  • those are really good lyrics

  • this is soo beautiful one of the best songs ever made bouth lyrics and instruments

  • @reverse17 Awesome, 2, 3, 4 or 5 :D!?

  • Damn people need to do a little research. Jon didn't kill himself out of depression, or being fed up with life. As a satanist, once the peak of life is reached, it's time to end it, with a smile on your face, rather than leaving this world from disease or old age.

  • @CheezyChucky

    Well said. (lml)

  • This has got to be one of the best black metal songs ever made.... To bad it never will be sung live again.....:(

  • By don't like i meant that the like ratio was at 666, and i didnt want it to change :). I love the song.

  • Makes me wanna play Heroes of Might and Magic

  • @reverse17 lol the 3 is awesome

  • @descendingwinters c'mon, you're the lamest troll on earth! you guys are just getting lazy.

"... sucks" how lame is that? at least put some effort in!

  • @descendingwinters are you deaf???

  • @Hitchhikeroftheyear no shit nirvana can compare to dissection, they are two totally different genres, that's like comparing Steve Vai and Cannibal Corpse, it just doesn't work..

  • the album cover is so badass

  • @Hitchhikeroftheyear you are speaking like a true fan..but not like someone who has true knowlegde about music.music is about creating magic and atmosphere.even bands that have nothing to do with black metal can create dark atmosphere in their songs... jethro tull, yes even led zeppelin did some evil shit. i recomend to listen one song sepultura-we who are not as others tel me what u think about it.

  • @MaxCavaleraification jethro tull is the most awkward band of their time ;-)

  • @Hitchhikeroftheyear what u have against nirvana sir?they were leaders of a whole generation just like dissection was.both bands will never be forgotten.

  • i skyrim to this album /m

  • one of the best albums ever...

  • beyond amazing. this is an anthem

  • Absolutely Insane!

  • thank you! This band made me appreciate true metal! all who try to recreate should give up.. you just can do it. I've been a fan for many a year. Fuck the haters, and fuck the re-creaters. Die and hope they dont mock you in hell!!!!!!

  • @nerobinson2806 Actually, Thulcandra is doing a pretty good job. You should check them out.

  • RIP JON. FUCKIN GENIUS! HONOUR AND GLORY IN DEATH.

  • DON'T LIKE.

  • @MrDblade tell me a reason why!!!!

  • 666 likes. No one else is permitted to like this. Amazing album.

  • Wonderful!

  • this is a fucking masterpiece, no matter what anyone says :)

  • A man without words.. that's what I am after listening to this pure form of art!

  • chouettos

  • To this very day this still one of the most beautiful and powerful pieces of black metal ever created!

  • IMO this is the best ever song by Dissection !!.. this truly introduced me to black metal !

  • i fucken adore <3

  • Overated band.. but amazing song, also check out sacramentum, Non Serviam, Naglfar,

  • @666Desolate999 They're not overrated. Jon Nödtveidt was a good musician that played metal, something which the 90s and later did not have much of.

  • epic guitar

  • \m/

  • i HATE when i read comments of obvious 15 yo goths wannabes with shitty name such as SaTan666 or Fallen13093 or whatever.

  • Don't be sad that John left us. His journey has just begun.

Dissection are an amazingly talented band that will last until the end of time.

  • *-*!!!!

  • There is this insect where the female first attracts the male and fucks him, then kills him and eats him. (Some kinda locust i think)

This is what this songs reminds me of :P

    Dark but beautyful

  • @YTisMyPlaylist either praying mantis or the black widow spider;)

  • @AbsintheGreen66 almost all arachnid females eat their partners after they do it . the praying mantis however eats it's partners head while they are doing it ... fun :P

    RIK Jon .

  • @sayanator Ohlman or Asklund?

  • SUPERLIKE

  • we have 10 christians here

  • @EnMenLuAna I know christians who like Dissection, lol

  • @w00tEpixx 100% agreed. Ohman's blasts on this album are like an atomic bomb going off inside of my sub on my home stereo system. You know exactly what I mean, too. Even on "The Somberlain", his skill is all his own.

  • Ahh I think he is a good drummer but not comparable to George K., Hellhamer or Frost. Dissections music is kick ass nevertheless.

  • This is Just SO Beautifull...

  • @666Desolate999 Agreed. An all acoustic album would have been something great. Though I am a fan of Reinkaos most definitely. Ole Ohman=one of metal's most underrated drummers. His work on this album is a masterpiece in itself. I wonder how many would agree?

  • @VinterNatt1785 I definitely agree with you. He should be up there with Gene Hoglan and Hellhammer and the rest. The guy's a beast. He's not only fast, his technique is admirable.

  • Best Dissection song,

If jon hadn’t committed murder or suicide..then maybe Dissection could have recorded an all acoustic album ala Crimson towers,Feathers Fell… that would have really been something, but instead we got a self centred pompous album like Reinkaos, in my opinion Dissection underachieved, I still think they had one more album in them with that sheer power of the first two, & would have been the true successor to Storm Of The Lights Bane.. which is not perfect or complete IMO

  • the most beautiful song ever..........makes my soul dance........

