You can also read news relevant to EVE including new updates, large fleet engagements that have occurred recently and much more.

if you get with the right corp and alliance its a riot i was training dreads when i quit for the final time the game can be a second job when it comes to war i played 30 hours straight one time slept at the pc and everything awaiting countermeasures cause poswere coming out of reinforcement and we had 7 pos's to take down throughout 5 systems, but dedication it what makes an alliance work. 160 of us along with coalition members helps own that region.

So in combat, I fly around and I don't just sit in one spot firing at a target? I hate those click, go to that spot, then fire games. I like being able to rapidly move around and shoot at the same time.
The combat is turn based. You don't aim weapons or anything. It's vastly different from WoW. There are no levels. You train skills in actual real-world time. In a way, you can dodge shots, because your ships speed factors into whether or not you will be hit. It's so ridiculously complicated to explain in a YouTube comment box. The only thing to do would be to get a free trial and give it a shot. Even then, you need years to experience everything the game can offer. I can send you a 21 day trial.

Turn-based = everyone waits his turn to make an attack move, like a chess game or civilisation. I can say for certain that PvE was def not turn-based
I like the game + graphics, the only prob is that I'm not familiar with the sci-fi theme (more of a fantasy fan) and I found the game very complex and a bit impersonal. Probably cos I didn't get a chance to get used to it.
@rykk78 that would definately suck you are right and eve online is compleatly awsome although i am not nearly powerful enough to participate in a battle myself is is still entirely fun to fight against npc pirates untill then.
All you need to be usefull in a fleet is a t1 frigate with a micro warpdrive and a warp scrambler/warp disruptor :-) Even in capital fights fast tackle is needed.
The speed of the fight depends on the experience and skills of the players and how fast they can break each others tanks and take em all down. There's really no way to get out of the line of fire unless you're out of range, warp off, or jump into another system, however you do have control of your ship and fly it around as long as you aren't being held down with webifiers, warp scramblers, or disruptors. There are so many factors to every fight to make every single detail different.
I love how intense the vent is. Yet the gameplay from my perspective(knowing nothing about the game) seems rather boring. =P I also heard the learning curve is rather steep. Is that so?
Yeah the learning curve is nasty. The UI is enough to scare off any new player. You'll spend the first week just trying to figure out where everything is.
The game is as intense as the vent sounds.... unfortunately you are viewing this fight from the viewpoint of the pilot who was ECM jammed for the entire length of it so he was unable to shoot and nobody was shooting him since he was jammed, so no frantic calling for shield repair, or activation of modules, drones, etc etc.
you lock on the enemy ship and pres the F buttons to start your weapons, or click the buttons on screen. you can see here the 6 missile like round buttons on center bottom.
Anyway the game has a 14day trial which anyone can subscribe to to try it out. There's a live help channel in game to help out the new arrivals with any questions.

Considering the fact that it was uploaded in dec 2008, which is a time when you could both set your own overview and group your weapons. You sir, are just retarded.
remove friendlies and wrecks from pvp overview, then sort by name or type. in bigger fights with hundreds of friendlies and wrecks you will not be able to find primary.
and use broadcast system for reps so you don't tie up the coms for the FC to give orders.

Hookup with a hardcore mission/plexing corp that has access to 0.0.... farm belt rats or plexes for lots of isk, use isk to buy ingame PLEX (gametimecard), play for free, never have to pay cash again!
wow the ending was really funny, stop shooting me, a good thing to fix that would be to turn off your auto agress in you options. friendly fire is a no no. and also that frig was an idiot if you are the smallest ship you never stay around the whole fucking time when everyone is dying around you. good vid man. epic fail on the fit though
Pro tip: NEVER pvp in a ship that you cant afford to lose. If you couldnt afford to fly that BS in pvp and lose it then you should have flown a BC or smaller.
The one thing about the game that I can't stand is that one can lose months of hard work so easily and quickly in an engagement such as this. I remember losing my first battleship minutes after buying it., thanks to a player that had 2 years and a few million skill points on me. I didn't play for a week after that.
However, something about the game keeps me wanting to come back.
I didn't engage in anything - I was caught while ratting in a low-sec asteroid belt with corp mates in the system not responding fast enough. Some energy vamps + heavy drones + warp jammer killed me, especially since I was running an Ammar Apocalypse.
So it isn't like WoW, where you can (almost) always choose your PVP engagements.
Yeah, missions can make a lot of money but they are repetitive and boring, I suggest going for PvP as much as possible for fun, preferably larger scaled PvP ^_^

