  • hip-hop is far from dead it just doesnt live on BET or the radio anymore...it now resides underground but is slowly but surely resurfacing...lupe fiasco, j. cole, wale mixtapes, little brother, roots, last time i checked Nas hasnt retired come on now...u cant focus on the flockas and lil waynes and say hip hop dead...focus on those artists that are out doing their thing trying to preserve hip hop

  • @FATALNOTFICTITIOUS no doubt. however, remember when we use to be able to just turn the radio on and this would be playing. we use to pop the tape in and just let that shit record until the end of the tape lol

  • @lubui2583 LOL....hell yea yo i remember it was so much good music on the radio back then that u would actually sometimes MISS the song u was looking to record....nowadayz they play the same songs like 30 times a day in rotation

  • I wonder what happends when we die

  • Heard a Dre interview today talking about his new albumn, he said he wanted to bring back the west coast...I want to bring back real hip-hop, the commercial rap was good but it was mainly beef, this shit right here...This is true shit, fuck saying R.I.P hip hop, it lives with me every damn day!

  • this cats LYRICAL content showed his intelligence level and i DOUBT ANYONE even "hov" could get at Keith lyrically.

    MAN I miss HIP HOP.

  • I fell in love with this track when I first saw this video... thats why I was pissed when this wasnt the version on the album when I bought it lol

  • it was like second nature to light a blunt to this back in tha day..

  • MANAFEST THIS QUATER POUND AND PASS IT AROUND 420 GET LIFTED!! OG HIPHOP!

  • Goddamn Video Censorship. Ugh! Bump this shit though.

  • rap city died cuz all current rappers lost their book of rhymes

  • @CECO017 Rap City died because BET turned into MTV3: The Black version. Most crappy programs. More reality shows. much less music. And to replace Rap City with The Deal (which by the way comes on at 2am in the morning here) was just a major fail.

Imagine with technology like Twitter and youtube how much better Rap City would be today...

  • No video vixens, no phantoms, no gucci shoes, no fur coats, no funny glasses, no ice, no fake jewelry. This is the true concept of a hip hop video. I miss this shit.

  • @celticdevil4 PREACH!

  • @celticdevil4 look i like old school 80's- late 90's rap as much as the next guy but let's not act like kanye west aint a good lyricist...does his music have that late 90's sound? no...but he does have some thought provoking conscious material, as well as some watered down commercial shit...his whole college dropout was fire not to mention his late registration pushed the envelope to what hiphop usually sounds like...but hey thats just my opinion...as a whole music will never be how it was tho

  • Goin back and lookin at stuff like this makes me happy and sad. I don't even wanna turn on the radio cause most of the so called rap on there is GARBAGE! long live the 90's

  • It is better to stay quiet and be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

  • just Read your messages man thats what I think about.

  • Whats up StillDickLicker. No mean to hurt ur feelings. Deepest apologies. Didnt know internet thugs like u were so sincere about hip hop knowleadge.

  • I'm sorry was you giving me props or just add fuel to the hate fire?

  • yo Keith Murray is one the earliest lyrical master minds of the hip-hop game and Is known for his rugged style and in your face punchlines. If I do recall in one of his old interview he said " when you hear a good punchline its like a mental high, like you just sparked another a firework and watched it fly off or its like a fat kid getting the last cookie out the cookie jar." ha I like that. Good punchlines and word play make an Emcee.

  • great insight bro

  • haha-lik how related th craziness or lookx or mic

  • Keith Murry. One of the most understated lyricist EVER. I really like the Most beautifullest....... ah! I miss those times. I miss Hip Hop. The way it used to make you feel. Wow, if todays RAP is so good (because its NOT Hip Hop) then how come I never want to listen to that sht?

  • Not much rappers these day arnt lyrical no more and talented. what a shame. U have some rappers tryin to keep hip hop alive.

    DEF SQUAD!!!

  • bangin

  • internet-thug ALERT!WARNING TO EVERYONE,THIS FELLA IS AN INTERNET GANGSTA! HE WILL PROBABLY DO SOME GANGSTA SHIT ON YOU ON THE INTERNET! BE ALERT!

  • classic shit

  • hell yeah...the greatest era in HIP HOP (east coast)...

  • The problem is......no one WANTS to hear lyrics anymore. They want dumbed down club beats and hooks. People don't have patience for real lyrical content anymore. The same way people have slowly lost the ability and desire to read novels, or sit through movies that don't have a lot of shit blowing up, and massive CGI effects. SAD.

  • You're absolutely right. People also don't have time to talk to one another, instead choosing to text and e-mail instead of meet up or call each other. The world has gotten very impersonal.

  • Talk about it Bro!! sad!!!

  • i would have to agree completely

  • WORD UP. Thanks for this comment. Quite profound indeed

  • @khendriks1 indeed

  • @khendriks1 Xactly!!

  • @khendriks1 agreed 100%

  • Question folks...There appears to be an alt version of the lyrics can anyone enlighten me on this? First chorus version - like this - goes "I Get Lifted / people makes the world go round ... to the funky sound" but a second goes bit different like "Roll a Phillie and get" and "Fire up this funk", both of which phrases don't appear in THIS version.
