NO, even white ladies should not be using the long clip it does NOT look like a finger wave to anyone who knows the difference. f you want an authentic finger wave it requires fingers and lots of gel ( you can brush it out later to create a different look).Using your fingers DOES create a different look. When using a curling iron, like most vids seem to show is called a "Marcel" hairstyle. It is NOT the same as finger waves. If you look at the finished product of both you can see the difference.

The only part i don't like is using a lot of gel. I want it to be a softer look if you know what im trying to say but i'm going to give it a try sometime this week....prolly wont turn out very good though lol

@ShesCrazyBeautiful if you'd like a softer look allow the gel to dry for a few hours or so and brush it out to give it a smother and less hard plastic look.

how did it look when finished? did you use roller or pincurls on the ends? Did you conb it out, for soft spreadable waves or leave it crispy and slick and flat, after drying?

Yes, its a mixture between water, gel and leave in conditioner. You use the water to keep the gel soft until done. You use the water in a spray bottle. The leave in conditioner is to make the hair easy to comb through while makeing waves. You start out by making a C shape. Concave part towards head. Take the middle of the C and put your index and middle finger there. hold firmly. draw the comb towards the face then push the comb under to make a bump. hold with fingers. Continue down head. =]

you can use wrap lotion with a combo of gel.. you dont need alot of gel like back in the 90's

If I blew my hair straight and flat ironed it (thats how I get my natural hair straight) would the wrap lotion mess it up?
