Thx for the advice,I am currently looking into putting two different hard drives in a laptop, one that is vista and the other windows xp,to see if it will work that way.
I would check with the ableton forum on that. What I recall reading there is that people have been able to use it successfully w/64bit, but I am using 32bit Vista (sp1) so cannot vouch for that.
Oh wow. What an awesome device! Essentially a keyboard, but in the format of a guitar fretboard. My two favorite instruments combined.
I would love to make something like that, but alas, I have virtually no knowledge on the inner workings of MIDI circuitry, nor do I know where to even begin.
COOL! A bit shabby on the "look", no? Maybe one neck only and a slimmer design you'd have something I'd pay for. How responsive ix it? No fast legato runs I'd bet-
Thanks for your commment-- re: the look, I do agree, I plan to improve it, I wanted to first check out the 'model' for playability. It is fairly responsive/sensitive, the 'note buttons' are easily pressed.
Runs are possible, but they can end up like keyboard runs depending on the VSTi: arpeggiation works better. I will do some flashier stuff at some point and post it here.
I'm curious...I really like the idea of installing midi triggers in odd devices...can you suggest any resources for a beginner to do this..Your guitar is really inspiring, and the music is great too!
what a waste of natural resources. you could just as well ducktape computer keyboard on your chest and let computer to translate keys to midi. in other hand, it seems to find object edges in the room and illuminate them. this thing seems to have no velocity sensitivity. yamaha has a nice cheap controller that has velocity, ez-ag. for the music, it's just stuck 25 years back in time.
This is a great idea. I would love to buy one for my son. He has a great sense of rhythm and music, and could do great things with this. He says it would be more for a backup instrument, rather than a lead instrument though. I'm not sure I agree. I am more of a visual artist. I do like the black & white line effect this video uses. It adds to the ethereal, and yet orchestral quality of the music.
:) thanks for all the comments! lol, "shred"-- a couple of people have said that, and next video will include some blistering guitar-voiced synth madness.
Theres some electro-goth and cyber-goth bands out there that would kill for something like that. Why not check out the scene and see what comes out of it?
i really think this is the weirdest thing i've seen on youtube........

Thanks for the kind words-- for MIDI parts, google 'midiboutique', you'll get the site that provided the electronics for this project.

and what buffersize have you adjusted it to?
I have a dell inspiron 1525, 160Gb, 2mb ram, core 2 duo 2,0. What do you susggest me to do?
God bless
CelsoMachadoJr 3 years ago
Once you've downloaded the latest sw from TC, start out with 256 for your buffer at 44.1k. Use the included utility program to adjust.

Hey, great video. I bought the konnekt 8 and I am strugling to use it.. all the time dropouts. Do you have the same problem using Konnekt 8?
CelsoMachadoJr 3 years ago
No, it's worked fine for me, but I did need to make sure I was using the latest drivers, downloaded from their site, and adjust buffer size.

Man, fantastic. Way cool. I'd probably play it more like a Chapman Stick, though; with the body down low and the necks upright.
landrvr1 3 years ago
Sometime I will do that, pulling it up closer, the strap allows that and it's very light.
utenzil 3 years ago
Kinda useless... do you even know about real guitar midi outputs ?
This sounds like no velocity control...
