You are so off-subject. the Itune store format AAC 256 kbps is a medium low quality. We would need Apple LossLess to get the CD quality. I think Itunes store should sell Files under Apple lossless format. I calculated AAC 256 has only 18% of the data contained in a CD. In other words, when you buy an Itune Album, you get 18% of the data that is on the CD because CD:2 channels * 44,100 * 16 bits= 1,411,200 bits/s. so (itune)256 000 / (CD)1,411,200 = 0.18 COMPRESSION HAS NO FUTURE !
Exactly. All these pinheads have wet dreams of owning the format so they can be the one standing there getting 99c for every song and how that all ties into future licensing & advertising revenue mechanisms. It's old thinking (and this is a guy in his 40's who was in tech in the early days saying that) Brilliant ideas happen every day at major companies but they must be approved by the same stale pack of dinosaurs who seek to control, advertise at & otherwise bludgeon people. It's pathetic.
as long as customers are being fucked, i wont buy anything in those stores. i want to buy the right to own the song/movie/episode whatever. if i lose it, i want to redownload it, i want to copy it on my player/cell/friends computer. until i get this, i will pirate on!
yeah its REALLY bad when the itunes /quicktime installer is what..70 mb? SERIOUSLY? all i wanna do is play some damn music.. whats worse is the zune software is literally almost twice the size..
Itunes sucks period. Foobar2000 and winamp own the shit out of itunes. Plus, MP3tag is a good id3 tagger that actually saves tags and keeps them consistent unlike how itunes always screws them up >:(
I think itunes is great. Ive been using it for well over 2 years now and havent had one single problem ever. And thats on a windows computer. It does what its suspossed to, so no complaints from me. It does have 5 resourses that usually run in the backround but who cares. I sure dont they dont even ever affect computer performance at all.
Apple puts out an MP3 player called the iPod. They put out an 80GB, which can hold up to 20,000 songs. They tell you to get the amazing iTunes. So you get it. You put your money in, and since you got a practicly endless amount of space in your iPod, you go downloading to try to fill it up. Oh yea, and yer paying a buck for every song, 2 bucks for every show, and 10 bucks for every movie. Until you realize the cost of "filling up your iPod", you go broke. Apple are fuckin geniouses!
All I am saying is that they know how to make their money. Have their stuff at a reasonable price that looks cheap, have a big selection, and, most important, the product that this stuff is for can hold so much of it. That is the key. The core product has space to hold an enormous amount of songs and videos, all of which you pay for. It makes sense.
Well if you're not into "paying" for your music...download mp3's from Limewire or wherever your heart desires and upload them on your ipod. Share mp3's with friends. You don't HAVE to buy anything from itunes. The choice is yours.
Blah blah waaaaa waaaa...I'll agree. Itunes was crap on windows. On my Mac..it's alot better. Much better...so is my mac. I could only last 60 seconds on this...grinding on my ears.
Notice that both of them are from apple! Dont they, in a way, encourage you highly, or lightly force you, to get their mac for itunes? And you gotta use itunes, right, or it doesnt work! Well, that's what they say but their wrong! But still, I am telling you, they know what they are doing! Really, though, I hate apple.
Well originally it was developed for Apple users by Apple. It was something the Mac users had to themselves until Apple made it available to Windows users later on.
And they did it for the money, but didnt make it too much of a pleasesnt experience for Windows users. That is why, to encourage people to buy their product.
Of course they did it for the money. Running a business is about profit. I ran iTunes on my Windows machine when I got my first ipod and I didn't see a big difference. Speed was the only factor I saw.
I used windows from 91 to 2006. Changed to Mac for security reasons. I love them. I'll never go back unless Windows builds their OS on a Unix platform.
The Mac and the Windows PC are 2 completely different types of systems. The PC can do intense algarithms at lightning speeds with no problem, while the Mac might overheat or maybe crash at this level. Being able to do lots of intense algarithms enables you to play games much better, especially The Sims 2. On the other hand, Macs are insane at graphics, allowing top of the line editing abilities. Overall, Macs are great for editing and publishing while PCs are good for everything else.
I've came from a windows world and where the games situation was just that...I don't see it any longer. I've been playing all kinds of games on my Mac with no problems whatsover. What "intense algarithm" programs are you talking about?
One of the biggest is The Sims 2. You need a very good computer to run that game, and I'm not saying a Mac cant play it, I'm just saying that a PC can generally have less of a problem playing it.
I have no idea where you are getting your information from or if you are talking about old apple computers...but I know 4 people playng Sims2 on their Macs with absolutely no problems at all. I don't even see it as an issue with the Intel Core 2 Duo that they are using now. I play Quake 4 and Doom 3 no problem on mine. No lag or jump and a great frame rate.
I most definitely will continue enjoying my products. Not really much of an argument. Just small points being made. I do alot of beta testing and am still interested in the programs that have intense algorithms that could possibly make macs overheat and crash that you had mentioned earlier.
Try The Sims 2 with every expansion and every stuff pack, and get about a gig of mods off modthesims2. Then you will understand what I'm saying. I am using 2.8GB of RAM playing Sims 2.
hmmm...like I said earlier. I have about 5 friends that play that...with expansion packs and downloads and all that good stuff. Doesn't seem to be lagging them down. Oh well.
iTunes is an amazing piece of software. I'm a massive music fan and all of my media is optical. iTunes collects all that music and organises it so i can query it into smart playlists, allowing me to choose quickly from over 40Gb of music from a wide range of genre.
Party shuffle means that i don't always have to choose what i listen to, and feeding in a smart playlist that filters out my poorly rated tunes means i never hear a song i hate. works for me :)
dude u r a fucking stupid u dont khow shit about itunes

iTunes is superior to any other music management software. I used to love winamp, but that went out the window 2 years ago. Also, if your not in the dark as far as computers go, you should check your processes running anyway. He is right about crap running in the background even when iTunes is not...You can disable all of it (will make your computer run smoother and start up quicker)
I have never had any problems with iTunes on Windows. Its the best music management software I've used. It just works. I hate the faf of Real player and windows media player.
itunes is frickin awesome, something i couldnt live without. ppl say theres no variety in it, they are complete idiots. theres like 500 tv shows and 3 million songs, i dont know about u but thats kind of choicy, dont u think?
Umm okay. Dude. I will tell you a good tip of the wealthy (I am reletivly wealthy). This tip is a biggie in becoming wealthy and maintaining it. It is "why the hell spend more money than you have to to get the same thing?" If you spend your money, you are less wealthy. Obvious. So why spend more when you can easily pay so much less for the exact same thing, or even better? If you want much more examples, email me (youtube).

never had a good experience with WIndows Media Player, from my own research iTunes is better for Audio Enthusiasts who like to keep their big music library organized, and own an iPod, I own many iPods and primarily use a Mac so that's probably the reason I like iTunes so much, and WIndows Media users don't care very much about presentation or location of their music
I have media monkey. Check it out. Its free, and you can access your ipod or any other mp3 player from there, and put mp3 onto your ipod. It's great for libraries.
