The first time I ever heard this was back on the old 808 state show on Sunset radio in 1990. 808 State were away in Iceland I seem to remember and Eric Powell and a couple of other DJs filled in. It was Magic Mushroom season and me and my mate were tripping our faces off listening to the show. I still remember the rush of hearing the sound of the factory hooter or whatever at the start.
It was grim up North too...I remember this used to be HAMMERED by a certain dj in a little sweatbox in Manchester called 'The House' in 1990/91...I fucking loved this tune, as well as the last train to trancentral pure trance mix....heady days!!!! Thanks for posting.
I bloody love this, plus this is slowly becoming my second favourite KLF song after 3am eternal (still need to get the white room album in its entirety though)
@GettingPsychedelic Was that the US Arista version, or one of the other versions? My fave version has to be the US Arista version (because it has the "take the chance to advance" middle rap part of WTIL?, and the Live From The Lost Continent version of Last Train...)
Good to hear that....even happier to hear some cool people still posses original documentation. Hold it close cos it will be back in vogue very very soon
if u took it out "the ultra trax" cd, i have e-mail it to u stright of Mike Dutton's (what a pig fucker) Arkive CD, it's in super quality + i have the vinyl, but i can't rip it better then on Mike's CD (fuckfuckfuck him fuckin' thief!)

XV24 2 years ago
Who on earth taught you geography?!
They ARE Northern England towns and cities!
arglwyddanfradwrus 2 years ago
It was tongue in cheek, not that subtle though?!
when you live in Carlisle everyone's a southerner
XV24 2 years ago
I know! Mine was too! :)
I can imagine that, seeing Carlisle is quite 'high up' in the north, yes? :P

Well, if you are lucky enough to find one of the original pressings, you could buy it...
Or, it is on the "Ultra Rare Trax" album.

I think the original is still a class above the commercially released one!
arglwyddanfradwrus 3 years ago
I have the grey vinyl. Yes only 350 copies pressed. Class. Still love the other version with Drummond on vocals though.
ratty23uk 3 years ago
I have it on the 'Ultra Rare Trax' compilation album (The front has a picture of a sheep).
When this version was released, it was pressed on grey one-sided vinyl. Only 350 pressings were made.
If you by chance do get one of the grey-vinyl versions, INSURE IT!!!
arglwyddanfradwrus 3 years ago
if u took it out "the ultra trax" cd, i have e-mail it to u stright of Mike Dutton's (what a pig fucker) Arkive CD, it's in super quality + i have the vinyl, but i can't rip it better then on Mike's CD (fuckfuckfuck him fuckin' thief!)

Isn't this mix rare as fook? I'd love a copy of this version on vinyl. The one they released was no where near as good imo.
