I'm pretty sure Michelle did a wonderful job and I really wanna see this movie. But looks wise, I think Katherine Heigl would nail it BIG TIME! Look at the resemblance for crying out loud!!!!

I think its wonderful that Michelle Williams played studied Marilyn so well good for her but somebody who reminds me of a modern day Marilyn and looks a lot like her without even trying is Britney Spears cause they both are sexy at the same time but have this childlike innocence and vulnerability, I think Britney does remind me of Marilyn and could play her in a film in my opinion. Oh well but it makes so sad that Marilyn had to die so young and so pretty she really was a candle in the wind.

I think the reason most people sadly reject Michelle's portrayal is becasue they are looking for THE Marilyn Monroe and in case anyone forgot she is dead...Michelle I think did the best portrayal possible as far as she is concerned. Her easy swings from high and lows feels real and effortless and so very much the woman she was portraying. Michelle could never BE Marilyn but she got as close I think as anyone will ever get.

I know Michelle is portraying Marilyn's acting in this scene, but I think Michelle did a bettter job compared to the icon. Nevertheless, Marilyn is known for her charisma, sex appeal and beauty, more than for her talent.

@bennbed Mkay, I haven't seen this movie yet even though I really want to; But really? How could Michelle do a better job than Marilyn Monroe when Marilyn was the original actor in The Prince and the Showgirl? Marilyn is the original job of it <3

@EABellRNCLNC Right she does not look like Marilyn, in my opinion she is just shy and dowdy and vulnerable whereas Marilyn was shy.vulnerable and childlike but with sex appeal get it.In my opinion I think Britney Spears physically without even trying resembles Marilyn a lot and should play her in a movie or something they are both sexy but childlike, innocent and vulnerable, if Michelle Williams wants to play a Hollywood icon how about Ms. Debbie Reynolds shes cutesy wootsy like Michelle.

My week with marilyn was quite an average film in my opinion, but the cast was so incredibly fantastic, specially Michelle Williams.

I was very surprised to be impressed with Michelle. Her portrayal wasn't perfect--the voice was off--but she captured the essence of the woman behind the mask. She had real respect for Marilyn, and it showed in her performance--the only person who ever made her seem like more than a joke.

In all honesty, i wasnt sure about michelle williams in the role of Marilyn, but hen i watched it, i thought she did a wonderful job; as good as you can when playing one the the most iconic women in history.

I love michelle williams, god knows she is very talented..but I just dont find it believable. :(

I dont know of anyone that could be Marilyn but since I havent seent the film yet i hope my opinion is contradicted by her performance.
