I used to play this game as a kid on my 486. I spend all my money to buy this game. I wasn't good at driving but I loved doing crashes and messing.

I did that too. My older brother bought the game together with a friend. I only wanted to keep crashing but he was seriously driving and trying to set records and stuff. I remember there being a certain key that you pressed to turn off all breaking assistence and then you could just accelerate to the maximum speed and ram into the car in front. Ahh ... Memories ...

yes, it's a hack. There were also ways to make it easier for cars to have damage. At the highest setting, your car would fall apart at the starting grid ;)

to the people interested, a new version of DOSBox was released which is much, much faster than the previous ones. It runs Grand Prix 2 rather well, and you can record videos with it - much easier than the way I did this movie (which was years ago, by the way).

I used an old utility called pcxdump to make screenshots from the dos command line. it was made a long time ago... I converted the shots into a movie with some other utilities (animation shop from jasc, I think).

If the game runs in the emulator dosbox (I don't know!), you might be able to record a movie easier.
