i had the pleasure of growing up during the mid-1960s and being young enough to thoroughly enjoy the music of the 1970s and 1980s also. The music of the 1980s was the pinnacle of perfection!!!What happened to the most of the music later in the 1990s and the first decade of this century makes me wish for a return of 1980s metal bands!!!
@GoodGuitarSolos It all started going downhill in the 90,s . Sorry to burst your bubble . Let me tell you who ruled the world . Vivian Campbell,George Lynche,Jake E. Lee,Slash,Dave Murray,Eddy VanHalen,Just to name a few. There will never be an age like that again !
@patter235 Sorry to burst your bubble again, buddy, but that simply ain't true. If you opened your eyes, you'd notice that there is a lot of great music outside 80's too. Every decade has good music, period.
@ johnydafox..you are correct brother the 80's were a great time to be a young man. Wow I miss this shit..and how the girls looked and dressed. Way better than the lazy slutty look of today. great high level voice the lead singer... it reminds me the ex singer of HelloWeen, i like their style in this kind of music.. is always original.. Glam Metal and Heavy are forever ...so is the Speed and progressive Elvis Presley.. Is guilty For This Rock and roll actitud..
I had the pleasure of growing up during the Fan-Fucking-Tasic 80's era of metal. And I always looked forward to headbangers ball on saturday nights. I recorded HOURS upon HOURS of it on vhf. Every so often I grab a 5th of whiskey, pull the tapes out and relive the glory years! Long live metal!
@johnydafox dude... dont even say that. i totally envy you! I'm born in '91 and everyone around me listen to that hip-hop shit... i wish i was born earlier
@johnydafox Don't forget to go out once in a way attending an good open air like Swedenrock and realize that it's in you to keep these times still alive!
freeki'n loved headabnger's ball! Was totally livid when they discontinued. 12;00 am. - 3;00 am. sat nights; then to add insult to injury, they put mtv raps in its place! my hate for mtv has yet to be extinguished.
@hollywood5one50 Then they brought it back 7 years ago, but ruined it! I am sorry, but if you are going to just acknowledge all the Black Metal and Hardcore without even playing some of the classics, then you really do not have a reason to call your show Headbanger's Ball......here's a big Fuck You to MTV!

Have you heard strypers laest single, peace of mind?
It sucks big time
Just because MS was Bostons front man at that point doesn't mean that he can sing what Brad Delp did ,and not sound like he's going to blow his voice out at All!
these guys were KILLER, HARNELL was the KILLER sounding upper register hair metal vocalist, he did it RIGHT as alot of others that TRIED to sing high.............sucked and failed miserably.
A long time ago, bands like this were... what most wanted to be like. Influence was everything. TNT was an influence on all of us. Vocals, "rippin" guitar, solid drums and bass, and a sound nobody else had. Long gone now but I'll bet if an upcomming band remembered where they came from, the sound that started them, it could be heard again. Damn, great musicians built back then.
If he´s really your dad, then you know for sure how good he plays. I was, it´s already 21 1/2 years ago, absolutely blown away by his guitar playing. He´s got that certain something, that not many other guitarists have. Did you inherit a bit of him...I mean his musical talent ??? If yes...upload it on YouTube !!!
I was on their concert last night, Backstage and all :D It was kinda cool to see my dad play guitar so well and that he is still rocking out is so cool.
And I guess I got some of his musical talent. I'm in a band atm called Embryo(I belive there is a vid here on youtube of our first gig, Which sucked because it was the first time we played live) And I play guitar almost all the time. And I'll try and upload some stuff later. Since I have always wanted to get some feedback on my playing. :D
So go ahead...and maybe one day your dad is gonna be the one who says: " Hey...this is my son, he fucking rocks. I wish I´d have been that good in these days ! " Believe in it and the rest will follow; you know: " Everyone´s a star... "
I´m gonna watch your vid; keep me informed about new stuff of your playing.
I'm from the suburbs of philly and years back a friend of mine thought that he may have seen Tony performing back in the 80's either in someone's basement or garage, and he thought that he may have even been doing a cover of Fight the Good Fight (Triumph). It seemed a little far-fetched at the time but my buddy had no reason to make it up. I always wondered about that but could never confirm it either way. Do you have any more info on the philly band you mentioned? Thanks!
My girlfriend is from Philly originally, and spent summers there during college with family. She met Tony once without knowing it was Tony HARNELL, as she was introduced to "Tony, he sings for Thin Ice". She can't explain it, and I don't get it, but it's true, in the mid 80's, he sang for a local Philly band. How he fit that in with his TNT gig, I don't know.
thanks for the additional validation of this vague recollection. Perhaps Tony can chime in at some point - these famous rock stars are people too and I'm sure many of them are searching youtube on a regular basis - if anything just to see what people are saying about them.
How could I know that u were female?. And why r u so fucking pissed? U where the one who started telling shit about this song.. I just replied u.. Get a life.
I think I have a reason to be pissed, moron! I was making a comment about the lead singers vocals. So, why don't you get a life, asshole!!! Retarded motherfucker!

