Let me get this straight - You know that the word "were" exists, and past present and future tense affects the word used as well, right? Sorry to sound like I'm overreacting, but at least when you text talk you'll use acronyms (like FWIW), but when you know what it is there's no usage error is there? So why can't people say it right? I know it's a bit wierd when "were" is used for plural nouns, but I didn't have "county" and "country" be pronounced differently.

well, it hassomething to do with the rope ladder, my guess is sonic had planned for knuckles to hit the switch, and he would grab it as they fell, so he doesn't fall so far that it will kill him.

He grabs some rings to prevent dying on the spikes. Sonic can only die if he has no rings, there was a set of eight or so rings hovering over the spike pit.

I think Tails would have had to die before landing in Hydrocity because Sonic has been there before and lived (with 0 rings). Tails would have died from falling off screen because it's only safe to fall after you save the animals.

if you hit hydrocity right, you can get rings from falling from that particular cliff.
