Great work! I have recently begun the learning process for this work, and I am very excited. I don't know about it being the hardest piano work in history...lol. Each piece of music has its own difficulties and certainly some take more time and dilligence to overcome than others; plus, I think that is kind of tooting our own horn :p. If it were truly the pinnacle of difficult music, where could we go after we learned such a piece? You would have mastered everything piano at that point.
You are cookin' ,Jenny . It's fun . The cut reminds me of when I first discovered one of the Messiean's organ works where he was burning ,hands flying ,with exciting tonalities,and a work that was something I could understand ,relate to ,and admire.
definitely a complicated and tricky etude, but no where near hard*, at least in comparison to what's actually out there. Try Cassidy's '10 monophonic miniatures' for piano; insane.
