  • dudeeee, why is it such a big deal to you anyway? i'm not trying to be rude or anything, but your defending this topic with your life, and it's honestly not an important topic.

  • there are some horrible cosplayers out there but oh well...it happens EVERYWHERE!! not just america! It happens in japan too. Who ever is THAT judegmental..seriously, get the stick and dictator bug out of your behind and grow up. It's NOT that big of a deal. See what you think is wrong and bring it to their attention your view on their costume without putting it down and try giving helpful tips.

  • i really agree with u koicosplay and fightingdreamers pro are awsome also so are our australian cosplayers narutoisgaypro i agree that yes it is wrong to manipulate other people with cosplay sure there are ones that dont cosplay as well because as u said it might have been there first cosplay or they couldent finish off there costume but the point is as me for an example as an aussie cosplayer im just glad to wear a costume and have fun

  • thank u!

my friend is just like goo-blahblah (hehe) and he says its not manga if its drawn by an america OR non-japanese

so thanks i agree with u totally

  • Sure thing anytime. Im Glad you agree with me. Thank you

  • I think you, yourself, are misinformed.

Cosplay wasn't "Created" in Asia, it was STARTED in Asia. The cosplay movement in Japan was inspired by American masquerade and hall costuming at Worldcons. Nov Takahashi was at the Las Angeles Worldcon and came back to Japan with pictures reports and stories and published them in Japanese SF (Science Fiction) magazines. He then coined the term "Cosplay" or "Ko-su-pu-re" from two common English words " Costume" and "Play. And thus came about Cosplay CONT.

  • CONT'... Thus came about Cosplay meaning (literally) Costume play, NOT the art of mimicry. Do your research before trying to tell someone off. I'm Asian myself and think that there ARE good American cosplays just the majority of Asian cosplays are better just because it STARTED in Japan. Nothing is pathetic about someone Else's opinion.

  • well i didnt mean it the art of mimicry was the meaning i ment thats what is all about. cosplay is about dressing up and copying a chracter from another anime and having fun. i dont care about that hole history eson because it had nothing to do with my video. you misunder stod wut i ment so i forgive you ^^

  • theres a new proudtobeasian out there. be careful, just a warning. Veryproudtobeasian, probably the same person. I'm american and support this vid all the way, there aren't just bad cosplayers over here! i'm about to start and mabye the people in the video were beginners to start with. i don't know, but it isn't right to show modded pictures of Asian cosplayers then show real ones of American. he didn't even include Fighting Dreamers Productions. Proud was an idiot.

  • Thank you, I didn't know this and I found it very interesting and informative :) I like reasons and facts to help support an opinion because then I can follow your train of thought better. And you did that, so thank you again :)

  • Thank you to animepyroqueen :) for her comments. They were helpful.

  • It was no problem :3 I only here to help and get people to be able to understand where I'm coming from better. I get confused easily so I can understand not understanding a lot of things so I explain to my best ability.

  • @animepyroqueen it didn't start in Japan. The first "cosplay" was a star-trek convention. In America.

  • @remedii30 Uh, no. That wasn't know as "Cosplay" Until it was brought back to Japan. Japan is the one who made the term "Cosplay" and started it there. Americans have always dressed up, yeah, but it was never known as "Cosplay". Did you even READ what I posted? :/ Besides, I did an entire paper on this subject. I know what I'm talking about.

  • @animepyroqueen it has always been called costume play. I assure you, the Japanese did not give it a name. Though they did make it into a more serious cultural pastime. I just don't think they have the right to claim it as their own considering there were many countries doing these things at the same time. They just thrived at it.

  • @remedii30 Well, I assure YOU that they coined the term "Cosplay" Cosplay started in Japan, inspired by America. Go do some research about cosplay history then come back and try to make an argument with me. Because the way this is going you're going to lose.

  • X_X

I think we have a misunderstanding here :3

I thought u were the one saying that Americans cant cosplay...

  • no i think that anyone can cosplay.

    ~Shuichi Shindo

  • I dont get it...you said ur American right? That means you cant cosplay either X_X...

And If we all originally came from other countries....that means...NON OF US CAN COSPLAY XD

  • ...okay i dont understand wuts wrong with you but i will tell you something. just becuase im american doesnt mean i cant coslpay. i might only just be a begginer (think i spelt that right...really dont care.) but at least im trying. you shouldnt be saying that americans cant cosplay becuase i no alot that can. befor you go on ranting that americans suck and they cant cosplay then i want you to go and look to see how many bad asian cosplays you see.

    ~Shuichi Shindo

  • im asian

but i dont mind if americans cosplay.

wow alot of people make such

a big deal out of it. but the thing

i get annoyed about when americans

    cosplay as sluty cosplays.

  • I'm asian too but saying that you get annoyed when americans cosplay slutty is slightly hypocritical. Have you seen all the slutty asian cosplays out there?

  • .....It's a bit hard to hear some parts because of the music in the background.

But yeah, when some people compare cosplayers they shouldn't put great asian cosplayers to compare with bad american ones. that's probably the only reason why I didn't like the comparison on gooxyxz's video.

  • yah sorry bout that.. lol but im glad u see my point

    ~Shuichi Shindo

  • i totally agree witht this vid! i dont see why the japanese think we are bad guys tho :x i think kind of in a way they are bad guys for accusing us for nothing :( i really just think they should be more open, i mean, we shared all of our great things, so why shouldnt japan? ^.^ gj! :D

  • Koi cosplay is American! lol

  • So I post a comment on goo3xyzs video and she sent me back a reply on how I'm a dumb fat American. Then she went onto say crap about or freedom of speech and that we should try to live in China.

What is this all really about to her? Freedom of speech or cosplay? God you should just see the crap she sent back to me, killed my whole damn day.
