I'm no expert but I was watching Arthur Haines on You Tube, looks like he knows what he's talking about. He suggests getting the Chaga down to a powder, it also needs a good 45 min's hard boil to release its goodness, he also recommends a Tablespoon of it. X
Never tried making tea this way before. I should try it. I've just discovered Pau D'arco, and I think I'll give it a try, especially since you say it has a nice flavour. Neem leaf is also a great anti-fungal herb but it tastes really really bitter. Hemp leaf and root would also be a great addition to this combo.
I know this is old...but I have been doing research on Pau D'Arco tea and I really loved it. I had just bought it out of the blue cuz of I thought the name sounded cool. One time I came on with a case of chills and fever, I took a Pau D'Arco tea and let's just say...INSTANT FIX!
Thanks for this video. I am trying to find my way on a raw mostly vegan lifestyle. Do you have any info on hormonal balancing wih herbs? I take fish oil. If you've seen Suzanne Sommers , David Wolfe and Daniel Vitalis on you tube, you would possibly try to incorporate it into your diet. But, I have hormonal related cancer diagnosis and hysterectomy 10 yrs ago. I'm 46 now, but have terrible hot flashes. Dr. put me on hormone replacement and I had recurrence.
Thanks for making this video available. I forgot what a great tea Pau D'Arco is. I make a tea using Chaga and Reishi and recommend that combo with Pau D'Arco and Cats Claw for anti cancer. thanks GOD bless and I pray you are continuing to heal...JB
hello starflowergirl ive a suggestion for you that you might like.
soak the pau d'arco overnight in water in a glass jar and this will help release its nutrients . also a squeeze of lemon juice will help break down the cell walls.
@isengrimm1 Sorry, I dont have any advice on horsetail, except to harvest it in the spring/summer as soon as it comes up verses waiting till the fall time.
Thanks for your video. I really love it. Have you had verifiable benefits from mountainrose pau d'arco? I have read that w/ pau d'arco you get what you pay for, that the cheaper stuff is often not even really pau d'arco inner bark. I've been using Wisdom Naturals pau d'arco, which comes out to about $36/lb, and it is DELICIOUS, never bitter, and supposed to be very strong in medicinal components. But it is so pricey...mountainrose is very inexpensive, may I ask what results you've gotten>
I make pau d'arco this way - using a glass pan. It is an excellent herb. I don't understand why you would use an anti-fungal like pau d'arco along with chaga, which is a fungus, though.
thanks for sharing. i experienced athlete's foot for 12+ years and after drinking pau d arco for only few months, all signs of this fungus went away. i have not had a reoccurrence in 2 years....found best pau d arco is fine grind at buypaudarco
Awesome video! Looks beautiful where you live... must be pretty chilly at four in the morning. Daniel Vitalis just posted a chaga elixir video, if you haven't already seen it.. good info
Hi - Thank you for posting. I just got some chaga but it is a huge piece. Do you have a recommendation for breaking it into smaller pieces? And you think that is a good size dose that you put in? Also you said you should drink a shot of apple cider vinegar or lemon with the tea right?
Your welcome. The lemon is just for the cats claw or pau d'arco from what others have said.
You can use a saw or serated knife to cut the chaga into smaller chunks. Its pretty soft and breaks up pretty easily. As for doses, you will have to gauge what works for you. I started with several marble sized chunks per quart of water.
If you are going to consume any kind of tea that has Cats Claw or Pau D' Arco, make sure that you let it cool down then add in some fresh lemon juice so the tannins can properly be absorbed through the colon.
#1: I have SO much respect for you taking your health matters into your own hands and putting trust in your own knowledge and the herbs. You are incredibly inspiring whether you believe so or not.
#2. Finally! I've been looking for a nice video like this explaining this process.
#3. Nice quality video and you have a great voice :)
Curtoe33, Thank you so much for your positive, inspiring and supportive comments. It is tough blazing my own trail to gain health and wellness and it hasnt been an easy one. Words cant express the immense gratitude for your response!!!!
Wow videogme, I am not familiar with that. I will have to do some research on it tho because I want the most benefits possible. I also get my cats claw from MTN Rose. I know that I frequently keep the herbs and boil them several days. Also I have put the herbs into the water letting the pan sit overnite on the stove for a quicker morning as well as getting more out of the dried herbs.
Hi videogme, I just looked at several sites and yep, it explains that the acid in either lemon juice or apple cider vinegar added to the tea will neutralize the tannins and make the alkaloids more available to be absorbed. Thanks for sharing this info.
What do you put into your tonic? I have other medicinals such as reishi, milk thistle, rehmannia and i am awaiting an order of red clover. Ive tried dock, but its too bitter even with vanilla bean.
Red clover is amazing I have some, and I use astragalus root ginger root lemon rind fennel seed lavender thyme hops all sorts of things I mix it up all the time but I always add a sweetener :( I like a stevia leaf, or some green stevia powder
Doesn't the heat from the boiling water destroy the active ingredients in the pau darco?

Actually you look like you've snuck abit of hemp bud in with that tea.
No, seriously though, that would be a good thing if you've got cancer. Just look up Rick Simpson oil.

i rake my chaga chunks over a cheese grater (the small holes on the grater). It stretches your chaga supply.

I just got some cat's claw from mountain rose and it says to soak the cat's claw in lemon water to get more benefits that are missed when boiling.
Have you heard of this or is it just not true?
