  • Fate=he becomes archer

UBW=guess what chances are good hes archer

HF=he gives it up for the love of his life

    that the break down

  • "Fate=he becomes archer???"

Thats strange isn't he supposed to go to Avalon in fate route?how can he become heroic spirit and go to Avalon?

  • He doesn't. Archer is a Shirou that isn't in any of the routes. The author, Kinoko Nasu, once said that he was the Shirou from the supposed ilya route that got cut off from the game.

    So, in short:

    Fate: Goes to Avalon

UBW: Rin said she wouldn't let him become Archer

HF: Changes his ideal so no Archer

    There ya go!

  • "Goes to Avalon"? I'm sorry, who goes to Avalon? The other 2 talk about Archer...are you somehow Implying that Archer goes to Avalon... with Saber? Last I recall, Saber goes back, tells Bedivere to throw the sword back to the lady of the lake, and dies.

    Am I missing something?

  • The last Story in Realta Nua; the "Good End" of the fate route. Shirou joins Saber there after the mix of 2 miracles. Read it, it's pretty confusing, but clear enough to understand.

  • The "Good End" of the Fate route? DAMMIT I didn't know Realta Nua had a Good End! (Oh, and it's not the "Last route" you can get it before even playing UBW)

  • I'm guessing "Avalon"=the Throne of Heroes, which Saber ascends to once she dies after either winning the Grail War or else giving up her wish.

  • Avalon is a place. It may not exist anymore, but it's in the stories of King Arthur.

I found that they were talking about the Good End of the Fate route in Realta Nua.

  • Right, but in the Nasuverse, it's the scabbard of Excalibur. The Throne of Heroes is synonymous with the Avalon in real life mythology, as well as other heavenlike places such as Valhalla. Basically, it's where all the Servants go at the end of their mortal lives.

  • It's the scabbard in real life too.

  • No, the scabbard itself is never named, though Malory's Morte d'Arthur mentions it as having supernatural healing powers.

The earliest usage of the term was in Geoffrey of Monmouth's History of the Kings of Britain, and it may or may not be interchangeable with Annwn, the Welsh version of the Otherworld of pan-Celtic myth. But even though Geoffrey attributed numerous weapons and items to Arturius, the scabbard is not among them. Most likely, the scabbard was invented by Malory.

  • In the Nasuverse, Avalon was probably turned into a Noble Phantasm (Excalibur's scabbard) as the crystallisation of the wish for a utopia, which Saber sought for her people. (i.e., Avalon: the Everdistant Utopia) If Excalibur is the crystallised prayers of all warriors seeking glory, Avalon is probably the crystallised prayers of people seeking utopia.

  • Overall, Fate route is closest to Iliya route.

Iliya route is basically everything going wrong and out of main characters, only shiro surviving this holy grail war.

  • No, he doesn't become Archer. It was mentioned that Archers version of the Grail war was very alike the Fate route but it had significant changes. We aren't given too much information but it was stated that he wasn't able to save Saber (Shirou in Fate did it) and that a Year after the war Iliya died(that happened in Shirous timeline too)

  • It's the unincluded Ilya route the one Emiya takes to become the Archer we all know and love.

  • SPOILERS

The one Shirou who is most likely to become Archer is probably the one from the "Steel Mind" ending (bad end nr30 Heavens Feel).

In that ending he gave up everything in order to fully live out on his ideal.

Even though it wasn't something that he had wished for, Rin and Sakura became a threat to his ideal and thus they had to be eliminated.

The same thing could have happened to Iliya, however it is more likely that she died sometime later because of her being the grail and all.

  • "Rin and Sakura became a threat to his ideal and thus they had to be eliminated."

Yes, even though the epilogue shows both Rin and Sakura alive.

  • Umm, you know that the "Steel Mind" ending is a so called "Bad End", it has no epilogue.

  • The Mind of Steel ending is not one of the two "good" ends of HF, bro. It's a "bad" end where Shirou chooses his ideal over Sakura's life, so he kills her. It's then implied that he kills anyone and everyone that gets in the way of him getting to the grail. Most believe it's the "Archer end" of the series, or the one where Shirou has the greatest chance of being Archer.

  • it's quite interesting; i must go through that bad end to understand it...all we can tell is that despite being the winner of the holy grail war, archer followed rin to London after where he fell into the Thames in winter (one mishap then...this is taken from fate/hollow ataraxia)

  • Well, i wouldn't call it a good end but more of a Neutral end. I don't agree on the "Archer end" part because he killed his emotions in a way. The biggest reason why Shirou became Archer were his emotions. Well it can go either way depending on the future events of this ending. No good from overanalyzing so i'll let it be xD

  • umm archer said in ubw that his body went numb identicaly as shiros (for obivous reasons) no reference to losing his arm or anything

  • He stated that Shirou was lucky and that he (Archer) screwed his arm up when he tried to project for the first time

  • Any way to get an mp3 of this? I'm absolutely loving this remix.

