  • door needs some grease or new door pins bud

  • to be honest i like the look of the v6 rear bumper with duels better than the gt bumper. i own both v6/v8 and i just have a special place in my heart for those 3.8 motors.

  • cherry bomb 12in glass packs they made my 4.6 f150 sound better than my buddies 6.2 camaro

  • Gotta get some white lithium grease on them doors!

  • why doesnt your bumper have cut outs? all 6 mustangs we have owned always had cut outs. unless your was a v6 at first or u replaced the bumper

  • @chrispy961 I built the car on a V6 frame. The rear bumper was all that was left to change. I have everythin else from a GT. From the seats to the hood EVERYTHING has been changed. Except the frame ;). So that was the last part for me to change, but I couldn't find one locally, so i waited out. By the end of that summer I had it installed and changed the exhaust pipes too.

  • @Fender869 oh ok cool. i got confused. but cool man. i thought it was a v6 just with a different motor. well. it kinda is. but you know. lol. but cool. it has a good sound. i should of taken a vid of my silver gt. it was a 00 model. had a 75 shot of nos. and it had borlas. but dad sold it. oh well

  • @chrispy961 Damn, yeah you should have ;). Love Borlas. I might change my magnaflows for something else next year, i was thinking Borlas for sure. It is the cadillac of cat backs in my opinion. If not custom jobs are nice, but they take time to get the perfect sound. Or else you estimate and see what happens i guess. Aight thanks for viewing dude! later

  • Did you have to replace the valve springs with these cams or can you get away with stock ones? Also no clearance issues?

  • Dude please grease your door hinge :)

  • I just got 278 comps on my 2v and yes you lose low end... where you would be burning out anyway... that's why you get 4.10+ gears in and mustang keeps your rpms nice n high... you suckers better do the math or big a civic

  • @RoushGT2 OR maybe i don't want a car thats undrivable. 4.10 gears ? IF all i did 1/4 mile commuting lol. or Good luck driving a 2000 mile trip with 4.10s. lol reving at 3400rpm and barely doing 60. Then its funny because civics will make you eat out their asses cause you have no more top speed. I love drag racing, but a drag modded car is impractical for anything else. I got an 8.8 posi Cobra independent suspension axle waiting to be installed. Beat me on a straight kiss my ass in a curve ;)

  • @Fender869 uhh i do 2400 at 75 with 4.10's lol. our cars have a .62 5th gear soo argument invalid

  • @Treyb0220 I do like 1800 at 75.... How is the argument invalid. That is substantially more economical. 2400 constantly is hard to fuel. I know the car is not about saving gas, but I commute with it daily. It's not that fast to be a serious racer anyways. Not with all these stock 11 and 12 second cars lining the blocks now. Again, it's not that drastic, but you can't argue that the higher gear ratio also increases your revs.

  • @Fender869 its invalid because i only lost 1 mpg when i went from stock to 4.10 and all my driving is in 35-45- and 55 zone and up hill to college. i still avg 21 mpg. and on the way to mustang week i got 26.64 mpg.

  • @Treyb0220 your MPG was just bad to start off with. Your results don't correlate very well with mine. I average 24.7 mpg. On a long trip i almost hit 30 iirc. You probably have a much different driving style then mine. Either way I don't really want to waste more time debating this with you. It's a question of simple mathematics. Whether or not you are happy with your results, is a totally different subject. You lost economy, however small it was, therefore your evidence supports the proven fact

  • @Treyb0220 I have 373s and at 70mph im at 2300 rpm. How r u at 2400 at 75 with 410s.........somthing is off on your car maby?

  • @mistress313 nah. your 99 gt has the t45 which has a .68 th gear ratio. my tr3650 has a .62 5th gear. thats the way my buddys 99 gt iswith the 373's. we run almost the exact same rpms in 5th

  • @Treyb0220 Mistress313 wrote that... how do you know she has a 99? PS mine is a 99, but i have a full 02 drivetrain. So we have the same transmission...

