i just found out that many low-cal cocktail mixers use artificial sweeteners. i also just heard about a new all-natural option called refine Cocktail Mixers. they use the natural medicinal plant stevia as their sweetener...check them out if you're interested in this BS
Stevia is a natural herb.Compared to Aspartame in sweetex etc which is so dangerous: When the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in Aspartame converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis
Your "info" is false! Stevia is a natural, zero glycemic index, TOTALLY safe and healthy! It has been used all over the world for many years and for 1000's of years in the South American jungle by indigenous peoples. It was only "outlawed" here because the sugar and artificial sweetener industries didn't want to compete with it. Now some industrial "big boys" are producing it, so they got the "go ahead" Stevia actually helps to moderate blood sugar levels,
Both your English and also German description is wrong. Steviol is not created in humans. Stevia is used in several countries, including Japan for many dozens of years with not a single incident.
Are you paid by the sugar or aspartame Mafia to preserve their market and to spread this fear, uncertainty and doubt about a natural and zero-calories, cheap and non-patentable plant as sweetener?
I saw Larry Hagman on (if I remember correctly!! see......I've accumulated too much aspartame in my body over the years!!!!!) "Sweet Remedy"?!?!? and he was really plugging this stuff!!! Until recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration required any product made with stevia to label itself as a dietary supplement. But on December 17, 2008, FDA approved purified stevia as a food additive.
FAO/WHO Said that you can take 4mG per Kg Bodyweight without any risk.

are you for real MoroccanSword??? or did you just come on here for shits and giggles...and wanted to see what would happen if you said every dumbass thing you could think of...This must be a joke cause i'm not sure if it's possible to be this stupid. Then again, I could be wrong.
Now that big companies want to use stevia (Coke and Pepsi), the FDA backs down and lets them! Stevia has always been safe, it was just a big threat to the artificial sweetener market!
Now soda sales are down, and the cola companies are trying to capture the natural market!
Coke has filed a bunch of patents related to stevia, those patents would be owned by little companies that were pioneers in the stevia industry. I hope "prior art" wins out!
The FDA is in the "competition-stifling" business!
Read 'Sweet Deception', a great book from Dr. Joseph Mercola. The book describes how safety tests of artificial sweetners have been skewed and falsified, and how dangerous these sweetners are long term.
Good news! The FDA has approved stevia for use in the US as a "sweetener!" Two products, derived from stevia, are on the shelf in the sweetener aisle, "Truvia" and "Only Sweet." However, the two are highly processed. "Sweet Leaf" still remains in the organics section and it's the only brand I use. I hit a manager's special clearance on the Sweet Leaf packets, I'm assuming because of packaging change. The boxes I got ($2.71 each) say "diatary supplament." The NEW ones say "sweetener."
To think that some people never would have had to live a life with regret because of stretch marks, dental crowns, depression, etc., just because the filthy stinking rich can't stand to be merely stinking rich. Now I'm no mystic-hippie and I love money but to think that those unethical bastards are profiting at the expense of health makes me sick. Health is _everyone's_ concern, even the filthy stinking rich can get diabetes!
I've been using stevia and I haven't grown horns or died. It's very potent, though. One drop of liquid stevia (from SweetLeaf) equals 1 teaspoon of sugar. Be careful how much you use, too much gets a little bitter and leaves an after taste.
now thank you greatly for this my mum is diabetic type 2 ive told her lots of times but now thanks to you u have lead me in the direction to find a replacement and this could be it.i am sorry if i sound stupid bit isnt aldi a german shop do you think they maybe able to obtain this?what we need is a readily available supply.

