As a reserve police officer myself, without BJJ? My job would be 100% more difficult. Our CA Dept of Justice approved Defensive Tactics back in my day was all Aikido based. Which is fine for come alongs, wrist locks, arrest procedures, etc. But COMPLETELY useless for "Fights" that sometimes happens to officers. My BJJ training though? As we like to joke as officers when I do my reserve time? The average dumbass can't fight on the ground. That's why so many get arrested. Lol.