  • i do not like mustangs but yours sounds beautiful one of the best sounding cars ive heard

  • whats up with the car hesitsting to start man??? but that cam sounds pretty nice though...

  • I know it's a v8 sixers can't make that exhaust

  • Just woundering

  • You think this is a V6? It's a spare bumper i put on until i could find a GT. That summer i had gotten into a Fender bender and i had that one laying around. It now has a GT bumper. Also at the time i was thinking about doing a side exhaust set-up. The y2k Cobra R has a V6 bumper so there are no cutouts.

  • why does it have a v6 bumper

  • Why does it matter?

  • I'm thinking I might get a set these cams for my '03 Crown Vic. It should work fairly well with my mostly stock setup, I think. I'm gonna call comp tomorrow and see what they say though.

  • Don't bother. I called and they know shit all. If you want the most of your car stock get the XE262AH. It provides the most improvement and doesn't sacrifice any low rpm power and torque. It gets less potential gains than the 270 or 278 and it barely has a noticeable idle. If you're thinking of doing a proper build from intake, throttle body, ported heads, exhaust from headers to mufflers, tune, degree and injectors than go for the 270ah

  • @haloguru2552 Well my car already has a K&N intake, 70mm TB, ported and polished plenum, and dual H-pipe exhaust from the cat back with flowmaster 40s. I want the exhaust to lope a little bit from the cam, that's why I was thinking 270ah.

  • Those are the ones you should go for. I did a lot of reading and from what i gathered, from a Richard Holdener book where he tests all the comp cams on same block with the same set - up to show you where the power band is and how much MAX hp you get in contrast to PI, the 270AH was the best of both worlds. The 278 will get you the maximum, but without any forced induction, you will kill all your low end hp and torque. With the 274ah You lose a little (like 2-5 hp for 1000rpm) but gain 25-65 hp

  • Everything on my Vic is stock except for the intake and exhaust. It's an '03, however, so it does have the PI heads. I know the PI heads add more HP, but I don't exactly know what's so different on them from the others. Do you? I want a cam that can give some good horsepower, good sound, without sacrificing tons of gas. the 270ah doesn't sound like too heavy of a cam, so I think it will do me well.

  • @haloguru2552 stock camshaft opens both the intake and exhaust valves 0.444 inch at maximum valve lift. Both valves are open 210 degrees of crankshaft rotation when measured from 0.050 inch of valve lift

  • awesome sound was wondering how come u didnt go for the XE278AH for a super aggressive idle i wanna see how they sound

  • Unless you're going to invest on a more than just cams and an intake a pair of XE278 will actually kill performance OVERALL (keyword here so no flaming). In dynoed results, i've seen them give up to 70HP at peak, but with a long list of standard bolt ons from intake, to throttle body, plenums, Cold air, new springs, new heads etc and those are the numbers. but they get that number at around 6-7000 RPM. Most of the engine isn't made to run past 6000 rpm so why bother, they sound really nice.

  • Not dynoed yet, but there is an event this week end with open dyno i might go. It's not properly tuned yet either, so i would need to get that done to give you a better result. To behonest, with air intake and ported heads, you get loads of power, but you feel it really at about 4k RPM. Now you can degree to adjust this, but i feel with a timing retard to a cutoff of about 6300RPM and a powerband kicking off at about 36-3800 rpm, this car would be in its prime. I bet a tune and cam gears would +

  • Good eye. It doesn't for 2 reasons. The first one being that this look belongs to this car. It was a 3,8 the day it was built. When i bought the car, i got a good deal on it and this was the ideal one for a swap. Clean look, clean frame and convertible. the second reason being i am going with some side pipes soon and a pair of side skirts to fit with, and the cut outs would have no purpose by then.

  • have you put it on the dyno yet? Im in the process of doing the same mods to a 2000 GT. What all did you notice in power?

  • should'nt your bumper have the cut outs for the exausht?

  • thats what im thinking
