AND after you rename your RT, before playing it, DELETE the old one from iTunes [you don't need it anymore], otherwise like someone else said it'll play the same one.

Everything worked up to finding my ringtone in my phone, someone suggested shortening the length of the ringtone to less than 0:30, AND THAT WORKED!

After this steps from the video you must drag the song from ringtones to your iphone, then sync your iphone. After this steps go to settings/sounds/ringtone and the song should bet here. i hope this will help :) Sorry for the bad english :)

ONCE THE NEWLY MADE RINGTONE IS DRAGGED TO YOUR DESKTOP

ON THE ICON IT SHOULD SAY " m4a" and change that into "M4R" AND a pop up message should appear saying are you sure you wanna do this or something along that line, and click yes or ok. THEN click it and it should appear in ringtones ALSO the ringtone tab will be added to your device! THEN on your itunes>Iphone> the ringtones tab should be at the top where it says

Summary - Info - App - Music - Movies - TVShows - Photos  ^ it'll be added

DUDE YOU ARE THE BEST.....took me a while to figure it out on the Mac, but once you have converted the file to .m4r and play it. make sure that you delete the song that you converted into .ACC version. Your ringtone should be in:

settings > sounds > ringtone

and it should be under the title custom ringtone.

If it doesn't have custom on it, try shortening the ringtone to less then 30 seconds and giving the song a artist, album, and album artist.

@MrMitsaki if it doesnt work after u sync it, drag the ringtone and drop where it says your iphones name and it should automatically sync it for u and then jus check if its under the custom list it worked for me ! :)