Ok, you stupid fucking moron!!! How can females have balls? Explain that? Go back to school and take sex ed....Then you might actually learn something about the female body!! So, think before you speak, asshole!!!!!
Yeah I would almost say it has a feminine touch to the shoot. LOVE THE SONG AND BAND! Don't get me wrong. This vid really is "Metal Light". They could have done a lot better but still is a powerful song
Say what you will Hair Metal, Cock Rock whatever I saw this band back in the day and saw them as recently as 2006 and they still kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah! .. Great Music ... me fascina esta banda, los riffs de guitarra me llevan al infinito, el rugido del bajo me electriza, los golpes de la bateria marcan los latidos de mi corazon, por el mismisimo diablo quiero morir!! ,
I love this song so great. TNT rocks. It's really amazing. I'd kill to be a teen in the80's. I missed a great decade in both fashion(big hair and colourful clothes) and the most important thing music
You missed it sisters. I turned 12 in 1980 and 22 in 1990, let me tell you it was awesome. Band after band, tour after tour, album after album, the rock never stopped and it was AWESOME. I look back so fondly on the weekends growing up, rocking out to all this great music, lining up to by concert tickets by sleeping outside overnight (no internet), and the times we had were amazing. I truly pity today's youth that think that White Stripes or Coldplay or whatever is rock. They'll never know.
Wow lucky you gave you a thumb up by the way. Yeah I can only imagine and still that won't be close enoigh I guess. Yeah I agree today people think that as you said White Stripes, Coldplay and stuff like Simple Plan, The Acadeny is... etc.(don't ask what kidn of bands that are my sister likes them) that's more punk grunge rock wanna bees. At least this song is music.
This band can kick the ass of about 99.5% of the bands out there today! A shame I wasn't more of a TNT fan back in the 80s. These guys are really good!
One of the best underrated rock bands of all times! Tony Harnell is simply awesome and one-of-a-kind and Ronnie Le Tekro is just a brilliant guitarist with his most unique pyrotechnical leads that is totally original!
nah, depends on how you want to do the song, a version of yourself singing in high key or just normal voice. not that hard if u have been training for a couple of years.
omfg!!! i can't believe you lumped SLASH in with all those other guitarist!! what a tool!

They were the best on stage, with others 8 or 9 bands more...
Great voice, great guitar, great, great!!

JEM777V 3 years ago
if you are in a band tell the singer you want to do a cover of this, then watch his face when he listens to it .lol

I can imagine how this song would scare any lead singer!
vitor68 3 years ago
nah, depends on how you want to do the song, a version of yourself singing in high key or just normal voice. not that hard if u have been training for a couple of years.
browntownboys 3 years ago
It would be hard if you've never had 80's style metal vocal training, and you wanted to sing it exactly like Harnell.
Zalshy 3 years ago
True, it requires a lot of training daily to be able to sing like this.