  • Where can I get this Pic from? Looks really cool.....

  • Google Shirou Emiya. That pic is 160x160 = small

  • Cool, I got it, THX

  • Is there a download link for this song somewhere? If not, could I ask if you can send it to me? I LOVE this song. It's a great remix. XD

  • Where is that image from? Heaven's feel scenario?

  • Yes

  • Though so... the only path I haven't finished.

  • He wanted to kill Shirou because of his dumb ideals, and when he realized Shirou cast aside those ideals to protect one person, he decided that he didn't need to kill him.

Additionally, in the only route Shirou survives in, he's got the doll body. He's leeching mana off Sakura, there's no way he's going to go down the path of the hero of justice anymore.

Heavens Feel Shirou can not become counter-guardian Emiya.

  • Great remix, this Emiya theme rocks!!!^^

  • EMIYA is trying to learn "UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS", but EMIYA can only learn 4 moves!

  • Delete a move to learn "UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS?"

  • YES! Delete move "You lost me"

  • @Crisis7 Delete move "People die when they are killed"?

    y / n

  • Love this picture. It's badass enough that despite his stupidity I can actually see him being badass enough to become you-know-who.

  • To be fair, he's only the most stupid in the Fate route. In Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel he starts to wise up a little.

  • Only that there is a high probability that the Fate route's Shirou is the Shirou that actually becomes "you-know-who".

"His history differs from the Shirō in any particular storyline, although he is most similar to the version who progressed through the Fate scenario."

  • True, but the Shirou that becomes "you-know-who" followed the Heaven's Feel path. He chose an ally and thats one of the things he regretted. In Fate he still follows Kiritsugu's path and as far as we know has not abondonded it. Only in UBW can we say for sure that he sure as hell wont become "you-know-who"

  • And UBW Shirou is the best though.

And probably the most powerful of all the Shirou's.

  • Wait shirou decided to protect one person instead of having the ideal to protect all in Heaven's feel. Didn't "You-know-who" help him because he knew that shirou would not become the superhero he dreamt of?

  • Yes, but he will eventually become "you-know-who". His way of life has always been to protect everyone. So he helped Shirou in hopes that Angra Manyu would be taken care of since he no longer was able to deal with it himself.

  • You're wrong. HF Shirou abandoned his ideal, meaning he has 0 percent chance of becoming Archer. If you'd play through the game it'd be easy enough to see all that on your own, though.

Stop spreading misinformation. He helped Shirou because he's a realist - either one lives or both die, and Shirou had cast aside the "protect everyone" mentality and decided to protect one person - not an ally, but the girl he loved. That's it.

HF Shirou absolutely can not go on to become Archer.

  • Go reread the night when Sakura runs out after getting treatment from the church. That should clarify why Archer did what he did (he says his priorities changed).

Archer is far too greedy to be a realist and his true goal is kill "you-know-who" so the reason he gave up his arm was in hope Shirou would help in taking care of Angra Mainyu.

  • Fate Shirou is probably the one that goes to become "you-know-who".

In UBW, he has Rin to take care of him, and in Heaven's feel he either loses to Angra Manyu, or survives as a weak soul. Neither of those can become Shirou. So it either has to be Fate or some other reality that wasn't covered in the game.

  • Pretty much has to be a reality not covered in the game. Archer wants to cause a paradox, so he has no reason not to cause as much divergence as he can.

His native timeline is probably one where Tohsaka ended up successfully summoning Saber. Extrapolating that timeline could be interesting, but is ultimately pointless.

I doubt that Fate path Shirou needed to make a Counter Guardian pact to get the power to save people - he's well on his way to mastering tracing without outside assistance.

  • Only problem with that, is assuming Tohsaka summoned Saber, she would have easily overpowered Lancer in the beginning sequence.

Therefore Shirou wouldn't have been injured and would have stayed out of the Grail war all together.

Shirou can also only really summon Saber, because of Avalon.

He doesn't have the power to summon or sustain any other servant.

Fate Shirou, however, has to deal with the loss of Saber, and the loss of his dear Sister. Making him the most likely Shirou shown.

  • On the other hand, Archer had to make a contract with Alaya (a spirit of the Earth) to gain enough power to fulfill his dream of becoming a hero of justice. In the original timeline, he probably wasn't a member of the grail war to begin with, another devastating event happened when it finished, and that drove him to become a "Beast of Alaya" in order to achieve his ideals.