  • creepy? evil?

you gotta be joking... this is beautiful

  • @nublex

    Well...it can be both.

  • @nublex Creepy, evil... and beautiful!!

  • 5 years on - still good

  • Out of every song this band has ever created, I believe this one is the most perfect. Not a boring moment in the song and the atmosphere is simply chaotic.

  • 9 people should have killed themselves instead of Jon.

  • @lookralphsbak 10 now

  • @lookralphsbak YES.

  • This is real music!!!!!!!

  • man, whether or not he's dead, this song is still bad ass.... Just wish he'd have given us all time to tell him that....

  • He's always had such an evil, haunting voice, now that he's dead it's like he's singing from the grave.............fucking CREEPY.

  • so we made a kick ass album? check. everything is going our way? check. well got to kill myself and hang with kurt cobain. LOSER!

  • Neither Watain nor Naglfar.....Both good bands but only Cardinal Sin managed to approach the excelness and greatness of Dissection in one EP...fuck only one....

  • There is something eerily similar to earlier mayhem(eronymous era) yet its something so different. anyway I'm glad I know about this band.

  • I'm not a huge fan of black metal, but this song is fucking awesome.

  • @TheBlackHeartOfMetal I'm not sure if your familiar with the "poor guy" but he shot himself as part of his religion or something along those lines, so I don't think poor is the right word.......

  • The first time I listened to this song I wanted to know what it said at the

"Touch the snow ... Caress the lifeless sculptures" part, so I turned up the volume all the way. It scared the crap out of me at the "Die!!" part (and my neighbours) :P

Anyhow, awesome song just like every other one on this album and on the somberlain (Haven't listened to their third album yet).

  • when i r pissed this song helps me 2 mellow

  • 6 ppl really ARE gay!

  • @puffintuffer agreed

  • dissection no longer plays but its music will stick in my heart and my mind forever!! fuck yeah!!! beautiful poetry!!\m/!!!

  • This is just a PIECE OF ART!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a MASTERPIECE, like the way they experimented with jazz passages and folk roots, totally unique!

  • @SergioWW1WW2

not to mention their heavy influences from christian rock and Justin Bieber!

  • @hellspawnds ??? was that ironic???

  • @SergioWW1WW2

    dead serious.... <3

  • @hellspawnds wtf?

  • @SergioWW1WW2

    ......you're a dumb ass

  • @IronMaiden5 I seems like there's some ignorant people round here... dumb ass!

  • @SergioWW1WW2 ignorant in what way?

  • @hellspawnds Christian metal??? This is more satanic metal than christian rock(metal) the scream at 4:11 is an angel dying, and try just to listen to their other songs this is more over at soft satanic metal than christian metal. and don't put jusin in metal it's two different genres that you don't combine

  • @bartimaeus666js

Are you sure it's an angel dying? I have reason to believe it's a teenage boy letting off steam. Now what you said about combining Justin B with metal, that's not a bad idea! He clearly has the high pitched voice for classic metal. Or perhaps he could do the "angel dying" scream in future satanic metal songs?

  • @hellspawnds hahaha what a retard. christian rock and justin beiber? what does that mean?

  • fucking amazing song

  • eargasm!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • I must... die, aaaaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhh

  • I meant to do an acoustic/clean version of this for the anniversary of Jon's death but couldn't do it then... Well, I did it now. It's on my page for anyone interested. :) /,,/

  • @EvilJukka And I just made it as a response to this video.

  • ...Black poetry...

  • \_/ Epic black metal FTW!

  • Its like an orgasm

  • I shed a tear for the memorable one.

  • i truly hope, this band wont get comercialized: )

  • @Mist9879 That's impossible since the singer/guitarist Jon Nödtveidt committed suicide 4 years ago! Although the last album, Reinkaos was considered to be commercialised by many fans because it propagated The Temple of Black Light.

  • @Mist9879

Well, how could they? Jon is dead.

  • Epic!

  • now i see were the Bed of Razors (bodom )chrous was inspired from..

  • @BodomChildBreeder It's pretty clear CoB likes Dissection alot, they got loads of rip-offs in there songs.

  • @YTisMyPlaylist how old is this band?

  • @guitaralafreak

    1989 - 1997

(Disbanded when Jon Nödveidt went to jail)

2004 - 2006 (Killed himself, thus Dissection got disbanded again and forever)

  • college memories

  • RIP Nödtveidt

  • @T1av1s accually no, he killed him himself. great music but fuck people who kill themselves.

  • @T1av1s agree, people who kill themselves have an easy way out, they're fucking pussies but respect to jon nodveidt, he was an exceptional musician and songwriter but such a fucked up person in real life

  • one of the best black metal songs ever!!!

  • @INSINERHATEHYMN88

Agree, may be the best album ever

  • Fucking brilliant. Jon Nodveidt was a genius, and his work was pure poetry. Dissection was amazing and it's a great shame that we lost such a legendary musician R.I.P.

