  • is the uploader arguing with himself....... XD

  • What is the difference between these toygers and regular mackeral tabbies? I am looking at my DSH tabby right now and see no difference. Also, why are these people breeding some designer cat when there are so many unwanted cats on the streets and in shelters that need homes? This is shallow and greedy.

  • I want one, but will save my cash. Cats are prolific, capable of producing as many as 24 litters in a lifetime. These adorable critters will crossbreed with feral tabby cats then I will get for free by rescue. :)

  • A wast of money - Give me a run-of -the- mill Calico anyday

  • GOTTA HAVEM ALL >.<!!!!!!! (i want all cats that need homes) I LOVEZ MY KITTIEZ!!

  • they all look like normal tabby cats IMO

  • I'd rather get a real tiger so it would eat my enemies. XD

  • They look just like the ones that piss all over the crazy cat ladies house.

  • They look almost identical to Savannah's.

  • their practically tabbies

  • lame music epic kitty.

  • i just found out my cat is a toyger!!! he looks just like the one at 38:00, hes very active, load, and sometimes ferocious, he acts like a jungle cat!!! :) are these expensive? because i adopted him for free at my local vet! and ive had him for like three years so apparently theyve already arrived :)

  • @tnt12397

your cat isn't a toyger- just a striped tabby

you cant know if your cat is a specific breed unless you got it from breeder, or unless its one of the breeds with a very unusual appearance, like Persians

such a new breed is probably nonexistent in shelters

  • @tnt12397 ur cat probably isn't a toyger, it's most likely a bengal or something.

  • all of the speckled cats are called bengals u idiot. all of the ones that look like dark brown tigers r toygers.

  • pedigree cats have just as hard a time as moggies finding homes you can practically pick a breed to rescue - the shelters pass the pedigrees back to specific rescue groups . People breeding pedigree cats in no way compromise shelter cats finding homes as most of the breed specific rescue groups require you to have experience of the breed before you are permitted to rescue them - what i cant understand is why people pay thousands for an animal and then abandon it for ridiculous reasons

  • @cattyerde Because they are too rich and spoiled for society's good. They buy it as a luxury item, get tired of it and neglect it.

  • you would need to be on lsd to think these cats resemble a tiger anymore than any other tabby cat.

And you probably are on lsd if you paid 3k for one .

  • what the is this its just fin cats n tigers

  • What happens to the kittens who don't look like tigers? If they get homes, what happens to the stray cats that might have gotten homes if they didn't? Is breeding these interesting cats really important enough to justify the death of millions of cats in shelters?

  • Dude i have one!!! thye are adorable but mine is obsessed with going outside so its kind of annoying

  • They're currently breeding toygers with bengal cats to improve their appearance, but they are NOT the same thing. A lot of those pics are of bengal cats, you obviously did not do much research. Also, you r grammar and spelling are atrocious.

  • wow the music in this video is fucking horrendous

  • i got a toyger 3 years a go its like a little baby snow tiger

  • Tigers don't have spots.... Leopards do. Also tiger stripes end before the belly and the coat's orange has a fade to it. As odd as it may seem for an orange animal to blend in the tiger's coat is an amazingly effective form of camouflage. As neat as these cats look they really don't resemble tigers all that much. How about you buy a Ford F150 instead of a Nissan Frontier. Might looks similar and be a truck but it's shit in comparison.

  • there £550 which is too dear for a cat

  • the important part about toygers are the headlights

  • the ears need to be more rounded in the toygers for them to be really tigery =]

i so think that it is really cool but why not by a few hundred to stop them suffering rather than one well cared for tiger-looking cat?

  • cats FTW!

  • It's absolutely amazing what genetic engineering can do!

Biology was so cool last year, and I hope to major in either Bio or Biomedical engineering!

it's things like this that made me love biology!

  • looks cool, but there is still some more development left. The face and body of the Toyger still resembles to much of the domestic cat.

  • I agree, and I think if they took the cheek tuffs/whiskers of a Bobcat or Lynx or something along those lines they could make the face shape look much closer like a Tiger. Same for the white undercoat, as you see that in a Bobcat as well.

There are probably some other domestic cat breeds that may have that fluffed cheeks/whiskers quality as well that they might be able to choose from.

  • I´m pretty sure some of those pictures were of bengals... since they had spots. Toygers are supose to have stripes. They are also supose to be more sturdy, bengals are quite thin and long.

  • I believe some toyger breeders have selectively breed the bengals with joined up spots. This produces stripes (obviously). It is then easier to selectively breed for the head and ear shape. It is all to do with the traits the parents have and using them to to improve the next generation.

  • its so cool

  • the song is unwritten

  • they are very cute.

but im still going to stick to moggys! theres so many cats in rescue centres needing homes that its a bit unnecessary creating so called designer pets

  • cute, but please dont forget all the other

    cats on shelter!

  • whats the title of the song? please reply...

  • unwritten by natasha bedingfeild. Great video, liz!

  • thanks for the comment. yeah that is true

  • right now there's only about 300 in 2010 there will be about 2000 and they will look more like tigers

  • They are awesome cats. My grandma bought two from a lady in Houston. I got to see all her kittens. They are sooo cute. Too bad I cannot afford one. They are like 1,000-3,000 dollars.