On You Tube look up all the videos on Xylitol.Used in some chewing gums.Clinically proven to fight bacteria that causes tooth decay.Tastes better the Stevia.Try a taste test of your own.
Never heard of such a thing.Where's your proof? I'm not fond of either. So you don't have to hard sell me.People need to do 'proper' thorough research to make an informed decision. Not listen to quips like,"it looks like marijuana".(I would not know, never took drugs).
I guess you had better stop eating chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, and mushrooms too. All of those will kill a dog. Different animals have different diets. What is toxic to one is good for another.
I think it would be good to ask if the migraines were caused by the stevia or if you were experiencing withdrawal from whatever you were using as a sweetener? Often times chemical sweeteners cause withdrawal- like symptoms from stopping use for even a few hours or days depending on the sweetener and the amount you were using before. Even the widely available varieties of "real" sugar can sometimes be difficult to get away from... Just something to consider.
in some countries u can sell it, but not write its a sweetener or to be eaten on the packet. its perfectly safe to use as a sweetener but this is the only way they can get away with selling it where its almost banned because aspartame companies don't want to lose business.
I have been using Stevia in my coffee and tea. It is wonderful. I feel so much better. I was drinking diet cokes and I was having intense headaches. I have lost 30 pounds cutting out sugar, aspartame and splenda. If you get the right product it is great with no aftertaste.
Aspartame (aka "Nutrasweet") OWNS the FDA & is trying to fend off competition. Stevia also has shown promise in medical research for treating such conditions as obesity[1] and high blood pressure.[2][3]
Stevia leaf has been safely used for THOUSANDS of years as a sweetner and medicine-- and it's NATURAL.
Look at your research on Aspartame & cancer-causing saccharin! (Now, who writes the supportive research????) That's right! Big business OWNs your brain too. They are made in factories, and they OWN the FDA, and they back the research "safety" claims.
Haha I'm sorry anyway, I didn't mean to be a douche bag. It's just that my brother was next to me and I wanted to make him laugh by putting in a silly comment. If I offended you I apologize.
Leave them alone. At least they speak English. I love your accent. Are you all German? I was doing research on Stevia to try it and found your site. Thanks for the info!
Where is the research proving that stevia is safe? Why are we to just assume that is safe because it is "natural"? Snake venom and poison ivy are also natural...
Since the Japanese firm Morita Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. produced the first commercial stevia sweetener in Japan in 1971,the Japanese have been using stevia in food products, soft drinks (including Coca Cola),and for table use. Japan currently consumes more stevia than any other country, with stevia accounting for 40% of the sweetener market.
Stevia and Xoitol(whatever it's called lol) are good for you as well as 100% organic raw unprocessed whole sugar cane. White Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, MSG, Aspartame, and Suclulose are the bad guys.
Way to go I've used Stevia for years. Do you know of a natural supplement called GlyPerfect? It addresses Kv1.3+; the channel necessary for proliferation of CD 4 and CD 8 NK T-Cells that cause diabetes. It closes down the channel where killer cells inflame the pancreas and restores function. It's helped me a lot.
Dont understand the paranioa about aspartame, why worry about it when its only found in crap food stuff like cola anyway, it's not like the rest of the product is any good for you
This sweetener is marketed under a number of trademark names, including Tropicana Slim, Equal, NutraSweet, and Canderel, and is an ingredient of approximately 6,000 consumer foods and beverages sold worldwide. It is commonly used in diet soft drinks, and is often provided as a table condiment...
That Wikipedia quote was on Aspartame. It is often not listed on ingredient labels in the US. It can be labeled as phenylalanine or as "spices", as it is regarded as a flavor enhancing addative, a spice in the US.
It is controversial because there is no question that it is highly carcinogenic, and like MSG is considered an excitotoxin. Excitotoxins fool the brain into sensing flavors that do not actually exist in the "food" being consumed. They cause neurons to fire to the point of exhaustion
That is how excitotoxins cause cellular death in the brain. They also promote adrenal exhaustion and the depletion of seratonin.
Aspartame breaks down, either in the body or on the shelf in warm climates, into it's constituent components, formaldehyde and wood grain alcohol. Both of these items are neurotoxins. The body cannot flush them, so they are secreted in fat tissue. That's right, aspartame makes you fat. It encourages adipose secretion as a means of clearing these toxins.
