@dpurdue yeah but since there is no tower they just need to ask permission from the closest business to where they are taking off. So I was once taking off near Nanaimo BC and I had to ask an ice cream stand if I could take off and the guy was being such a jackass he wouldn't let me until I bought 3 cones even though it was just me alone in the plane.
@dpurdue In this case yes as Vancouver Harbour and the area around downtown is controlled airspace. An interesting note is the tower is actually on top of a 460 foot skyscraper and is the highest control tower AGL in the world. At uncontrolled aerodromes no clearance is necessary however the pilot should anounce their intentions for take off and landing on a public radio frequency.
Many thanks for uploading this, I've only been imagining what this must feel like in the real-world, after doing it so many times in Flight Simulator :)
harbour air is nothing, kenmore air actually completely restores in house restoring 2 -3 customers equivellent frame - offs per year h- air uh, cant hang WE R THE BEST BEAVER OTTER CESSNA RESTO IN WORLD THEY KNOW IT, LOL
Im going to Thunderbay college this fall for the commercial licence. We do spinns and spiral dives in 1st semester. Do you know if you got to do them with float-planes too?
Have you done any in a flat plane?
Is it more dangerous? What does it feel like?
I've never done them, - only stalls.. in gliders :)
dont care for wine,.. or the hard stuff.. obviously had a few beers,... a few months back, when i posted that comment,..im proud to say , kenmore , does restore 3 or 4 high end beavs a year,.. and i do almost all the skin work, i am proud of harbour air, viking, and all the guys gals that keep these classics better than new!
Yes, the plane is a de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver. It's not brand new -- end of production was mid-1960's -- but the Harbour Air (Vancouver) planes all looked clean and well-maintained. I'll add some additional information to the entry.
I would never tire of liftoff.
Signing up for aviation classes. I WANT TO LIVE THE DREAM.

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology:
(1) Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we enjoy to fly on seaplanes?
(3) How does flying on seaplanes feel differently from flying on jets?
(4) What is the enjoyment (physically and emotionally) to fly on a seaplane?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
applesweeter 1 year ago
@applesweeter 1.because flying is just like FLYING LOL 2.because they can land almost anywhere
3 being a passenger on a jet doesn't feel like flying,it feels like a bus ride
4 the enjoyment is having so much freedom and seeing the world from a different perspective, see answer #1

Do seaplanes need ATC clearance for takeoff/landing?

I love flying sea planes. Some day I'll retire and live off my commercial sea plane certificate.
