Cutting off a sharks' head is a bit of a useless tactic. For one thing, it wouldn't take like, two minutes. It would take a lot longer than that. If the fisherman had enough time to sit there and wait for his buddies to chop the head off, then they could've punched it in the gills, or in the eye to make it let go.

I think killing the shark was an act of cowardism... people kill more sharks than any shark would kill a person. And most of them are endagered. Just remember, they don't like people

@hippiegirl666 First off this wasn't a predatory attack, the shark was on the boat out of water fighting to defend itself, it wasn't going to let go, if anything it would rebite increasing the chance of hitting that artery. If you poke it in the eye or punch it in the nose that's only going to trigger the self defense tactic even more, since it cannot swim away it's going to keep biting. Cutting the head off was easily the best option.
