I may be wrong, but ford and GM made their 6 cyl engines after their best v8 versions

the GM 4.3 is the 5.7 with 2 cylinders shaved off. the pistons and connecting rods are interchangeable with the same STD cylinder bore. this I know is fact. But I thought the 3.8, and i just did the math was the same windor design as the 5.0. this is something i am going to have to research. but I do agree, the 3.8 was a really great overall engine. not a turd

You got it all wrong, dude. 85 Stang was not doing 6.4 14.9 and neither was 87 and 88. They were mid to high15 sec. and for 84 was high 16. I have alot of old MT and C&D magazine. Stang beat Camaro in the early 80's, but not in 88 or 89 and definitely not the 4th gen of the 90's. Check out May 1994 Camaro vs. Mustang and see the break downs there and timeslip they go as far back as the 60's. You'll see no car was doing 14.9 in the early '80's except for the top of the line Vette and Ferraris.

@jfrye20082008 its easy to get 600 hp from an sc. i have 480hp and all i did was get a cold air intake, polly coated screws, diablo racing chip, bigger intake, beefed up teh bottom end and got a high rise cam. i was going to get her port and pollished, bored, new heads, large intercooler, and a larger exhaust but i never put the parts on cuz my 480 was enough. so to say 600Hp is BS, i know you can get 800hp outta those engines. BEFORE going superstreet my brothers 623Hp LS1 camaro runs 11's.

You're looking at 550 horsepower as the top tier limit, for an aftermarket blower for the SC 3.8, Magnum Powers made a better s/c case for them, and with ported heads, wicked cam, exhaust, 17~lbs of boost, it's doable----not 667whp though lmfao, even with a manual, that's some 775 crank hp---impossible.

Honestly to me, nothing sounds better than a finely tuned high horsepower V6 with a nice solid exhaust system.

Its just a little too raspy, not by much, id say about 10db too raspy.

it's real nice at cruise, no drone, and its pretty quiet with normal driving. It's obviously only that loud at wide open throttle, but it's good that I can keep it quiet when I need.