Aspartame is counter-indicated for people wishing to reduce stored fat, and especially for Diabetics.
Diabetes is a disease of the microcirculatory system, and aspartame destroys microcapilaries. Additionally, the blood brain barrier of Diabetics is porous making them particularly vulnerable to neurotoxins and excitotoxins. It destroys their neural network through multiple mechanisms, and overwhelms the liver.
Aspartame poisoning (Rumsfeld's Disease)... Over time the toxins contained in Aspartame accumulate in the body, causing a variety of symptoms, most of which are the same as late stage alcoholism or alcohol poisoning: Visual degradation and blindness, memory lapses, inability to think or think clearly, headaches, arthritis, hearing loss and deafness, renal failure, and death. Often aspartame poisoning is misdiagnosed as MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
There are now Diet-Sodas being sold in stores with Stevia as an sweetner, look for Zevia in either orange, cola, or lemon lime. I swear to whatever god it is these things taste better then any of the originals once you get used to the different taste in the sugar.
Very true about Japan , their 'DIET' sodas have stevia, there has been long term industrial use of stevia for like 30 years with NO harmful side effects! Obviously Stevia is gaining popularity,I youtube searched for it a year ago and there was about 1/5 the results. The FDA still wont allow it , You all can do the math figuring out why that is! Even unprocessed , sugar is addictive and void of nutrients. ASK FOR STEVIA IN YOUR PRODUCTS! Later
Or maybe because these same people believe tigers penis has healing powers? I <3 sugar, yet havent had any in years, and am perfectly fine. Honestly now, until you do that test yourself, please, keep quiet. Watch penn and tellers BS on remedys, see how they say, and i qoute "Anyone will believe a remedy works as long as you say its from japan"
I have ADHD and they took it off the market. Why? The system is flawed. The FDA is corrupt and allows corporations to poison us without competition from natural healthy alternative products. Stevia is an unarguable and classic example of the corrupt herbal prohibition process. It's also unconstitutional. Health care! F yeah! The matrix has you.Henry Anslinger got Dupont's daughter for playing part in the prohibition of hemp because of Nylon.
hard as hell to read but i like the message its very enlightening. Im thinking of a way to persuade the people who pay the bills in this house (AKA my parents) to get some and give it a try since their practically addicted to diet sodas
I doubt the gummint funds aspartame manufacture. I am sure the profits from its sale create enough money to fund its manufacture and marketing with plenty left over.
The government has been in aspartame for over 26 years. Donald Rumsfeld was at the time of aspartame's approval the president of G.D. Searle, the parent company of aspartame, and as soon as Reagan got in the WH, he hired an FDA chief who immediately approved aspartame. And 20 years later, Rummy became GWB's Sec. of Defense.
izeman458: because it's just part of a leaf.. Japan uses it all the time, and no reported harmful effects(just like it says in the video description) Aspartame is KNOWN to cause brain tumors especially when mixed with Nitrates and meats. and causes BIG headaches! so, no, stevia is DEFINATELY NOT a poison at ALL
Just part of a leaf? Cocaine and crack are just part of a leaf too and probably processed the same way. Does that mean a hit of crack is harmless? Stevia is not just a part of a leaf because if it were it would be green, not white. It goes through all sorts of processing and refinement before it becomes the final concentrated powder.
The so-called "food police" at the CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest) have for YEARS been against Stevia (a NATURAL low-calorie sweetener) while at the same time praising aspartame/Nutrasweet and sucralose/Splenda (neurotoxic artificial sweeteners). It's clear that the CSPI is secretly in cahoots with Big Food and Big Pharma/FDA.
There is no doubt that aspartame is more dangerous than stevia, but I think sugar itself might possibly be safer than stevia and just leaving sugar out of the recipe and not craving it is probably the best. I like tasting stuff other than sucrose in my cakes, chocolate and juices. The root problem is all these junkies with a "sweet tooth". They need to recognize their addiction and kick it.
Ausgezeichnet! I have been using Stevia for several years to sweeten iced tea and koolaid. The FDA says you can't advertise this as a sweetener, but there are ways to get around this! This is so much better than drinking a diet soda, because aspartame is POISON, and so is Splenda - splenda is a byproduct of CHLORINE BLEACH!!! And people put these nasty chemicals into their bodies all the time but they won't use a simple easy natural plant that God gave to us!

