissimo maestro .

  • And discovered many more great opera singers of the last century, the earliest I have seen is 1901 Mattia Battistini.

  • it was this concert that actually began my love for opera, and never be told otherwise, Ilove it.

  • Yeah! Wonderful... i also started to love opera when my girlfriend gave me a VHS of that concert... and i also learned italian since then....

  • awsome!

  • Is this concert avail. on cd or dvd?

  • Comment removed

  • It actually is. Try searching Amazon or other online shops for "The Original Three Tenors Concert".

It took place 1990 in Rome, at the Baths of Caracalla and was conducted by Zubin Mehta.

  • it is to knowledge, when I had bought it 1995 and have seem around in last three months

  • Merci , bravissimo maestro

  • A magnificent performance..

  • I read this unquestionable thruth somewhere:

    "PAV ROCKS"

  • I learned this song after hearing it accompany the Bellagio water show in Las Vegas. Unfortunately YouTube didn't exist then, and the only complete version I could find on the Net was a RealAudio format by a Korean (!) baritone.

I managed to learn it and sing it in front of my entire company three days later - quite a different timbre than Luciano's ringing tenor, but beautiful in its own way. Wish I had a recording of that moment in time :(

  • Luciano, sempre Luciano. Tua voce mai potrà repetirse. Bravo!!!

Tu Rodolfo de Bohème no tiene igual.

  • I just CAN'T LOVING THIS ARIA - and this specific version, and the other one of PAV's Reggio Emilia concert.

  • Sorry?

  • His voice is pure glory.

    ciao luciano ovunque tu sei

  • To me this this is Pavarotti's signature performance. The song is perfect for his voice. When one listens to it, your heart and mind dream of Italy (Sorrento for me) - that wonderous country!

  • What a wonderful virtuoso, his voice will sound forever.

    Riposi in pace Maestro

  • Sotto la gronda della torre antica

    Una rondine amica,

Allo sbocciar del mandorlo é tornata.

    Ritorna tutti gli anni,

    Sempre alla stessa data;

Monti e mare essa varca per tornar.

    Solo amore

    Quando fugge e va lontano

Speri in vano ma non torna più

Speri in vano ma non torna più

  • 100% fitting melody, isn't it? I love this song. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. After E lucevan le stelle, it's one of my favourites :-)

  • Nella penombra dolce della sera

    Passa la primavera.

    Cinguettano le rondini nol volo,

    Ebbre di luce e daria

    Ed io son triste e solo;

    Mia piccina,

    fosti tutta la mia vita;

Sei fuggita e non torni più

Sei fuggita e non torni più

  • Gives me chills to hear that peformance.

  • GREAT SONG !

    5 stars

    grazie :D

  • It is like losing Elvis to us Opera and Classical Musical lovers. Rest well in Piece sweet Luciano, for we will always love you!

  • Pavoratti is of course my favorite tenor..I was devastated with his passing, though I am only in my twenties. We have been so fortunate and blessed on Earth to have shared his gift. This song captures for me a bit of my sweet childhood (For the musical arrangement reminds me of Disneys Sleeping Beauty". But it also capture the resonant, and unforgettable passion of a young fair youth in love! This is one of my favorite songs by this master Tenor!

  • I want to thank my mother for the same! I was ten years old when this concert took place, and my mother introduced me to it when it came out on video cassette soon after. I have loved this performance the most ever since.

  • i especially want to thank my mom for introducing me to this music when i was just a small kid. THANK YOU MOM!

  • Dios mío, como extraño a ese gordito!!!!

  • Meravigliosa! Ciao da Serena:)

  • bravo

    signore pavarotti

  • *sigh* can't believe he's gone. he was truly a master of his craft. commanded whatever stage he was on, has such control and power of his voice. WOW.

  • The Bellagio fountain's feature of this song is really icing on the cake, you have to watch that, it's a unique experience hearing this song, watching the fountain dance to this song up front! Can't describe in words..

Where is this video from? like which concert/what year? it was in 90s right?

  • Rome 1990.First three tenors concert for Italia '90 Soccer World Cup finals.

  • RIP Mr. Pavarotti, The Great!!

It's sad how people like him have to go and aholes like we know who have to stay...

  • Imponente y emocional!!!

  • Your voice was Spring itself. Indeed... Spring, full of flowers and swollows sounds. Your voice will shine forever!

    amazing

    I can't descrybe in words

    Rest in peace primo tenore

  • SEI GRANDE LUCIANO!

    SEMPRE NELLE NOSTRO CUORE..

    Grazie.

  • This too has become my favorite song since I first heard it at Bellagio's dancing fountains a number of years ago. His outstanding voice and zest for life will be surely missed. There will never be anyone to even match him. May he rest in peace.

  • This too has become my favorite song since I first heard it at Bellagio's dancing fountains in Las Vegas a number of years ago. His outstanding voice and love of life will be extremely missed. No one will ever be able to even match him. May he rest in peace.

  • Since my last Las Vegas visit, this is my favorite Pavarotti solo. I am saddened by his death, but uplifted my the immortality of his voice. My thanks, Luciano. You are truly the finest of your kind. RIP, paison.
