Dont know anything about flight suits, but since birds poop so often it seems to me their little butts would have a build-up of poop in there! Making it uncomfortable and not good for the bird to have that against their vent for any period of time.
is there any easy way to get a flight suit on a green cheek conure with out any fancey hols because my green cheek conure is just freaking out when i try to get his on he bites he sqwaks he does anything possible to not get that flight suit on do i put his wings through first or last i just dont know any morei am also scared of hurting him please i need help
Wow! you are so great with birds and handling them! Well i have a canary (lemon :D) and i live in the uk can you tell me where i could get them for cheap? also i heard you can make them if you do know can you make a video how? Thank you i love your birds!!!
thank you so much for this technique! ive been trying to get my quaker parakeet in it but he keeps grabbing and biting the suit while im trying to put it on. this worked quick and easy!
Cool non-parrot. I've always wondered how my eclectus would handle a non-parrot. Namely a chicken. I suppose I'll find out one day.
Anyhow, not much for the whole diaper idea. I prefer having perches with some paper towels and whatnot. If your living room has nothing for your bird in it then there's something wrong.
@eliasjose99 Birds do not automatically go back to their cages to poop, so if you have a bird out for an extended period of time it is very likely that it will poop at some point. Diapers allow you to have your bird outside the cage without getting icky green blobs all over yourself, your floors, and furniture.
My cockatiel had the worst time getting out of it and now he just pops right out, and it's only been about 3 days, he is getting used to it but he still picks at it, i'm having him wear it for about an hour at a time when he comes out to visit. I'm glad to see that he has been in it over a week and is still getting adjusted cause I wasn't sure how long it was going to take.
Invaluable video. I have no idea how people figure these things out without proper demonstration like what is shown in this video. It's kind of concerning really [people putting them on their birds without knowing how]. This video really helps!!
I have found ebay too expensive for these. :/ You are better off calling the manufacturer (Avian Fashions) on the 1st Monday of the month, they offer 50% off of certain colors/prints. So about $10.99 each vs. $20.99 on ebay. lol
Also a website called pamperedpeeps offers them for good prices. They have trainer suits available, which are the same but you don't get to choose the color, and the cost is reduced. They offer a "3-pack of trainer suits + 1 lanyard w/ shipping" for their best deal.
Thank you for your video! I've been trying to get Spock, my green cheek conure, to wear his flight suit, and never could get him to put his feet through the holes. This method is a little more brash, but it worked like a charm! Spock is none too excited about it, though. I'm sure he'll come around with lots of cuddles and treats =) Thanks again!
Mine loves being on my shoulder and neck rubs but seems a bit paniced when i wrap my hand around, and will not let go of my second hand when on his back
we are still bonding it beeing our just 3 rd week together, so i need soem tips on how to make him feel better =]
But there are a few different companies that make them? Which do you use/recommend?
My fav. i've looked at so far has been flightquartes(dot)c om because they actually have specific sizes for each species, which makes me reassured t will fit her.
It's about $10 more expensive then the others but that sort of re-assures me even more that it is better quality. I mean I would much rather spend the extra $10 and be more satisfied then otherwise.
I just wanted to let you know I got a flight suit for my gc conure and used this video for assistance and putting a harness on has never been easier! :) Thank you so much!
I have a question about your flight suit training-I have to sweet birds who bite like crazy when I put on the flight suits. One of them (conure) seems to hold a grudge against me for putting it on him. A friend said to can the suit so I don't have bird that bites. What is your suggestion (we want to use the suit).
I would still use the suit -by stopping, you will teach him that biting works. But begin by putting it on for only 30 secs at a time, & during that time, give him unlimited access to his favorite thing, a type of food or toy or something like that. If he bites, walk away for a few minutes. You can't punish, but you can withdraw attention. Then, return and give him his favorite thing again. Take the diaper off after a short while, and put him back on the cage. A few weeks of this should do it!
Thank you for your suggestion...I think you are right that I should continue. I did slow down a bit and start hanging the suit in his cage with his favorite treat. He was less jumpy and then I put him in it with lots of treats in front. I took it off after about 5 minutes and he handled it well. Maybe I just went too fast at first!
Absolutely pointless.

check out Henrietta the Duck. She was a little testy in the video when I put on her diaper, but that was because of camera issues.

I've tried putting one of these on Rudy. He HATED it. It was his nemesis. I never could get him to wear it.

you've probably been told you are very attractive. Also that is hilarious. I have never diapered a bird before.

hi, i have two questions;
1, what are the diapers used for?
and 2, were do i get the diapers?
Dianasavras 3 years ago
Where do you buy the diapers? And if they chew them, could they choke on them, or learn how to pull it off?
