@WCOFF3219 If I took the time to take off the cover of the pickup I could show you that it says Pearly Gates on the back but im not going to waste my time to do that so ya.
@nasser12345 I'm thinking of putting new pickups in my explorer, and i don't like active pickups. Do you think it would be a good idea to put a Seymour Duncan invader in the Bridge, and a Pearly Gates in the neck. Or would i be better off putting another high output pickup like the 'full shred' or the JB in the bridge
This cannot be a pearly gates pickup it has it has a smooth cover more like the Tony Iommi. The Pearly Gates has pole piece screws on the cover whare as the Iommi does not. I have both pickups and they are both great.
Great job giving a range of notes and chords , getting a decent sound and getting alot across about how the pickup sounds- very helpful, bonus points for not babbling at the beginning... Also great playing- u def own yr notes!
May I ask if Pearlys are for both pickups or another one...ONe great person told me 59 and a Pearly gate...is that what you do?? Mine are EMG 81; 85s.
I still think Gibson guitars are overrated. For instance I would prefer a Charvel instead of a Gibson at anytime. When you buy a Gibson you buy a mediocre guitar with a very expensive logo on it, cause it's the Gibson-logo that costs, not the guitar. Just like you buy Nike shoes, the Nike-logo is the expensive part, not the shoe itself.
@DavidKim1985 i just did. i took out the Burstbucker Pro in my LP Standard and put in a PG. Sounds Kick ASS for blues and Rock. next project is Jimmy Page wiring and then my goldtop is done. best $90 i have spent on music so far
Yea this is a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickup and i bought it from a company. I bought it because I knew it would sound just as good as a Gibson and im pretty sure that the guitar player from Led Zeppelin and AC/DC have that exact pickup in there guitar as well. Never had an Ibanez but it should sound pretty good. I even have a cheap 10 watt stagg amp and have a great Led Zeppelin and AC/DC type tone. Would be better if i had a bigger amp Marshal, that would bring out the pickup a lot.
@nasser12345 Couldnt be more wrong about the picups lol... Jimmy Page played vintage t tops and Angus Young plays his own signature pickup. Before that he had used various PAF's. The Sh-1 59 is actually closer to that AC/DC tone.
Hey wonderful tone!!! The best sounding pickup I have ever heard. Did you handwind it or buy it from a company? Please give the model name of the pearly gates pickup, you have easily the best AC/DC-Led Zepp tone I have ever heard. HOw do you think it would sound in an Ibanez, in bridege position? Thanks.
Thanks for putting this up. I just put a Pearly Gates in my bridge on my SG as well, finally a video to see what I can expect when I pick it up from the shop (:
What people think sounds the best is personal, but lets face these bad boys have definitely improved this guys Stagg SG. I think they sound sweet

Gibson guitars are overrated. Put a Pearly in almost any guitar and it will kick the living shit out of ANY Gibson.
Well spent money on the pickup man!
djaevulens 1 year ago
@djaevulens These sound great on any guitar almost, but the best (too me) on an Agile AL-3000 with Pearly Gates and Custom Custom or a 59
vanzeposmith910 7 months ago
@djaevulens what if u put a pearly in a gibson?... it'd be pretty badass

Thanks a good 70 bucks spent on this pickup rather than $700 on an actual Gibson.