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of the best songs I've ever heard! Awesome from beginning to end!

  • Love this song.. It reminds me of my love =)

  • such a good band so awsome~ \,,/,

  • why did he kill himself? why? WHY?!

  • @allmyself666

Because he is badass man, he is badass.

  • @allmyself666 cause life and humanity are shit

  • @allmyself666 asking why someone killed themselves is a waste of time. how the fuck are you gonna get the truth the fucker is already dead.

  • @MorbidAzagthothDeath He left a letter stating that he was done with this existence, that it was time to move on and tread unknown ground. He wasn't depressed or anything like that, he just figured that he had gotten as much as he wanted out of his life, and wanted to move on. His friends and family, who had spent time with him the days prior to his suicide described his mood as stable and up-beat, which further reinforces what he wrote in his letter, that to him it was just moving on.

  • @xxhellspawnedxx so he wasn't depressed, just crazy...nice!

  • @steveharrismetalgod Slightly more true, isn't it? :P Though I wouldn't really call him crazy. I mean, he acted rationally, within the framework of his belief of how existence and life works.

  • @xxhellspawnedxx...well,if you wanna' put it like that,then I guess you're right...

  • I heard this tune on the album "A tribute to Euronymous" (which I still have and will always be kept in the grave of my heart) a quite ancient legendary song,, I love it

  • R.I.P. Jon Nφdtveidt August 13, 2006!!!!

  • nice, but better is live footage version

  • SOUNDS SO SICK BUT COMPUTER WONT LET ME FINISH

  • >:}

  • Fucking incredible!

  • Storm of the light's bane is,imo, one of the greatest metal albums of all time. I also nearly shit my pants when i saw how badass the album cover is=]

  • This song is AMAZING!!!

  • This song is so great my computer orgasmed and blew up! O_o Now im on my laptop! :D

  • true epic fuck u

  • Im just glad that Jon was with us long enough to leave us with this masterpiece and the Somberlain.

  • que pinche cancion

  • Dissection ...<3

    This song is amazing.

  • falling in love :) this song is like the best hands down!!!!!

  • Who are the four bastards that downvoted this I want to hunt them down and rape them with barbed wire wrapped around my dick.

  • @ChurchInAshes LOL LOL barbed wire haha nicely said xD

  • @ChurchInAshes Seriously how could you not find this song totally epic. nice name haha

  • @ChurchInAshes Haha, love the nme!

Oh and its NINE now. >:-O

  • @ChurchInAshes I admire your complete disregard for the safety of your own dick.

  • @ChurchInAshes wouldnt that hart your dick?

  • This is like the perfect black metal song. It's so sinister. Badass band!

  • Fuck yourself up the ass you pigeon-toed faggott!!

Can you not respect the dead - especially warriors of METAL!!!!?????!?!??!!?!??

  • I believe this album features the most evil sounding and menacing guitar riffs ever. No one is ever going to be able to recreate that kind of atmosphere. The guy might have killed himself, but he left one hell of a musical legacy behind.

  • @Elidhan The Somberlain, Storm of the lights Bane, In the Nightside Eclipse and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Black Metal Diamonds!

  • @Elidhan don't know if i agree with you on that.... if these were the most evil sounding and menacing guitar riffs ever, nobody would be trying to make more. bad ass vocals though.

  • @Elidhan not to say guitar's bad.... needless to say it's also very bad ass xD

  • @Elidhan I totally agree dude.

i am going to do my very best to make the band I am starting to be like a brother to this band.

Its a hard task, but I shall do my very best.

  • beyond awesomeness

  • Great song!

    Dissection rules!

  • This is the most epic song ever, tbh the best song i've ever heard.

  • Epic lyric...

  • i thought he said and the silence was broken by christ, but he says cries either way i dont think either would be bad, do i beleive in christ no but i guess its just a lyric

  • the best song, i have ever heard!

  • after spending a while on youtube to find music. i learned that when every ones likes the song a lot. every ones comments have a lot of thumbs up

  • i fucken love this song!!!

  • I fucking love the lyrics of Dissection.

  • i love that intro!

  • so epic....

  • This is a very good song. I like it very much.

  • you can really tell how they were influenced by the great melodic death bands in sweden, at the time. It's almost as tho the soaring guitar riffs act as synthesizers that other BM bands utilize to creat atmosphere.

  • one of my favourite black metal albums. just one of my favourite metal albums ever

  • brutal ass scream man

  • Brutal ass cream*

    Fix'd.

  • both haha

  • i think the whole "storm of the lights bane"-album and especially this song are masterpieces in the death/black metal scene. i don´t agree with jons political and religious opinion but he was a really great musician!

  • The Somberlain and Storm of the Light's Bane are masterpieces. I think Dissection was Gothenburg's best band even though they were a different subgenre compared to At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and In Flames. Dissection is black and the other bands are melo death. I have never heard so many epic riffs in other black bands as I have heard on these two albums from Dissection.
