Iolo was playing with fire then, sleeping with his dads' boss. As much as understand the saying "you can't help who you fall in love with" my own advice to him who be to date someone closer to your own age; and who isn't doing business with one of your parents.

Ahh, I have so much respect for the Welsh people especially since Daffyd Thomas came out in his village in Llandewi Breffi and though it isn't easy for him being the only gay in his village, he always gets away with wearing outrageous and outlandish clothes. I've been wondering when is he gonna show up? And why couldn't they cast Tom Jones as well and let him sing the theme song "green, green grass of home" or "Delilah" instead of that lifeless ringtone of a tune!

Alun is indeed a good looking older guy. Which I prefer personally. I would like an Alun for myself. He looks hotter than Scott. And he is mature enough to handle a relationship with Iolo. Even taking to the extent of getting a flat for them to see each other..... a "love nest". Very sweet and romantic

I don't get how some people think Alun is unattractive. I think he is good looking. He seems like a pretty normal middle-aged guy. It's a nice change from soaps always trying to cast ONLY attractive people...as if average or "ugly" people don't exist or something.

I personally think Alun is charming. As a person of that age, he indeed has his own temperament...Younger person doesn't have that kind of thing.But there still a big challenge waiting for them...I hope that they can finally get together... This storyline is quite attractive to me.As for another storyline(Ste and Brendan/ Aaron and Jackson / Simon/ Christian and Syed), they are not so attractive to me now

It was great to see two men in bed together.It happened with Kyle and Oliver but then it never happened again and they were written off the show.Europe is more open that here in US.You could have a really boring story with Iolo being miserable and feeling sorry for himself but he's a grown man.

I also love that a Welsh soap, was able to show their gay male characters in bed together, being affectionate, loving, flirting: all the things that are shown for straight characters. Yet, on a recent cancelled soap, a former younger, supposedly "hotter" "OTP" could never have that opportunity. They could only jump on the bed, fully clothed.

I'm enjoying this storyline. I'm glad that a Welsh soap has the guts to show their fictional gay characters with as many "shades of gray" as their straight ones. Why shouldn't Iolo be allowed to have an affair w/a married man? Folks wanted him w/a guy who hit him, threatened and stalked him. That's a better option?

@DMR2006 Well yes because Scott is 'hotter'. Never mind that he's straight and he and Iolo never had anything resembling a romantic relationship. They're meant to be......

As for Iolo sleeping with a married man, soap characters have been doing it since soaps began. It's not right, but it's your average soap fare. I'm glad Iolo is getting the same soapy stories as everybody else. It sure is better than him being lonely, lecturing Dani about stealing and not having a storyline.

Why is this so controversial? Soap characters cheat on their wives/husbands all the time. It's a staple of the genre. Some of the most epically popular soap supercouples ever started with someone cheating.

Whatever I do or don't feel about cheating in real life, soap operas thrive on it, just like pregnancy scares, paternity issues and ruthless business practices.

If you're going to watch soaps, you're going to see people making bad decisions because they are blindly in love, etc.

@PlatypusRising55 IMO, think it's because the folks that have been shipping Scott/Iolo after that one kiss are pissed that the couple hasn't happened yet. All that they have are fan fictions to tied them over, until they hope the writers pair up Iolo with Scott.

But I do find dishonesty deplorable. There is nothing in his character that would make me like him.

And Iolo is behaving like a silly teenage girl, I thought after the way he handles Scott he would have a bit of more intelligence.

The show is in Welsh and has a gay storyline. I'm beyond happy! Now comes the hard part, figuring out who's who and what the show's about!

Alun was atually quite romantic with Iolo-surprsing him. And the bed scene was the first time I saw any chemistry between them. cute.

Gender,or pot-belly are not my prob with Alun.. I just feel sad for Iolo,b/c the guy's married and a DAD. But it's a SOAP-so there HAS to be dramatic reveal where Alun's wife finds kinky pix of the 2 of them,dressed as Welsh-sex- plumbers--JK- lol

John Edwards who had the affair(& baby) while his wife,& mom of his kids, Elizabeth was at death's door in CHEMO. He was also attractive-- and cold-blooded. It was all about HIM.

UK soaps tend to cast 'normal' looking people on their shows. Sure you always have your very good looking hunks and babes, but most of the time, the actors and actresses look like your next door neighbors.

I personally don't think Alun is unattractive. He's your everyday middle aged guy to me. The endless complaints about his looks are getting old to me. If it bothers folks that much perhaps they should look elsewhere where they'll only see 'pretty' people.

The cuddling in bed scene was O.K., but I'm spoiled by the German soaps. which have been much more frank in showing eroticism between men. Also, they covered up too much of IoIo in that scene. He has a well muscled body and this would show why he's so desirable, besides his cute face and personality. It's a start, i guess.

This is rural Wales - only 200 miles from London. Iolo & Alun are very true to life. There are many married gay men in this world. And if one comes out, or falls in love with another man, it'll mean: upheaval, pain. Yet it's not a world of repression and ignorance. Iolo & Alun choose to stay in their homeland and speak their native language, Welsh. But they can also speak English and they're free to turn their back on Wales and move to London (or elsewhere) any day. But that's not their choice.
