I've had my msr for a few weeks, my first heli. Mine seems very unstable, it won't "sit still" in the air, even with no stick input it will drift in lateral circles (not rotating).
Of course I've crashed it a few dozen times, but I think it did this when new as well - not totally sure since I was a new pilot. :)
I wonder if it's normal or if I got a bad one or something?
@themicromodder First off, I'm still new to heli's. Although, I've been into land based R/C for 6 years. I'm sure the manufacturers only use plastic because it's cost effective. The aluminum is only designed to work up to a certain extent. You can "lightly/moderately" crash the thing for years, and never... ever... have a problem. Furthermore, it is true that aluminum is has no flex, and if you ever bend a piece. It's screwed. A 1oz heli shouldn't have enough kinetic energy to worry about it.
@swixter it didnt really it add to it I was still getting my same time out it 6 1/2 mins out that os what I had my timer set for but got 7mins and 15sec until esc cut it off. Do you have or have u tried it. If you havent dont knock it. God is Great
I got the aluminum parts for the main hub and for the top blades but sometimes the msr likes to freak out on me and won't hover at all. This usually happens with a new battery. Any suggestions? And great looking heli!
@SuperWaterfowler10 I never had any problems when I put the aluim parts on mines. Now are you letting it cool off between flights. If not let it cool between fights . Not letting cool between flights will cause the motor to burn up and will not let it hover. Remember it's eletric you need too let it cool off for about 2 mins. You may half get a new main motor now. There are about $11.00. God is Good
@tntneon Ok So, If you have only disavantages, this is a bad upgrade... Less battery, must wait for cooling... Less control... So, better to keep it stock.
Very nice!!!,i assume all the play from the head is gone with the upgraded allu parts but how much weight has it put on?will be doing this to mine asap with scale fuz although i have a long way to go to be able to fly nose in and circuits,learning to fly a heli is HARD but this little baby is really helping me with its positive stability,mSR is fantastic heli and looks sweet maxed to the full X)
