  • Many are Chinese domestic dog, I love the breed, just to let people know, they are not mutts! and I'd love to have lots of them

  • Hi there, I might join you as volunteer in HKDR. I am Thai. We are moving in HK around March. We passed your place last Friday 22th. Well have to let my pets at quarantine MG center.

    Monrudee

  • Aw, just another year. I know how it feels - I was desperate for some dog-ness. Perhaps take some time to read up on dog-training and psychology online before you come, and how to deal with shy ones. It's helpful. Your parents can bring you - so if you beg them tirelessly, they may relent.

  • i might be adopting a dog from the hkdr! or the spca :)

  • Do consider HKDR. We really have less resources, have a No-Kill policy, take good health care of our dogs and take them for many walks. Do consider - and come take a look - there isn't much difference between HKDR and SPCA really, but we do try our best and sincerely love our crazy little chicks!

  • I am so close to fostering a dog at HKDR!! Sadly I can't adopt one yet, but I can foster one. I visit the HKDR website everytime I can, look at the blogs, see the pics of dogs e.t.c (I read the tribute book so many times!)... I LOVE HKDR! I think it is an awesome organization. But I have to wait to be a volunteer...

  • Great! Love to hear from kids like you! :)

Do consider fostering - it makes the adoption process much better because the dog would get used to a home environment, it builds dog-experience, and you'll have a devoted companion that changes from a little crazy to well-behaved. But remember to research on how to train, toilet-train, body language and the psychology! You will need to have some prior knowledge.

  • im volenteering when i turn 14!! im 13 now and I can't wait, i got both of my dogs there.

  • Really? That's fantastic. I turned 14 and I've been there for almost 7 months now, I love it so much.

    Which dogs did you adopt?

  • well their 4 and 2 now. :) Their names are Scrappy and Rusty, but I don't think they'd have been there when you started.

I want another! I don't think my mum would mind, but my dad would go mad. haha

  • i waited almost a YEAR to volunteer, how old are you?

there are many awesome dogs at HKDR, if you need one suited to your needs, just ask me, check it out on the website. some of the volunteers also have their own pictures/blogs... so dont hesitate to MSG ME :D
