Hey, I'm just about to head out there mate, was planning to go to TMT but was thinking it might be a bit to touresty in phuket???? hows was it for you, did u stay in the camp? any info / advice you can give would be BIG help! cheers.
Alright mate, I went in 2006 and you could say was bit touristy but you got out of it what you wnated, if you wanted to train hard they would train you hard. Id go back again but i would imagine it ha changed a fair bit now. I stayed inBang Noi bungalows nearby and was better to not be on the camps doorstep.
I'd love to go next year but I'm worried about being too unfit. I was very unfit all my life but I started weightlifting a year ago and now I train hard 6 days a week to improve my fitness, along with doing 2 hours of Jeet Kune Do a week. I'm getting fit fast but this looks hardcore. I turn 18 next May and really want to go (as soon as I've worked enought o have the money)
Dont worry about it mate, it doesnt matter what level fitness you are they will work you how you need to be worked. Thats me in the video and I only improved by just training and listening to the trainers. Honstly dont worry there is people of all different levels and fitness
Hi hows things, i was there the same time as you, im in the ring working the same time, have you done any Thaiboxing since? are you going back anytime
Hiya mate! I remember ya the fella from swansea! Good to hear from ya mate. Not done a hell of a lot moved up to liverpool and not many gyms around mainly training solo actually. Yea despearate to get back out there av to save some money first though i think! How bout you?
yeah going back out next year, training like hell here, but its a 50mile round trip just to train, got a full fight in december so working hard for that, same for me gotta save so looking at next sept or oct, keep with the training tho, good to hear from you Khrup
Definitely want to head there during the dry season to train Muay Thai and MMA. I've had a curse of dealing with substandard teachers (Isshin-Ryu karate guy that learned most Thai techniques from textbooks, and a college BJJer that wasn't even a blue belt) and the SECOND I've got my degree, I intend to fix that.
What are the accomodations like at this camp? And how much spending money woud someone need for a 3 week trip? I've been to Phuket in the military and I know that stuff is pretty cheap there. Looks like good training.
Im gonna be training at suwit gym for muay thai but im going to go to tiger camp 3 times a week for MMA whats the MMA like there(i.e alot of people, amount taught etc..)And what are the teachers like ... thanks
Yea the MMA was good there, there was a trainer from England called Gaz Rorriston who was very good and an australian guy called daniel sainty who was also very good jujitsu. Alex Reid is meant to be going back to train there too
Nah if you just get to Phuket airport they will send a taxi for ya and pick ya up, takes about 15mins to get there, is a really awesome place! You train as hard as you want, the nights out are awesome too!
Nice job man!
