And in response, out come the negative attack postings of the "tolerance OR ELSE" gang here. The same people who tell us about diversity and inclusion and valuing differences, do not seem to be valuing differences if those happen to be PERCEIVED to be pro-life oriented.
everytime you kill a human being you kill what they may have done in life...how many great people have been murdered before they had that chance? the scientist that cures cancer? a great thinker that helps the world be a better place? maybe they would be a bad person...a serial killer or a Hitler! don't you think we should hope for the best? Liberals don't see a fetus as a person but will cry over a murderer put to death for raping and killing a child?
@yetitracker No you dont hope. You look at the facts, Fact is, a fetus is not a human. Much like a baby born without a brain is not a human. Why? Because it is nothing but a shell of What could be, or have been. The point is who cares what it could possibly eventually become. At the point of abortion it is not a baby "99.9% of the time, It is a shell. And dont generalize and say all Pro-Choice are against the Death Penalty. In fact i'm pretty confident that is rarely the case
I fail to see the difference between this or killing an ant. In fact I would say an ant is more productive at this point. An embryo has no substantial thoughts, memorieis or even sense of pain. Your giving characteristics or emotions based on your personal experiences, not in fact.

This guy is an idiot...plain and simple. Clearly he knows nothing about Professor Dawkins, Atheism, or even his own Cult, I mean Religion. Education is what is defeating Christianity. Education is the basis for Atheism. As the developed world continues its development. Christianity will be seen for what it is, Bronze Age superstition. Christianity and the hate that it breeds is fading.
Looks like someone is to ignorant to do some research, have you ever even watched a real athiest vs. christian debate or just the one they show you at sunday school?
If abortion is a sin then abstinence should be also. They both prevent new life. People need to stop judging others based on rules in their fairy tale cult books. Flying Spaghetti Monster ...Out!
'The commercial doesn't say abortion is a bad thing.' The commercial is very clearly trying to deliver a pro-life message. Watch it, and then try to say that it is only supporting family values.
I'm a follower of dawkins, except his view on abortion.
conception is a stage we must all go through, no shortcut, or you might as well believe in the stork delivering babies already with a functional nervous system
I don't know what benefits does our specie has in a "culling gene".
I am a Tim tebow fan. I am also a Richard Dawkins fan. I am not an atheist or a Christian either. Evolution is a fact and there is not much evidence to support the Christian doctrine. Is abortion right or wrong? I guess its all relative. Anyway go Broncos!!!!
Why should the argument be that everyone should bear children? Beyond that, over the period of the entire life of a woman, she has passed, without her knowledge, at LEAST one FERTILIZED OVUM, or to translate that to the illiterate fundamentalist, you refer to that as a "baby," that failed to attach... is this murder, a premature death, a baby that will meet her in heaven?
Why is Richard Dawkins so angry that Tim Tebow's mom chose life over abortion? Abortionists worship at the alter of children's blood and celebrate their murder.
@westeastxybzd ......well, it is simple, abortionists celebrate murder because that is exactly what abortion is, the murder of a little boy or girl, they do indeed celebrate it by passionately making sure this holocaust continues by law. And of course abortionists celebrate the blood of children, have you ever seen the aftermath of these murders? It is quite bloody....my question to you is, where do you get the idea that abortionists do not celebrate the murder and blood of children?
@GaryLyons ohhhh I see what u mean by celebrate. For some reason I thought u meant they throw parties for abortions which I'm sure is not likely but for some reason I get feeling that there are those parties cause i feel as though whether or not a fetus is a human or not depending on a person's opinion I would not feel comfortable with someone throwing a party for that purpose myself.
By not following through with the abortion, Tim Tebow's mother aborted thousands of potential brothers of Tim. Maybe one of them would've been an even better football player, but we'll never know now. My postmodernist, fundamentalist, militant atheist views have been gravely offended, so I demand extra political leverage with which I can force abortions on people. Choice is immoral; even religious zealots will tell you that.
bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. RICHARD DAWKINNS is a genius. if your a jesus freak why you talk about moral ethic. you better give up.lol
@jcr4runner This couldn't be further from the truth and the irony is that you describe yourself and the wiews of ignorant Creationists like yourself!!!
@jcr4runner what the hell are you talking about i have seen him in speeches and taking questions and debating. The Catholic Church on the other hand those who were for evolution and stuff like that but left Richard Dawkins out on purpose so who's really the ones who are afraid of losing the debate
Haha what an idiot, Dawkins wasn't saying that AFTER the abortion the foetus wouldn't have a functioning nervous system, he was saying at the point of abortion, (which he then added to with the NOT pointless qualification 'at least early abortions') the foetus in the womb would not have a functioning nervous system.
