I remember a tornado form right on top of me while waiting for the bus and I saw the sky turn really dark. Lightning was everywhere and I was scared for my life when suddenly the bus came just in time. The bus saved my life because a tree fell over the spot where I was standing. I didn't know it was a tornado until a few hours later. This happened in October 2010 in New York City

i live in Dekalb County on april 27 then when the power went out we saw an f4 tornado right in our backyard.We went into the bathroom to protect us from shards of glass then i heard popping sounds none of us were hurt and our dogs did not have a scratch on them.Some houses were destroyed and people died in the tornado.We were cleaning up after the storm.Were any of your friends caught in the storm too?

I have never seen a tornado before and seeing how precise the damage is (one side of the street is fine and the other destroyed) left me awestruck. Man, that sounds similar to a tornado I survived too. I'm not sure how bad the tornado actually was but it didn't kill anyone that I knew of... I was living in a little trailer park in Sedalia, Missouri at the time and the tornado was heading straight for it, and it actually "jumped" over the trailer park. The bottom end of it kinda started going back up. It was still intact otherwise and it was right over the trailer I lived in... scary stuff.
