If I were to write an age it would have been Spire. All the scientific impossibilities that end up making perfect sense. A perfect braid of science and imagination with the backdrop of massive cathedral-like arches and chisled pillars balanced over a starry expanse.

Atrus went to most of these Ages to learn and teach his sons. They Ages were beautiful, but transcendent...there was always something more to be learned from them.  This video seems to capture that transcendent beauty about the ages.

Actually it is from the game. It was in Spire, when you finally get to the bottom of the nearest island. Hence the name of the track, and title of the video.

i have this game. i love the myst series but whenever i get to the part near the start when the bridge collapses it always freezes! talk about bad timing

Is there a way to play the game so that you can get the fire spirit? No matter how hard I try, I can never get it. I have tried 4 times to get the fire spirit and every time I try I either get water or wind. What can I do to my gameplay to get the fire spirit?

i managed to get the fire spirit once! the only different thing i've done was the fact i was bad to Yeesha (ignored her when she called me, released her bugs, etc) and i've met a fire spirit first in the serenian stone forest so i think that's the way! On the other hand how do you get the water spirit? I never managed to get that one!

I always get the water spirit...but I don't see how I do things any differently. I went to Spire first, before Haven...if that makes a difference

I agree; Cyan either never understood or lost sight of what made the myst series special when they implemented real-time 3d.

recent computers just can't render graphics like Myst IV in realtime 3D, and you're right, myst V and Uru have lost that gfx kick that always was very strong on the myst series. I would like to see the most beautiful one (myst iv) in realtime 3D with exactly the same graphics, in about 5 years it should be playable.

there is also the graphics...the lighting and texture in Myst IV were like photographs whereas Myst V and Uru were clearly computer generated, so they didn't look like real places. If somehow they can make a 3D realtime game with graphics as real as Myst IV...

Myst IV was so much better than Myst V and Uru. dun get me wrong, I thought some of the ages in Myst V and Uru looked awesome but let's just say that I can vividly remember everthing (even small little things like a fruit or a desk) well in Myst IV but the other ages in the other games are kind of fuzzy. Somehow, moving in nodes created a sense that the places were much bigger than they really were cus you couldn't go everywhere. the unseen made it bigger in my own imagination.

Jack Wall did a stunning job in creating sountrack for Exile and Revelation, but music for Revelation is definitely the best one:) One of the reasons why this game is in my veins :P