The point being that if we accept his grounds that the nervous system is what constitutes a person then a foetus is no more of a person than an unconceived child.
Meaning that not conceiving is equivicable to having an (early) abortion.
Obviously you don't have to accept his premise, but there is nothing wrong with his argument.
And the part where this guy starts saying 'you stupid christian, home-schoolers' etc, he's trying to show that he's not stupid, that he understands and disagrees but he clearly doesn't understand... though I'm sure he would still disagree.
God is the biggest abortionist of all. Quit fetishizing collections of cells and start caring about real human lives and families by putting your moral indignation behind the real outrages, like the health care system in this country. It's pretty pathetic that the U.S. has a higher infant mortality rate than Cuba. So much for family values and concern for children.
This guys intelligence is but the fart of Dawkins'- you don't have to explicity say something using certain and particular words for the arguement/view to be seen.
"Religion gets under my skin"- AHHHH, but he didn't actually say I didn't like it! Therefore, he must like it!
So according to Dawkins, having a functional nervous system is the basis for life? What about people who are born with abnormal nervous systems, are they humans deserving to remain alive? What about those in catatonic states? The problem with most pro abortion arguments is that they use definitions of life which can apply equally to born humans. Ultimately, life begins at conception,. This is a well known medical fact, and was known over 100 years before Roe v Wade.
I glanced through your profile, so I'll try to phrase this as kindly as possible.
I see you went to BJU, so one might assume you are a proponent of YEC.
So assuming Science is wrong and evolution is bull... And thus of course granting that God created us as we are in present form, what are your feelings on miscarriage rates? Why is it that "God" destroys between 25 and 50% of human life that "begins at conception." Wouldn't that make him the worst abortionist of all?
Whether or one is a YEC, Old Earth Creationist, etc doesn't mean they see science as wrong. From a Christian perspective, we're a fallen world which is why we have things like disease, illness, biological abnormalities, and it's these things which cause miscarriages. We're a fallen world because we disobeyed God, and thus things like miscarriages are our fault.
With respect, If you don't see science as wrong, I can't see how Genesis can be taken seriously. It is in Genesis that two perfect beings are "created", and then fall to temptation, thus sending the rest of us down our "fallen" path. To discredit the first book of the Bible, which science clearly does, only leads to the realization that we never needed to be saved by Jesus in the NT for actions taken in the OT.
Of course, only when Jesus arrives is Hell introduced.
regaurdless of when life starts it is the mothers right to decide whether she wants to carry it or not.
if you tell her she has to carry it, that is violating her rights. a few cells or even an embryo are not the same as a human that has collective memories and experience.
Contrary to what many christians think- Dr. Dawkins is not the atheist leader they think he is. He is fantastic in his field of science and in the scientific process in general. He lacks direction outside of his field of expertise. I agree in principle with Dr. Dawkins position, but I wish he could use a little more tact. He was right, but his attitude has caused this christian show host to use it as another emotional appeal to keep christians in their delusions.
Do you have a call-in or something similar? So I can talk some sense into you especially with your ridiculous opening. Why not look up the definition of science and then look up the definition of faith and tell me how they are compatible!
The twisted logic of this man is spectacular. As a male I will always yield to the decision of a woman as to whether or not she has an abortion. Nevertheless I know that I could have been aborted, but I was born in a time when abortions were generally illegal. I enjoy my life but always feel sad that whatever ciricumstances prevailed at the time, my birth mother felt compelled to have me adopted. I can only assume religion had a large part to play in that decision, what a pity.
I have 3 Doctorates... how ignorant of you to categorize all Christians as "mentally challenged." all you have accomplished to do by all your labeling and name calling is to expose your lack of a foundational argument, causing you to have to resort to such juvenile tactics.

Actually, considering he created that account solely to comment here, and that he completely misread the comment in order to make that claim, I am highly doubtful of anything he says. A person with three doctorates would not need to stoop to anonymous ad hominem attacks.
Furthermore, your Auschwitz analogy is horrid. You completely (and willingly I wonder?) ignore that fetuses don't have a developed nervous system for the vast majority of abortions, and the only ones people generally accept except in late-term cases where the mother's viability is at stake.
The Auschwitz and serial killer victims were grown and aware of their predicament.
Do you really need to distort reality to make your point? Shouldn't that tell you something?
You are trying to make a physical developmental excuse for a morale issue. Which is typical for people who don't have a solid moral foundation to rely upon.
The point of contention is not a moral issue, its a factual issue. You cannot claim to know an action is morally correct, when you are factually wrong about its circumstances and implications.