*sigh*
Got it only in german. And my personal experience.
First, original Text:
Steviosid wird weder im Magen noch im Dünndarm gespalten
und gelangt intakt in den Dickdarm.
Dreddhead 2 years ago
Dreddhead 2 years ago
Translation:
Stevioside is not broken down in the stomach or small intestine
and arrives intact in the colon. The local intestinal bacteria divide
the stevioside and steviol is set free. Steviol is absorbed and reaches
through the portal vein into the liver.
Dreddhead 2 years ago
There, the steviol is conjugated with glucuronic
and thus made water soluble. Through the bile Steviolglucuronid
is transported back into the small intestine, and then again after the split, the Steviol
is transported to the liver (enterohepatic circulation).
OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

stevia is a plant and is 400X sweeter than and a 100% safe and natural alternative to sugar.
it is even safe to use for diabetics.
Artificial sweeteners like aspertame (nutrasweet) have many and bad side effects, like causing brain tumors and MS.
we can only guess why a toxic chemical is approved as food additive, while a 100% safe plant is prohibited.
by using stevia instead, you don't gain weight or tumors.

The book describes how safety tests of artificial sweetners have been skewed and falsified, and how dangerous these sweetners are long term.
sophiegromit 3 years ago

I've been using stevia and I haven't grown horns or died. It's very potent, though. One drop of liquid stevia (from SweetLeaf) equals 1 teaspoon of sugar. Be careful how much you use, too much gets a little bitter and leaves an after taste.
imatroll5 3 years ago
I don't really care about either Aspartame or Stevia. I just have some powder that uses Stevia for its sweetness so that's how I found this video.
Reading things about it having an effect on reproductive health was a bit of a concern to me, and you didn't address that in the video at all.
Do you know if that's true?

Never heard of such a thing.Where's your proof? I'm not fond of either. So you don't have to hard sell me.People need to do 'proper' thorough research to make an informed decision. Not listen to quips like,"it looks like marijuana".(I would not know, never took drugs).
Bobofet241 3 years ago
I guess you had better stop eating chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, and mushrooms too. All of those will kill a dog. Different animals have different diets. What is toxic to one is good for another.
mjwoodhams 3 years ago
Stevia gave me massive migraines.Xylitol is very good.My husband uses Xylitol just to sweeten his morning coffee otherwise we do not use sugar.
Bobofet241 3 years ago
I think it would be good to ask if the migraines were caused by the stevia or if you were experiencing withdrawal from whatever you were using as a sweetener? Often times chemical sweeteners cause withdrawal- like symptoms from stopping use for even a few hours or days depending on the sweetener and the amount you were using before. Even the widely available varieties of "real" sugar can sometimes be difficult to get away from... Just something to consider.
tenguxeroz 3 years ago
So true. I'm still having problems getting away from using sugar. O.o
imatroll5 3 years ago
in some countries u can sell it, but not write its a sweetener or to be eaten on the packet. its perfectly safe to use as a sweetener but this is the only way they can get away with selling it where its almost banned because aspartame companies don't want to lose business.

I have been using Stevia in my coffee and tea. It is wonderful. I feel so much better. I was drinking diet cokes and I was having intense headaches. I have lost 30 pounds cutting out sugar, aspartame and splenda. If you get the right product it is great with no aftertaste.

I agree Monsanto, the GMO seed king is the momma of Aspartame and his lawyer works for the FDA.
They are in bed together and natural sweetness would overthrow their industry. I heard one teaspoon is equivilent to one cup in taste.
Get shocked and watch Youtubes "Codex Alimentarius".
After watching that tell me if you think they care for anything less then control
Americans can drink Stevia in Japan, lucky them!
Is there a way to get it? Anyone know?

Aspartame (aka "Nutrasweet") OWNS the FDA & is trying to fend off competition. Stevia also has shown promise in medical research for treating such conditions as obesity[1] and high blood pressure.[2][3]
(Based on INDEPENDANT studies).
Wiki it - Stevia.

Hey ryanpetersen,
Still dragging ur knuckles on the ground?
Stevia leaf has been safely used for THOUSANDS of years as a sweetner and medicine-- and it's NATURAL.
Look at your research on Aspartame & cancer-causing saccharin! (Now, who writes the supportive research????) That's right! Big business OWNs your brain too. They are made in factories, and they OWN the FDA, and they back the research "safety" claims.

