  • Umm, yeah, it is. It's a sex-linked genetic mutation. If your father is albino, and you are male, then you are more likely to be albino. If your mother is a carrier then you are even more likely. I don't feel like drawing out a punnett square right now, but albinism IS genetically linked.

  • Actually, no. Albino is a yes/no trait, and a recessive trait.

    In the situation you describe, the mother would have to pass on a recessive gene, if she even had it, for the child to be albino. But because albino is a recessive trait, if the mother did not pass on a recessive albino gene or did not have it, the child would be completely non-albino, though he/she could pass on the recessive gene to his/her children.