Well AoC is more WoW basically. Eve online however is has hugely more complexity and depth to it, not to mention requiring alot of patience to get through the first few awkward months of skill training, u can play Eve two years and still only know 25% of it, theres literally thousands of different skills, ship set ups, not to mention ships.
I quit wow after more than 3 years of high end raiding for eve and it is worth it. This game is not as much as quick relexes as wow is. You actualy need to think before doing something. The learning system can be frustrating but all in all it's 10 times better than wow.
I recently signed up for WoW to play with a few friends and the thing that made me quit immediately was the "forced obsolescence" Anything you accomplish, grind, obtain in the original and BC is immediately invalidated by Wotlk, so if you want to raid or pvp, you need wotlk... in Eve, nothing is ever invalidated simply because of a new exp... there have been a half dozen FREE major exp in eve and nothing has ever been made obsolete by the exp.
We're a "seasonal" corp, we all leave our current corps in the summertime, reform haiduken, kick around some wartargets, then go back to our regular corps... sort of a summer vacation in eve
What is EVE about? Is it like a sci-fi shooter with spacecraft? Ive played Pirate Galaxy and I got pretty good at that...

I'm a former WoW noob, it got boring after 3 80s and done pretty much everything there was to do.
I have been looking into Eve, and was wandering about the combat. In WoW it was instant, fast paced running around and using abilities.
How is the combat in this game? Can you fly around in control of your ship, trying to get out of the line of fire while also shooting back?

remove friendlies and wrecks from pvp overview, then sort by name or type. in bigger fights with hundreds of friendlies and wrecks you will not be able to find primary.
and use broadcast system for reps so you don't tie up the coms for the FC to give orders.

Hookup with a hardcore mission/plexing corp that has access to 0.0.... farm belt rats or plexes for lots of isk, use isk to buy ingame PLEX (gametimecard), play for free, never have to pay cash again!

Pro tip: NEVER pvp in a ship that you cant afford to lose. If you couldnt afford to fly that BS in pvp and lose it then you should have flown a BC or smaller.

The one thing about the game that I can't stand is that one can lose months of hard work so easily and quickly in an engagement such as this. I remember losing my first battleship minutes after buying it., thanks to a player that had 2 years and a few million skill points on me. I didn't play for a week after that.
However, something about the game keeps me wanting to come back.

I didn't engage in anything - I was caught while ratting in a low-sec asteroid belt with corp mates in the system not responding fast enough. Some energy vamps + heavy drones + warp jammer killed me, especially since I was running an Ammar Apocalypse.
So it isn't like WoW, where you can (almost) always choose your PVP engagements.

Yeah, missions can make a lot of money but they are repetitive and boring, I suggest going for PvP as much as possible for fun, preferably larger scaled PvP ^_^

I loaded the trial version and first I thought that this the best game ever made. But now after 11 days it has begun to feel quite boring. I think that there isn't enough to do in this game. I know there is lot of depht in EVE but not enough things to do.
But its still very fascinating and good looking game. Im not sure about buying the game.

Well AoC is more WoW basically. Eve online however is has hugely more complexity and depth to it, not to mention requiring alot of patience to get through the first few awkward months of skill training, u can play Eve two years and still only know 25% of it, theres literally thousands of different skills, ship set ups, not to mention ships.

I quit wow after more than 3 years of high end raiding for eve and it is worth it. This game is not as much as quick relexes as wow is. You actualy need to think before doing something. The learning system can be frustrating but all in all it's 10 times better than wow.

I recently signed up for WoW to play with a few friends and the thing that made me quit immediately was the "forced obsolescence" Anything you accomplish, grind, obtain in the original and BC is immediately invalidated by Wotlk, so if you want to raid or pvp, you need wotlk... in Eve, nothing is ever invalidated simply because of a new exp... there have been a half dozen FREE major exp in eve and nothing has ever been made obsolete by the exp.

We're a "seasonal" corp, we all leave our current corps in the summertime, reform haiduken, kick around some wartargets, then go back to our regular corps... sort of a summer vacation in eve
