hi, I know this might be unrelated to the dizi, but i'm a flute player who has both a western concert flute and a dizi. haven't been playing the dizi much but i have a problem 3rd octave A and Bb keys. It could be my lipping or something, but i've yet to figure it out. Is there a way you could help?
Question. Upon applying the Dimo and trying to get my G (Small Dizi) to sound, I am not getting anything of a sound similar to yours or others I have heard or tried to learn from in programs. The Dizi sounds... Choppy or even Airey.. Do I need to practice more on blowing and gettting the proper sound, or maybe my lips are not as they should be.. It's hard for me to determine.
Hey thanks for this excellent video! i hope with your tipps i will be better playing the dizi, ive got a question! where did you get that whiteboard?! i searched for this but cant find :D
Hello, I wanna know if you can recognize the type of Dizi played in the Okami soundtrack (A game for PS2 and Wii). There are a couple of songs I would like you to check please, depending on this I would buy a Dizi flute for sure, I've got one already but it's in A key and doesn't sound any similar with these songs, These are the names:
Looking up at the Starry Sky
Ushiwaka's Appearance
I wanted to put the links but doesn't work, would you check those songs for me on youtube please? Thank you.
This was very helpful indeed! One tiny question tho, just how tight does my embouchure need to be? I can make a sound with my flute and can even play okay, but my teacher always used to say that my embouchure wasn't 'tight' (if that's the right word) enough. To me, when I look in the mirror it looks fine for playing but when I play I hear a hissing sound, like I'm breathing too heavily and loads of my breath is just escaping over the edge of my dizi. Help?!
Hey really you are good teacher I saw all your videotutorials I have a question I bought one 笛子 but the seller tell me that you are beginer and I must to start with Dizi in E tone and the question is can you give me the E scale if is possible the holes in the dizi and Again you good teacher I like you tutorials 谢谢

I'm sorry, but is it possible to play semitones on the dizi? If so, how can we do it?
I mean, notes outside the intended scale, like sharps and bemols on a C...
