Active 3D is technically better because it delivers true 1080p to each eye which passive does not. Having said that. Its all a matter of preference. Passive has a brighter 3D image than active. Truth is 3D still has alot of advancement to make so either way you go there will be newer better models out every year. The plus is almost all 3DTVs 2D modes are very amazing whether you buy a passive or active. The 2D experience on this lg is amazing so that's what really matters.

@HDTVinstallers , i set up all kinds of hdtv's but this tv really impresses me, great picture, great 3d in your face, easy on your eyes passive 3d too, cool apps, awesome motion remote like wii remote. arc & simplink features too.
