To Pika, no, it is easy to hide behind a name and I don't think this very young mind would say it to this old man. We also see the reason Geriatric 1927 is so popular: He is moderate; he isn't screaming at the top of his lungs or being vulgar. He is. That takes a long time to learn; some people never do.

My point is that if they base who gets rewarded on their videos based on who gets the most views then they are advertising after the initial rush of some odd 26,000 views. menaing they wont get their advertisements on until the video isnt getting that many views anymore. they kind of have to guess who is going to put out a video with a lot of hits.
I would love to think that others will take your lead, and some will, but we should bear in mind that many people on youtube are young and/or have very little money, and will have a very hard time not accepting it, which is understandable.

Youtube will not and should not hand out money for views. Why should they give money to people who are willing to produce videos to post for free? Second, this will encourage cheaters and all sorts of bad stuff. Bad news, bad news.
What they should do is give an option that the money those of us who don't need it is concerned is given to their nominated charities. Those who nominate a charity to receive their income instead of them who have a badge placed by their account, under "director account" another badge saying "charity funding account". To me, the value in you and your movies is simply you! It embodies so much of what pulls my heart strings about humanity. I love that each video appears as a stream of consciousness mixed with recollection about a topic. So the topic becomes money, and the way you carefully toss it around but end with a strong sense of family makes me admire you more.

Very good views. I agree with you. I started out on YouTube to meet new people, express myself and have become rich in friends which is enough. Fame has it's problems even on YouTube. The more views you get, the more chance of having hater comments, the harder it is to connect with everyone that subscribes to you, reply to every comment and email, etc. It's enough trying to keep up with 2 sites as well.

I dissagree that "subscibers have no realtion to the ammount of views people get on their videos." I think subscribers and video views do have a good relation, but not strong enough to pay people based on subscribers.
The profit sharing has to do with a site called cashsurfers(DOT)com All of your videos are over there right now and YouTube didn't tell us. There are also sites online such as podzinger that allow people to watch our DISABLED videos and videos the you have marked as PRIVATE.

You will be able to watch the stats on how many times they have been clicked, what has been clicked and when.
I feel that regular people and popular vloggers' will not get paid in the long run. These are deals being made for the major markets and companies that own the rights to the information being shared. So CBS will get paid for their videos and the cute new born baby video for all the family to see will become obsolete. I hope that doesn't come true.

You should re-consider 100% to charity. There won't be a pot of money so to speak. YT will probably sell ads based on views + the demographics of the videographer's audience so some vid producers (You) will draw higher CPM rates. This equates to more $ that you may give to charity. People look up to you so please lead the way...make the world a better place. In the states actor Paul Newman gives away the profits of his food company to charity.

Youtube will need to improve it's detection software if to make this work. Currently people can set up hundrds of dummy subscibers and spam their video to the top of the honors lists (eg Mia Rose). If advertisers pay per numbers of views then more and more people will do this.

To me, the value in you and your movies is simply you! It embodies so much of what pulls my heart strings about humanity. I love that each video appears as a stream of consciousness mixed with recollection about a topic. So the topic becomes money, and the way you carefully toss it around but end with a strong sense of family makes me admire you more.

Surely, I am as worried about recent developments as you are. I also agree with the minefield assessment. It is one thing already to have these "mystery people" that feature and ultimately decide if videos are go or no-go. But quite another to toss money into that equation and... BOOM. I have to believe that suddenly more people will care just how videos are "featured".

You integrity has been a shining light since the burst of media attention and I respect it greatly. For my part, though, if I ever manage to post a video myself I'd probably accept the advertising option purely for the momentary thrill at receiving a little money. It's not a thought I'm proud of.

Very good views. I agree with you. I started out on YouTube to meet new people, express myself and have become rich in friends which is enough. Fame has it's problems even on YouTube. The more views you get, the more chance of having hater comments, the harder it is to connect with everyone that subscribes to you, reply to every comment and email, etc. It's enough trying to keep up with 2 sites as well.

I dissagree that "subscibers have no realtion to the ammount of views people get on their videos." I think subscribers and video views do have a good relation, but not strong enough to pay people based on subscribers.

The profit sharing has to do with a site called cashsurfers(DOT)com All of your videos are over there right now and YouTube didn't tell us. There are also sites online such as podzinger that allow people to watch our DISABLED videos and videos the you have marked as PRIVATE.

Well geriatric1927 YouTube is owned by Google and Google has their own technology called Google Ads. As you probably know. You could customize these links to be associated with your videos to get maximum 'clickage' if you must. You will be able to watch the stats on how many times they have been clicked, what has been clicked and when.

I feel that regular people and popular vloggers' will not get paid in the long run. These are deals being made for the major markets and companies that own the rights to the information being shared. So CBS will get paid for their videos and the cute new born baby video for all the family to see will become obsolete. I hope that doesn't come true.

You should re-consider 100% to charity. There won't be a pot of money so to speak. YT will probably sell ads based on views + the demographics of the videographer's audience so some vid producers (You) will draw higher CPM rates. This equates to more $ that you may give to charity. People look up to you so please lead the way...make the world a better place. In the states actor Paul Newman gives away the profits of his food company to charity.

Youtube will need to improve it's detection software if to make this work. Currently people can set up hundrds of dummy subscibers and spam their video to the top of the honors lists (eg Mia Rose). If advertisers pay per numbers of views then more and more people will do this.