Since after the events of the Fate arc he's competent enough not to need Alaya, he won't grow bitter as a counter guardian.

  • How is Shirou competent enough to be without Alaya? He's by far the weakest after Fate, and is stuck on his ideal, and sore after the loss of his love and sister. He can kinda project, but not proficient with it, and now he lacks Avalon.

Archer knows Ilya, and calls her that, he also knows enough about the war, and the other spirits.

It'd be kinda interesting to have an Archer spin-off though.

Where we get to see how Shirou becomes Archer, and what exactly leads to his death.

  • I'm unsure exactly what happens to Avalon. The only final outcome that really makes sense is that it dropped to the ground in the present, and wasn't shown on camera because it was unimportant. If it went with Saber to the past we'd have two Avalons running around, and besides we don't see it with her. Shirou also has Caliburn - Archer didn't.

The fact that Archer doesn't have Avalon is a plot hole no matter how you look at it, as it's stated the *only* defensive phantasm he has is Rho Aias.

  • Hmm. That's true.

I was talking to a friend about it, and he said that Avalon probably didn't do anything unless a pact with Saber was made. So even if Archer did have Avalon, it wouldn't do anything.

That's a good point though. I must have missed the part where it stated that he only had Rho Aias.

I wonder if Avalon was damage somehow? Like in the Fate route when you die after going out the window and Shirou sees Avalon coming out of his body.

  • I'm fairly sure he saw swords repairing his body (as covered in the Heavens Feel Route...somewhat)

  • Fate Shirou gave Avalon back to Saber, and Archer likely did as well. There's no plothole there, as not only could there be more than one Avalon lying around, and there's no guarantee that things she gained as a embodied spirit made the transition back to her physical self.

And there's nothing to suggest that Archer doesn't have Caliburn. He just doesn't use it.

  • "more than one Avalon lying around"

Wrong. There can only be one, because avalon is the sheath of excalibur which is one of a kind.

  • Lol, Shirou did project Avalon.

  • Emiya Shirou is also one of a kind, but that doesn't prevent Counter Guardian time paradoxes from letting two of them exist at the same time.

In other words, if Archer never gave Avalon back, there's nothing preventing 2 Avalons existing, one in Archer, and one in Shirou.

Think a little before trying to counter argue.

  • When archer disapears, anything he manifested along with him disapears as well.

Think a little before trying to counter argue.

  • And I'm referring to a timeframe before Archer disappears.

The entire line of reasoning is simply to demonstrate that neither Archer having nor not having Avalon are plotholes. In either case, it makes sense, depending on what he did with Avalon in his own timeline.

Try a little relevance next time.

  • Archer doesn't have Avalon because it was it was removed from Shirou's body before fighting Gilgmesh. It was then used by Saber to defend just as it was supposed to be used. Shirou used it by using it's magical energy to re-energize himself, not using the actual abilities of the sheath. And did Archer ever say that he didn't have Caliburn?

  • Ohhhh just read your comment, big spoiler, i would have never guessed that Shirou is Archer. Damn! now i HAVE to read the manga.

  • There is no manga, Fate was based on a visual novel.

  • There was a manga, it was just another adaptation of the Visual Novel, and follows the Unlimited Blade Works route.

  • if you still care.... a Manga DOES exist, it was made a while after the visual novel, but doesn't seem to be well known, i haven't read them all yet but I hear it follows the UBW route (the cool one that has the Revelations about archer)

  • No, it follows Fate.

  • sad face :(............ good thing they making a movie on UBW lol

  • No, Archer was definitely involved in the grail war, just as Shirou is in F/SN. He knows all about Saber, and laments that he couldn't save her in his own timeline or this one. His making a contract with the world is likely related to an entirely different situation.

The Shirou that is most likely to become Archer out of all the official endings is Fate Shirou. He's still hung up on the most idealistic version of his dream, and UBW Shirou is the competent one, not Fate.

  • Word of God is that Archer's from the Ilya route that didn't make it to final production. Saber still returned to her own time, but Shirou WAS successful in saving her from the never-ending loop she would have been stuck in, allowing her to finally ascend to the Throne of Heroes.

  • wow...this is a fine remix...

  • EMIYA KAKKEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • Do you have the FSN soundtrack? because i do it's beautiful to listen to, use some of the other songs you hear in the anime and remix them

  • Does Shirou evolve like a pokemon to become Archer XD

  • No, its a gradual change overtime.

    You don't get GAR overnight.

  • no i was only trying to make a joke

  • @Crisis7 sorry to ask but what you where you talking about?
