One more thing: The second time seemed really obvious to me. THis could also be the fact that i just watched some Punk'd episodes and may have been able to better tell when people are "acting" so to speak.

More points: The glasses are also to hide his real emotion as he only takes them off AFTER the interview and throughout it you cannot see his eyes or facial expressions AT ALL . Then there were some of what seemed to be over the top things. 1. Him getting mad for (what's his face) for having "a maniacal laugh. 2. The gum. 3. Just the amount of shots Dave gave him shows they were trying to get really good material and allow for the desired responses.

Yeah, staged definitely. For me, the first time i watched it I really couldn't tell and I was leaning more towards real. However, the second time around it seemed obviously fake. Mainly just by their (especially Joaquin) body language. He looks down a LOT and first it may seem as though he's getting angry but I'm pretty sure he was making sure to not crack a smile. Also, at one point he seems to have a split second laugh at something that if he was angry he certainly wouldn't be mad at.
