Why are people complaining about how fast it is? i love this piano version because it is different and it still sounds really good. and besides i'd like to see all of your "eyes on me" piano covers
A bit stiff and fast. Keep it slow and smooth, just look at the great YouTube pianists like KyleLandry and Arkton, great covers of this song who keep the regular beat (and I suggest watching Arkton cause he's better).
In my opinion, you held the sustain pedal too much, it was too fast, and you showed no dynamics or tempo interpretation (except right at the end). It was too loud; it should be played as gently as possible.
Despite all this, I do give you credit for knowing all the notes and managing to play each one in that high speed.
That was great, I guess all pianists like to play the original song faster than its supposed to be played, but I would recommend playing this particular song a bit slower, gives it more feeling, other than that it was nicely played.

it is a bit fast, and there is no dynamic contrast, you see its suppose to be romantic, i don't think you really capture the mood of the song that well... you really need to play ff8 to see what the song is all about... anyways you've got a good memory, i would'nt be able to remember the whole song... i don't even remember the first 2 lines!
IMO it's a bit fast, but as sashimiyum says that's up to the player. However, David abuses of the right pedal, he shouldn't "shorten" some of the notes, I mean, he does kind of pizzicato in many of them (sorry, it's difficult for me to explain music things in english :S )
pfft... Screw them! I really like it too. The speed is adding your own personality to the song and how you think it should go... There is no rule saying you have to stick to the designated tempo. so i say Great job <3 <3

It's good but needs a TAD bit of work still ^^;; Like, the melody is a bit rushed at some of the parts and then slows down then speeds up again and it's much louder too XDD I think that you should get more used to the camera and recording and such, or imagine that you're just playing for your own benefit so you play as good as you can ^^ But, hands down, I could never memorize this thing... unless I practiced it a lot ;D
i see that other people are posting videos of the song. haha.. so we'll have to re-record sometime. but i don't know if i'll see david again. he might be going to school somewhere else. and this time we'll record it on a baby grand instead of that out of tune piano. it hasn't been tuned since 1985. and some keys won't work unless you pound on them. haha. anyways. comment once i post the new video. =]

^I agree. There's a time limit on how much your brain is "willing" to learn. Mine's around 1 hour and I only practise when I feel like it, which is usually frequently.
About the video, IMO, you play a bit fast. Nice performance, otherwise, including a few cringe moments.^_^
BTW, d'you guys prefer Eyes on Me or Melodies of Life?

practicing 24/7 is not good. nyehehehe. I know your just exaggerating but, practice and take breaks after 2 hours, you'll do much better. and perform better ^___^
whoa that was fast... when i played eyes on me on the piano it was slow and i didn't pound the piano keys. play eyes on me like the piano version that nobuo uematsu did. I like the way you played it...not like my students. i give it a 5 out of 5.

I agree with the previous post, it lacks emotions. It's almost as though you were rushing through this piece in a monotone rhythm, slow down some parts to bring out the significance of other notes, and soften them, so you don't have to pound the high octave just to be overheard. Overall great accuracy. But the piece did not come alive.

I think you should play slower but the way you play is now good too because it's in sync with the lyrics =)