  • yes they are being bred but arent perfected he still looks quite accurate to me

  • The toyger is bred from bengals en just bleu tabby cats. It is treu that they not finish. And that the cats in this movie nothing near what toyger look like. I've you are looking sellective you can find toyger more like a tyger. google one eeyaa cattery

and you know the diffrents. Eeyaa cattery from judy sudgen is beganning to breed toyger.

I hope some day to have a toyger of my one in the near future

  • really? They are coming to public in 2010 it says!! but it is true that they don't use bad quality bengals but they do use different bengals. Not nessaceraly "bad" quality.

  • I have one!!! his name is Tony

  • wher did u get him plez tell me i whant one can u get them in perth

  • There is one breeder in Australia but they are really expensive and hard to get now. A few years and they may be easier to get but they will still be expensive.

  • Toygers are PUREBRED bengels with a different cat

  • lol

  • Not really, its just that toygers use bengal cats that can't be shown or bred within the bengal breed as they have rib bars. Bengals want rosettes, toygers want stripes, its a different look.

  • thats not true. They are bred with many different brreeddss not just poor quality bengals. That is sorta insulting toygers you know? nd bengals which r my fav breed!

  • Toygers are made using poor quality bengals.

  • Well, you have to wait till 2010 and then they will be with breeders that you can buy them from! There still not finished yet!

  • They breed cats untill they like what they look like. Their goal for toygers is to have fur around chin, stripes, c patterned tabby marking, TO LOOK LIKE A TIGER!!! I don't think they exactly mess with their DNA

  • I was wondering if anyone knew exactly HOW this has developed. I mean, what do they do, mess with their DNA or something?

  • selective breeding made this cat look this way

i think if they refined this cat with a forest cat to bring out the mane it will look more like a tiger

  • ohhh... well maybe in OK they will get them. I really wanna get a toyger but there are many mixed breed cats out there that NEED homes so I will have to get homeless cats too!!!

  • Check CNN they had a clip on there i think.. they look gorgous. i REALLY want one but i lve in the UK and getting one will be lots of hassle with trying to import one of these beauties...

  • Really?? THe world is ending? There are some ways out of it you know? And we still have 2 years with toygers rght!!

  • Its coming out in 2010? .... The world is ending in 2012 -.-

  • Its coming out in 2010? The world is ending in 2012 -.-

  • Okay I know. To everyone who keeps on saying I have bengals in there. I know I do have a few bengals in there but in a way they are related

  • those are bengals

  • yes those are bengals but the person who bred bengals is the mother i think of the person who made toygers. Also I do not know how and where to get footage of toygers

  • I know, I wish I could have a toyger! Sometime in the future maybe. Ya some of the cats you posted were versions of bengals.I kind of wish we could see some footage of toygers, but pictures are sill cool. ^^

  • That's called a bengal cat.

  • Maybe in 2010 you could!

  • toygers are so damn cute i wish i could get one

  • Why do I have so many comments but no ratings? lol!

  • THEY ALREADY HAVE!!!

    They are called Wolf hybrids

  • Wow! People are making pets now?! thats cool! I hope they make a furry little wolf type dog if there aren't any already!

  • yeah that would be so cool LOL

  • as long as she's spayed then it should be okay to let her outside. I have 3 cats and they go out doors when they wish and indoors when they wan't . They are really quite nice and one of them had a mother who was feral (wild) and that mother was adopted and is really sweet.

  • We've had her for over a year. She was friendly to me, but sadly, my mom let her go outside because she kept spraying diarrhea on the walls and stuff. She still stays close to the house, because my mom puts food out for her, but she'll never come back inside. I won't get to pet her again. She is just not about to be anybody's housepet.

  • ohhh.. well I guess our doggie is a tad bit aggressive to other dogs cuz of her breed but she's sooo sweet with humans! Also when did you get the kitty, if you found her recently she may be scared or not used to you or just people yet

  • I didn't mean that every pit bull attacks humans. I have seen cute little pit bull puppies that happen to have steel trap-like jaws. That isn't their fault, though. I have also seen a pit bull get it's teeth stuck in a chain link fence once because it wanted to eat a little fifi dog that walked by...

  • oh yeah I knew those weren't Toygers and I was waiting for someone to point it out! Oh and tidycat Toygers are not wild they are cute and have dog-like personalities!also... PIT BULLS R COOL!!! I luv them. My dog is a rotweiler-pit bull mix and shes the nicest ever! Humans make then act that way, mostly.

  • The ones you showed with spots aren't Toygers. They're actually another genetically developed breed called a Bengal Cat. The woman who developed the toygers and the woman who developed the bengal cat know each other though.

And in 2010, they plan to have developed the toyger so far that they'll have cheek ruffs just like a real tiger. And can be as expensive as $4,000.

  • Toygers look sooo cool, but are they "wild?" I wonder if they will attack people like pit bulls. I heard they like water. That is unlike a domestic cat. I have a feral kitty and she is NOT like a domestic cat. She doesn't like human contact and she cannot be held or she will bite and scratch. Very smart and knows the second that you are thinking about picking her up.

  • I read an artical on Toygers where they interviewd a lady that breeds them. She sad they're just like house cats in the since that they lover to cuddle and lounge but they do, however, like water.

  • yeah, tigers are swimmers. I'm so excited, though, I'm saving up for one!

  • do you or any one know how to get them? i want one too haha,