Dont understand the paranioa about aspartame, why worry about it when its only found in crap food stuff like cola anyway, it's not like the rest of the product is any good for you
MrCriticize 4 years ago
To quote Wikipedia:
This sweetener is marketed under a number of trademark names, including Tropicana Slim, Equal, NutraSweet, and Canderel, and is an ingredient of approximately 6,000 consumer foods and beverages sold worldwide. It is commonly used in diet soft drinks, and is often provided as a table condiment...
MemeAnon 3 years ago
That Wikipedia quote was on Aspartame. It is often not listed on ingredient labels in the US. It can be labeled as phenylalanine or as "spices", as it is regarded as a flavor enhancing addative, a spice in the US.
It is controversial because there is no question that it is highly carcinogenic, and like MSG is considered an excitotoxin. Excitotoxins fool the brain into sensing flavors that do not actually exist in the "food" being consumed. They cause neurons to fire to the point of exhaustion
MemeAnon 3 years ago 2
That is how excitotoxins cause cellular death in the brain. They also promote adrenal exhaustion and the depletion of seratonin.
Aspartame breaks down, either in the body or on the shelf in warm climates, into it's constituent components, formaldehyde and wood grain alcohol. Both of these items are neurotoxins. The body cannot flush them, so they are secreted in fat tissue. That's right, aspartame makes you fat. It encourages adipose secretion as a means of clearing these toxins.
MemeAnon 3 years ago
Aspartame is counter-indicated for people wishing to reduce stored fat, and especially for Diabetics.
Diabetes is a disease of the microcirculatory system, and aspartame destroys microcapilaries. Additionally, the blood brain barrier of Diabetics is porous making them particularly vulnerable to neurotoxins and excitotoxins. It destroys their neural network through multiple mechanisms, and overwhelms the liver.
MemeAnon 3 years ago
Aspartame poisoning (Rumsfeld's Disease)... Over time the toxins contained in Aspartame accumulate in the body, causing a variety of symptoms, most of which are the same as late stage alcoholism or alcohol poisoning: Visual degradation and blindness, memory lapses, inability to think or think clearly, headaches, arthritis, hearing loss and deafness, renal failure, and death. Often aspartame poisoning is misdiagnosed as MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
MemeAnon 3 years ago 2

Later

What about Kava ? Herbal Ritalin

How do I know that Stevia is not just another poison like Asparame?
izeman458 4 years ago
Because Stevia isn't some man-made chemical manufactured in a scummy lab funded by the criminal government.
wvoutlaw2002 4 years ago
I doubt the gummint funds aspartame manufacture. I am sure the profits from its sale create enough money to fund its manufacture and marketing with plenty left over.
izeman458 4 years ago
The government has been in aspartame for over 26 years. Donald Rumsfeld was at the time of aspartame's approval the president of G.D. Searle, the parent company of aspartame, and as soon as Reagan got in the WH, he hired an FDA chief who immediately approved aspartame. And 20 years later, Rummy became GWB's Sec. of Defense.
darthchaosofrspw 4 years ago
izeman458: because it's just part of a leaf.. Japan uses it all the time, and no reported harmful effects(just like it says in the video description) Aspartame is KNOWN to cause brain tumors especially when mixed with Nitrates and meats. and causes BIG headaches! so, no, stevia is DEFINATELY NOT a poison at ALL
chad5161 4 years ago
Just part of a leaf? Cocaine and crack are just part of a leaf too and probably processed the same way. Does that mean a hit of crack is harmless? Stevia is not just a part of a leaf because if it were it would be green, not white. It goes through all sorts of processing and refinement before it becomes the final concentrated powder.
izeman458 4 years ago
the stevia we used in the video,
was nothing but dried leaves from the stevia plant.
not only parts of it, but actually whole leafs.
the only "processing" done, is drying .

It's clear that the CSPI is secretly in cahoots with Big Food and Big Pharma/FDA.
darthchaosofrspw 4 years ago
There is no doubt that aspartame is more dangerous than stevia, but I think sugar itself might possibly be safer than stevia and just leaving sugar out of the recipe and not craving it is probably the best. I like tasting stuff other than sucrose in my cakes, chocolate and juices. The root problem is all these junkies with a "sweet tooth". They need to recognize their addiction and kick it.
izeman458 4 years ago
Ausgezeichnet! I have been using Stevia for several years to sweeten iced tea and koolaid. The FDA says you can't advertise this as a sweetener, but there are ways to get around this! This is so much better than drinking a diet soda, because aspartame is POISON, and so is Splenda - splenda is a byproduct of CHLORINE BLEACH!!! And people put these nasty chemicals into their bodies all the time but they won't use a simple easy natural plant that God gave to us!
